Great location in a lovely place. Small and basic but functional and good value considering what you can pay in Tauromina.

The best thing about this hotel is its nearness to the Corso Umberto, or one of the main streets in Taormina. It is only a 5-minute walk to the Catania Gate, where the taxis are also located. Other than that, the only other attractive thing about the hotel (or B&B?) was that the room had a/c. There was no breakfast. There was no towel service. The towels we received upon our arrival were the only ones we were given. And the dirty ones were not collected. There was no daily cleaning. Communication was difficult as the owner/manager spoke only the Sicilian dialect, a language for which there is no language book with necessary travel phrases. The hotel is in a tourist location, so the owner/manager should have better written and oral communication skills. There was no such difficulty in other places in the area. Most waiters and shopkeepers in the area spoke several languages. In all our travels, we can usually find a common language to communicate in. Not so at this hotel. If you opt to pay in person, know that this hotel accepts only cash in the local currency. This is not specified on its website. I hope this is corrected for future inquiries. We come to Taormina quite often and this is the first time we had encountered any obstacles. Taormina is such a lovely city with quite a lot to do. Corso Umberto has numerous restaurants and street musicians. I certainly recommend the city for an extended stay. But I do not recommend this hotel (or B&B?).

I expected much more.

In Nov 2017 we were persuaded to join a discount club paying approx £1500 that was going to unlock generous discounts both of hotels & travel for 5 yrs. This was our first use of it, paying £499 for 2 weeks. It was simply far too small, and barely worth the cash we paid never mind getting a discount. There was an extra single bed in the room which we did not need but took up what bit of extra space there was. It would have been far better used had there been a couple of easy chairs and a small table which there would have been room for. As it was, there was only one odd chair so we had to sit on the bed with our legs stretched out. The bed heads were loose & banged on the wall when you first leaned back. The kitchen was too small, had a central light in the ceiling but there was no switch, so the only light was a wall light, but you were in its shadow. The cooker had 4 gas rings, but we only needed 2, no microwave, no kettle, but we did heat water in a stainless steel jug, and had to use a plate as a lid. The fridge was shared with another flat in the building, but caused no problems. We had food & coffee for DIY breakfasts, which was appreciated. There was balcony with a "view" of a brick wall almost in touching distance, that was still awaiting its coat of rendering. I did send an email enquiry in Italian to ask if there was a parking space, but had no reply. We did not bring a car and there was nowhere to park it. No English TV, so not good value for money.
