An amazing overnight stay in a lovely little property in brecon. We stayed in "adventurers abode". My partner, our two dogs and I really enjoyed. On arrival we collected the key from a secure lock box outside the property (a code was provided by email prior to arrival). To the rear of the property there is a gate which opens to lovely mountain paths for nice walks, thankfully the weather was lovely enough for this. Even if it was not we would have equally enjoyed just staying in the property. We would have written in the guestbook provided but we did not have a pen. We look forward to returning at some time in the future.

Beautiful site
It’s a fabulous property in a stunning location. Comfort throughout and ample space for a party of 4 - in terms of relaxing, dining, sleeping, and entertainment.
Excellent communication with owner via email as well, with detailed guidance on access, parking, and other key info being shared in advance. Thoroughly recommend.
BUT: worth being aware of checking out times. Hotels.com list this property 11am, when in reality we were (before arrival) directed by the owner to leave for 10am.

Great place, even in winter!
Stayed with some friends, the location was amazing, can't wait to return on warmer days. Stayed in ramblers: underfloor heating, beautiful bathroom and fully equiped kitchen. Cracking master suite. Sofa bed was not the best, worth bringing bedding for extra comfort. Over all, a good choice.
The property is set in a stunning location, just make sure you read all the directions properly as some sat nav's and Google can take you to the wrong location.
The under floor heating makes the downstairs very cosy but be aware when they say it takes 'a while to warm up' it took around 12 hours on our stay so maybe take some slippers for the first day, if going in winter time.
The communication from the owners and the welcome pack were friendly and very welcoming.
All of our party said they would recommend this place and would all definitely book again.
We had a lovely time staying here, it was a very cosy place for us to tuck away in during quite a rainy period. The master bedroom has a window that lets a lot of light through it’s blind on a morning but we were rising early and so this wasn’t a problem for us. Lovely communal spaces and very conciencious hosts who were very easy to get in touch with if we needed them. Very powerful showers and a relaxing spa bath. The views (that we could see when the weather was better) were incredible.
This was high standard self catering cottages. Lovely features in the converted barn, fantastic shower. The bedding let the place down slightly but the biggest let down was all the misinformation between hotel.com and information from the hotel. Payment was taken at a different time than advertised, checking in time was much later than advertised and checkout earlier. I wish we'd been informed we'd need to bring toilet paper as we had to waste time finding a shop to buy some as insufficient amount were provided for two nights. There was little information on where dogs were allowed and no dedicated outdoor seating area. We had booked so we could stargaze from the accommodation but the floodlights kept turning on reducing the black nights experience. It was a good base for days out but we felt there were room for improvement.
We visited the Brecon Beacons over (Bucks) half term during Oct 2018. Rhiwddu Barns consists of multiple units and we stayed 6 nights at the Rambler's retreat. We had a wonderful time in the area and loved coming back to the barns from our day trips. The flat is very well equipped with underfloor heating and a full kitchen. The bathroom is modern, very large and charming. The upstairs floor almost feels like a self-contained area with own sofa and TV. Overall, the place is huge for 2 and doable for additional two small children (if small and ok to share a sofa bed) or one older child.
Great location on the mountain, but nowhere near other amenities, which is to be expected. Excellent scenery, quiet location. We regularly stay in the area and have tried many short term holiday lets, and this one is the cleanest yet, with well appointed equipment and decor throughout.
The most beautiful location, the most stunning and tastefully decorated property, the Ramblers Retreat cottage was the perfect place to return to after a long day walking. It was warm and cosy, with all the amenities you could ever need. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
