Hotel strategically located near Sapporo station, bus terminal and shopping mall. The hotel has a nice ambience too.

There is a very damp smell. I do not feel well the mini nite in stepped into the room. I was told that they have full occupancy, and they can not accommodate my request for a additional pillow. Each bed was only given one pillow

European style building, not modern, but comfortable to stay. Convenient location with immediate access to car rental facilities and a few minutes walk away from the Sapporo train station. Triple room is a bit compact.

Solid Hotel.

Friendly staff and very close to amenities. To those who are new in Sapporo, check out Chuo Bus, many tours available. Will definitely stay here again.

Great service from ms tasegawa

Beautiful European style hotel, albeit slightly old which I suppose is the charm of the hotel. Extremely central to the JR station without being too crowded, a nice 10 minute stroll even if you’re lugging bags. Was checked in by Ms. Tasegawa who is a true gem to the hotel, speaks adequate English and is extremely efficient. Requested for a late check out till 6PM due to a late flight but did not fully expect it given golden week but ms tasegawa went out of her way to extend us till 2PM and called on the last day to inform us of a cancellation which allowed us to pay the half day late check-out till 6. Despite the busy golden week, she worked tirelessly with a cheerful attitude. Perhaps the only flaw was the old room condition and a suggestion is to have more electrical updates and an air conditioning sysytem even in the spring. Kudos to Ms tasegawa for providing such seamless, fuss free and friendly service!

Highly recommended

Room was spacious, out of expectation for japan. I paid for a superior room at cross hotel before checking in to Monterey and this was much bigger. Very convenient locstion to JR station. Very pretty hotel with european deco.( comforting to my british husband) very happy with this hotel, best stay for my trip

Furnitures are old and rundown and the small wardrobe has mouldy smell. Room is small for 2 persons, have difficulty placing our 2 big luggages due to space constraints.

Near to Sapporo Station

Old and drab furnishing. Some stains on sofa set. Quite cramp; narrow walking spaces inside room. Difficult to communicate with staff as they speak little or no English. Walking distance to JR Saporo Station - easy access to many restaurants and shops. Stayed a nite only (fortunately) as we prefer more modern design.

Location is great, if there is no rain or snow. Very convenient for public transport if you can take the challenge and hyper market just across the street. Walking distance of 15min to several places of interest. Cool choice for family holiday.

Memorable hotel

Very comfy and great staying. The only inconvenience is not underground connected with sapporo station. During winter season with high snow intensity and very windy, going in and out of the hotel by walking may be a challenge.

Checking in was quite pleasant. Appreciate the arrangement for takeout breakfast as i need to checkout very early. Hotel is quite rigid about small request. The day before my checkout, I asked for coffee instead of the juice in the takeout box which comprise of 3 small size pastry, 1 pkt of orange juice & 1 banana. I thought it's not a big deal especially my stay already includes breakfast that is ¥1900 per person & the buffet spread definitely is so much more compare to my takeout box. I was told to buy from any nearby 7 eleven store. The checkout next day was not very pleasant either. The staff at the front desk was kindof not in the mood. They wanted to charge me for minieral water from my room which i didn't consume. Error made by the chambermaids.

European charm

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Monterey Sapporo. The European themed is so charming. However, the wifi in the room is quite weak.
