The location is very good. There’s lots of eating options nearby and lots of walkable shopping. The area is mostly quiet and it’s safe at night. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the large room we had.

Located in the heart of the action. Lots of restaurants and shops. Hotel is well maintained and house keeping does an excellent job. Friendly staff at the front desk. I had a wonderful stay at this well-located hotel, surrounded by shops and restaurants just a short walk away, yet surprisingly quiet. A big thanks to Miguel on the night shift for ensuring our safety and serving delicious breakfasts. Do need to mention he’s also a great guide. It was a fantastic experience!

Location was great. Property is old, room was super small, lady in front desk was rude. No hair dryer, no iron, no coffee machine, you have to ask. Small pool in the middle so it’s noisy when people swim and hang around. The only thing is the location was good.

Truly enchanting, this smaller and more intimate hotel proved to be an excellent choice. The suites are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and tasteful decor. A reasonably stocked kitchen with a full size fridge and stovetop. Staff are wonderful and quick to please. Just steps from 5th avenue it was remarkably quiet and calm. Walk to the beach or enjoy the pool in the courtyard. The rooftop patio has a bar-b-que, tables and chairs, loungers and a fantastic view of the ocean. And there is always a cool breeze. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They even gave me a bottle of wine surprise for my birthday. The elevator was broken and it was hard to keep walking up and down 3 flights of stairs. The free breakfast was very nice with fresh fruit, cereal, hard boiled eggs, toast and other breads, yoghurt.

1. Staff was 5/5. Very accommodating and helpful. They don’t automatically clean the room or change towels but have no issues doing so upon request. Beach towels are provided upon request. Front desk ladies linked us up with an affiliated tour operator for discounted Chichen Itza tour (which was excellent). We were allowed early check in and late check out free of charge, which helped us manage our time so much better. 2. Location was 4.5/5. It was just off 5th Ave and about a block away from the beach, but that said, it’s relatively far (12mins walk which feels more like 25mins under a 37C sun) from the ADO station which is where the hub of activity seems to be (buses, ferry to Cozumel, Parque de los Fundadores) and the nearest beach isn’t the prettiest section. Mamita’s is just a short walk away though. 3. Property was 4/5. The look of the whole building is charming (just like in photos). The room is spacious and well-appointed, but the age of the property does show. The light fixtures are a bit dim now, the shower head has uneven water pressyre and there’s a bit of an “old” smell. All in all, not bad but could use an update.

Tout était très bien! À l’exception qu’un gérant nous a volé $200USD dans le coffre-fort! Seul un gérant pouvais voler avec le module de programmation. Il a accusé les femmes de chambres mais elles n’ont aucune possibilité de voler dans le coffre. J’aurais aimé obtenir une compensation mais rien n’a été offert car ceci aurait confirmé la responsabilité du gérant!

The initial room we were given when we checked in late in the day, wasn't great. It was rather small, felt unkept and the bathroom had water pressure issues. When we brought up the issues to the management, they were happy to make the switch the next day and gave us the free upgrade to a suite. Which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Laura- one of the manager was very accomodating and all the hotel staffs were helpful and friendly. Acanto felt like home during our stay!

The room had a few problems such as the shower pressure, leaking sink, living room tv had not volume. The property is cute, but if you’re like me, you probably won’t like the noisy bed sheets. The breakfast consists of boiled eggs and coffee, some individual cereal boxes and toast. The night guy Miguel was the best worker at the property.
