Excellent place and lovely people

This was my 2nd stay at SACO in Reading and it won't be my last one. The place is in a lovely quiet area with free parking. Ricky, who was there to greet us was extremely helpful and even upgraded us to a better apartment! I would highly recommend

Great flat, plenty of space for solo or family

Great location for teaching at Reading University or Royal Berkshire Hospital. Flat was really spacious with all amenities that you would require. Bed was really comfy and fans provided as it was hot. It was quite noisy being on the ground floor flat, you could hear people on the stairs and when the front door shut.

This is an apartment, cleaned before arrival and after leaving. Management are on site to assist with any issues, for example they helped me move items from the top shelves in the kitchen to lower shelves. The location is close to town. However, the nearest supermarket is about a 10 minute walk away. Great place. I’d stay here again.

Place was clean. Close to transportation and shopping. Dishwasher failed after first week and not repaired by the end of the fourth week. Upstairs was loud with loud cracking floors.

Pretty good all round - clean, nicely appointed and comfortable but with one major flaw. The boiler works away all night and with a late night and then an early rise the next day was a little disappointing and made sleeping soundly very difficult. 9/10 with the exception of the boiler noise

The couch and chair was not comfy to sit and relax watching tv and our keys were not in the safe when we arrived and then maintenance knocked on our door at 9.30am to fit soap dispensers in the toilets/bathroom without prior notice

The overall accommodation was alright, we stayed in a two-room and two-bathroom unit. The bedding in the master bedroom was a bit dusty, with some small black spots on it. The reception staff did follow up, but since we arrived quite late, we changed the sheets ourselves. The overall cleanliness was average, the master bathroom was poorly designed, with the entire floor getting wet after showering. The smaller room was relatively cleaner, but there were no available power outlets, so it was not very convenient. We cooked in the unit, so we consumed some of the dishwasher detergent. On the third day, we went to the reception to ask for more, and they said that a welcome pack was provided upon check-in, and if we needed additional items, we would have to pay for them. But it was strange that there was a notice in the unit saying that we could ask the reception for more supplies if needed. We were not quite sure if we could just request more items when necessary. We stayed for 5 nights, and they said that cleaning would only be done after a week-long stay, so the basic cleaning was done by the guests themselves. Overall, the experience was average. The reception staff were friendly, and there was free parking available. The overall cleanliness could be improved.

The place is nicely maintained, cleaned and pretty good sized. About 15 min walk to the town center and 20 min to station. However, a lot of improvement needed in communication and check in. They dont respond to your email until a few hours before the check in, doesn't matter how many times you contact. It was very stressful for me as I was travelling from Canada and was in the flight for a significant amount of hours on the the day of check in. At one point I almost thought this is a scam. I called and requested for early check in multiple times, which they noted and said it will be fine, but did not take care of. I had to wait for about an hour to check in. There were no housekeeping for my entire three days of stay. I had to request for some teas and coffees and towels on the third day which responded to in a very tirdy manner. Washroom locks are very old and need changing. I was stuck in washroom once and was terrified. I stopped locking the washroom for the remaining of the stay I would still say the room was very good and clean

Good but small problems

I've stayed here twice and find it to be a quiet area, good standard of serviced apartments but with a couple of small issues that means I can't give top marks. The building is old, although modernised well, which means sound proofing is not good. Both stays I've had problems where the alarm clock has gone off in other apartments in the middle of the night and hearing it wakes me but I can do nothing about it. Also, noise from people in the apartment above can be bad if those people are not considerate of others. I was surprised that the first apartment had a washing machine but no dishwasher. The second apartment had both but no cafetière. Also on my first stay only one wifi code was provided... Who only has one device these days???? This was resolved and on the second stay I had 3 codes provided immediately, showing to me that lessons are immediately learnt here.

Perfect

The bed was insane! I can’t remember the last time I slept for 8 hours straight for 2 nights on the bounce, not just me the hubby said the same, very comfortable 2 days stay. Ricky was amazing even before check in, contacted us the morning of arrival and allowed us to park our car up a couple of hours George we even checked in, very kind ☺️ we can’t fault the place it was very convenient for us visiting my poorly mam who lives 5 minutes away. Thanks guys we will be booking again for September ☺️
