Was great place with beach nearby, too bad we missed dining at the hiding because of new years but a lovely place with the pool the children enjoyed in. The instructions were clear and we had no problem checking in late in the night

Loved our stay at The Golden Sands resort!!! The communication was awesome and the hotel itself was lovely it was very clean and nice and easily accessible, had a great loogan style pool, the area is very quiet overall we had a great time and if we travel up that way again we will definitely be visiting again!

A fantastic spot. Great hospitality, cleanliness and communication from the staff. Very comfortable room, huge bed, well shaded picturesque pool, right next to a strip of rainforest that separates you from the beach by just 150m. Warm evening walks on the beach with access to two good restaurants, Hidden@Yorkeys and Ten06. I was considering giving a negative review so I could keep this secret all to myself.

The receptionist was very kind and the conversation became fun. The room was spacious and clean. We had a washing machine and a dryer, and we had a very comfortable time. It's close to the sea, there's a tennis court and basketball goal.

Pleasant Stay

The one bedroom apartment was clean and comfortable. Shower and air conditioning were good. Location is in quiet street with good parking. The apartments are not serviced. This is fine but given the savings on cleaning the complex makes when you stay a week I would have expected supplies of toilet rolls etc to have been replenished. It’s a minor thing but somewhat annoying. Overall a good stay.

Wij hebben een paar heerlijke dagen gehad. Dit kwam door het ruime appartement, de tropisch aangelegde tuin rondom zwembad en ontbijt en lunchruimte. Ook kwam je via een paadje bij zee uit. Het voelde echt als een retreat. Het inchecken ging vlot. We zouden zo weer boeken.

The property had a very relaxed feeling with a lovely lagoon. I enjoyed the tennis and basketball courts. It was nice being outside of the hustle and bustle of Cairns. My only feedback would be upgrade the bed, as a sensitive sleeper it was very bouncy as my partner moved throughout the night. Thanks for a great stay.

Great location nestled amongst mature palm trees and a stone’s throw from the beach. 2 clean spacious units were perfect for 2 adults and 3 kids and perfect for self catering. Lovely mildly heated pool and the tennis court kept us all occupied when we weren’t out and about. Carl and Mandy were awesome and super helpful. Would definitely come back and recommend if you’re hitting the Cairns area.

Hotel review

Excellent 11 night stay having arrived in Cairns for relocation. Hotel is in a wonderful location right on the beach and within walking distance to small shops, bar and cafe. There is a lovely tropical pool onsite too along with a small restaurant/bar. Our room had everything you would require and was clean and tidy. The hosts communication was brilliant and we couldn’t recommend the hotel enough.

Spacious, calm, little cleanliness and comfort

It is a correct place, in a very quiet place. The photos correspond to the place. The good: there is no noise, it is spacious, it has a very well-equipped kitchen, the bed is good, the bathroom is spacious. What we didn't like: we were 3 adults, the person who slept on the sofa bed had very average nights. It was very uncomfortable, the person would slide because it was not horizontal and did not have enough support. The room was never cleaned, they left us vacuumed, but we expected a minimum of cleaning for a week. It was our responsibility, even, to take out the trash. We had a washing machine, but it was dirty, the clothes came out stained. There is a terrace, full of dust, leaves and dirt. There are no elevators. Although we were on the lower floor, I can't imagine the discomfort for those who have rooms on higher floors, carrying luggage up the stairs. The pool does not look clean. It's pretty, but it looks like settled water, which doesn't inspire confidence about cleanliness. It is in the middle of plants, which drop leaves and look yellow. The beach is not as close as it seems in the description. The bathroom does not have comfortable spaces for use by 3 people. The amenities are the most basic and of very standard quality. We did not expect this quality of accommodation, considering the location and the price paid. There is no safe and reception availability is limited. This is the perfect place, clean and quiet. Outside the city in a peaceful area, very short walk to the beach. Wonderful pool on site. Having a car is recommended to get around but very close to attractions in the area.
