Excellent location. Basic but clean. Needs to made clear, when booking, that there is no lift in this property and most rooms are up a flight or two of stairs. Especially room 12 which is up a step flight of outside stairs, tricky when wet. Host keeps you well informed.

Our overall experience during these five days was far from satisfactory and did not justify the cost of our stay. The biggest issue was the excessive noise. Every night around 10 p.m., some sort of construction work seemed to start within the building. On one occasion, we even heard what sounded like a drill, which completely disrupted our sleep. Additionally, the walls were extremely thin, making it easy to hear not only conversations from neighboring rooms but even the sound of toilets flushing, which further disturbed our sleep. The hotel’s website describes the Traditional Room we stayed in as: “This studio ensures peace and privacy with no neighboring rooms, making it an ideal sanctuary.” However, the conditions we experienced were completely inconsistent with this description. There were also several other issues: We did not receive the entry code for the building until we called the day before our arrival. The message we received only included the building code, with no information about which room we were assigned or the code to enter the room itself. We had to call again upon arrival to find this out. The room was supposed to have a hairdryer, but there wasn’t one. We had to call to request it, and it took about an hour to be delivered, leaving me with wet hair on the first day. The Wi-Fi was advertised as 250 Mbps, but the connection was very weak. We trusted the positive reviews on Expedia, but this experience ruined our trip. Totally disappointed.

Abbiamo soggiornato per 3 giorni a San Juan e la struttura si trova in una posizione ottimale per visitare la vecchia San Juan avendo tutte le principali attrazioni storiche a breve distanza, così come ristoranti e bar. La stanza e il bagno erano spaziosi e puliti e freschi anche senza l'uso dell'aria condizionata o del ventilatore a soffitto. Maricruz (la proprietaria) ci ha assistito fin dall'inizio al meglio, sempre con grande disponibilità e cortesia. E' stata sollecita nel fornirci le istruzioni di accesso alla struttura, precisa e puntuale nel consigliarci su dove mangiare e parcheggiare. Se dovessimo ritornare questo è il posto dove vorremmo soggiornare.

Great place

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a week long trip. First of all communication from staff was great. I recieved a message from staff early offering to store our luggage if needed and again before we checked out which i thought was very kind. Location is great, walking distance to everything including ruins, stores and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need including a fridge and nice large shower. Staff was very accomodating in giving us extra items we asked for. The building has a beautiful courtyard with rooms surrounding. Even though you are in the middle of a busy city you wouldn't know it because it is very quiet and peaceful inside. Would stay here again for sure.

Great historic location in Old San Juan

Amazing location in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Old San Juan. Steps away from shopping, bars, and restaurants with a view of Castillo San Cristobal. The walk to the cruise terminal at pier 4 was about 8 minutes. Maricruz, the owner, was so friendly and helpful also. Will definitely stay again!
