Clock Cottage was a great place for our family of 2 adults and 2 children to stay during a visit with relatives who live in the area. It is decorated to a high level of detail, the bathrooms were beautifully appointed with large bathtubs and a rain shower, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen has a good layout with everything you would need.
The back terrace and grassy area were a great place for our kids to run around to burn off energy, and the location is great. It's a short drive to any amenities, with a pub down the road and a Tesco not far in Chepstow. There's also a good playground nearby for more fun for kids.
The cautions: Clock Cottage is on a main road with a steep driveway. If you're a nervous reverse driver, be aware, although area drivers are always accommodating of other cars, given the narrow roads and traffic. In addition, the private terrace for Clock Cottage is up a short, but steep, staircase. My elderly mother-in-law visited and couldn't make it up there, so if you have mobility issues, this could pose a challenge.
We loved our 4 night stay at Broadrock and will certainly book again the next time we are in the area.

Lovely cottage
We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for 3 - now think that says it all.
I travel a lot and this was delightful. A very spacious and tastefully decorated in Farrow and Ball colours throughout, so for me it felt like home. 2 king-sized bedrooms with lovely en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen which is very well stocked and was a pleasure to cook in every night. Just as well as in these lockdown times, little was open in the area, apart from supermarkets, so bring supplies.
A real gem and such a welcome change from bland corporate hotels. If you are in the area - stay here.

Stunning cottage, 5 mins from centre of Chepstow. Fantastic host. Had 2 boys with us who loved the use of the pool table. Couldn’t fault it.
Sistemazione molto carina, ai limiti di un bel bosco. Camera spaziosa, pulita e ben arredata. Buona colazione

Amazing B&B. One of the best I've ever stayed in. Room was fabulous and of a super size, separate to other rooms. Luxurious bathroom with fab shower and stand alone bath. Lovely hosts who could not do more to make this a wonderful stay. Continental breakfast was varied and super fresh, from the orange juice to the local pastries.
At a £100 a night this is ok VFM, but you must understand it's a 'co-production' setup. In other words there are no staff; you cook your own breakfast; you stack and empty the dishwasher....
It works. The owner is very amenable and helpful.
Rooms are superb. Modern, clean, sparkly furnished.
It's next to a busy road but actually pretty quiet.
Recommended if you want to do it yourself.

Truely personal experience. It is important to make sure you have the housecode when you arrive (we managed to attach to the wifi at the door, so was able to retrieve there. Once we made our way in the property is a delightful welsh cottage sympathetically converted to a fantastic personal hotel. The pool table is excellent and the breakfast cooked up in the kitchen in front of you by our host, Richard, was excellent. The share kitchen enabled us to cook a homely dinner when we arrived, with a supermarket (Tesco) just 5 mins drive away. The location is in the countryside, so be sure to have travel options suited this - with the rich adventure of the Wye valley around you. A great gateway to Wales, and perfect for splitting up our drive from London to West Wales.

This was the best room rate we could find for our overnight stay in the area.. We were not expecting the amazing venue that it is! It is truly beautiful, everything is impeccably decorated and finished, there is so much room and communal areas are fantastic. The balconies and garden areas fantastic. The kitchen and honesty fridge / tuck shop brilliant. Service is fantastic.. I literally haven't got enough good words for this place! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Excellent choice if you want a confortable place to relax after exploring the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, or the Border Country. Richard is a friendly host and serves up a delicious breakfast. This is a special place in a forgotten part of Britain
