About this property

Cozy Waterfront Cottage on the Kennebecasis River. Pet Friendly!

Wake up to a spectacular view of the Kennebecasis River from the loft master bedroom. Enjoy morning coffee on the sunny deck, or relax under the shade of the pergola.
You can simply relax and enjoy the solitude, having an evening campfire or enjoying the livingroom's woodstove. Climb the spiral staircase to the master bedroom and have a soak in the Jacuzzi bathtub. The rustic pine interior has that classic cabin decor and ambience.
If you want outdoor experiences, you can launch your kayaks right from our gravel beachfront. There is an excellent sandy beach nearby across the river at Meenan's Cove. You can cycle on the many backroads along the peninsula. Mountain biking and hiking trails are nearby, our shoreline roadway is actually a part of the Trans-Canada Trail. Cross country skiing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling make this an all season destination.
The Kingston Farmer's Market, quaint shops, several craft breweries and a cidery are all a short drive away. The cottage is 35 minutes from downtown St. John, including a quick scenic ferry ride across the river. St. Martins and the Fundy Trail are less than an hour drive. Take an easy day trip to New River Beach, St. George, St Andrew's, Minister's Island or Hopewell Rocks.
Our cozy cottage is a private tranquil retreat that is close to all that New Brunswick has to offer.
Note: the driveway is steep, all wheel drive is recommended for easier access.

We were lucky in our vehicle we had all wheel drive, would not have made it up the driveway. The lake on cottage side was not suitable for swimming. The beach on the other side was better. The top bunk of the bunk beds should of had a safety rail. The owner of the cottage needs to visit and upgrade some kitchen supplies. TV and cell reception was great. Leather furniture was cozy. Beds were comfortable. The cleanliness of the cottage could have been much, much better. Cob webs everywhere. Moldy clothes hamper, much needed detailing everywhere. I had to wipe out every dresser. Kitchen drawers and cupboards have not been cleaned in awhile. Bugs and dirt in every window sill. I am sorry Richard I would not return. You really need to go there and understand. You were a wonderful at attending to everything we asked. Thank you.

I am sorry that our family cottage did not meet your expectations. I have reviewed your feedback with our cleaning staff to address your concerns with cobwebs and detailing. Yes the driveway is steep, and our shoreline is stony. It is great for swimming, kayaking and canoeing but we do recommend water shoes. Fortunately there is an excellent sandy beach if you prefer, nearby across the river at Meenan's Cove. We do our best to keep everything in decent order so you can enjoy your stay.

We had an amazing stay at this property. We booked this spot for the weekend for a relaxing/ reading getaway with our little book club, and it was perfect! The space was very clean, comfortable, and the location was beautiful. We already miss sitting on the patio overlooking the lake, and watching the sunset. The kitchen was stocked with all the supplies/utensils that you would need for cooking (much better than other places I’ve stayed). Richard was fantastic to communicate with, and provided clear and easy instructions for check in/check out. We hope to be back in the future!

It was all quite nice, met our needs. The tv was impossible for us to figure out, maybe a cheat sheet would be a good idea. None of the three of us could figure it out. We are used to fire stick and chrome.

Helpful and responsive

Richard went out of his way to ensure I was taken care of. Woke up with a flat tire and was able to get some info from Richard, including having the neighbour check in on me. Can't say enough!

My wife Darion and I are retired. We love the outdoors, boating, cycling, hiking, skiing. We love New Brunswick and are happy to share our family cottage so people can experience all it has to offer.

Why they chose this property

The view from our hilltop waterfront cottage is beautiful. It is private but so close to everything.

What makes this property unique

Our cottage has the rustic feel of a small cabin but it has all the comforts of home.
