exceeded my expectations

Beautiful and peaceful property perfect for our first visit to Sayulita. Included breakfast every morning, the best breakfasts I've had in the last few years of travel in US and Asia. The friendly property manager provided top notch service everyday so we could truly enjoy our mini-vacation. I plan to return and I am recommending Casa de la Ballena to friends and family.

Wonderful, small property. Rooms were perfect and nicely furnished. Breakfast was always really great. Gym on the upper floor was well equipt. Felt totally safe, comfortable and quiet.

Couldn't be better!

Wonderful all around. Clean, close enough to the action to walk to easily. Just far enough to be quiet. Breakfast was fantastic every time. I seriously can't wait to go back.

Wonderful Stay!

What a beautiful location. Our room was large and clean. The pool area was beautiful. The breakfast was very good. But best of all, the staff was so friendly and accommodating. (My friend spoke Spanish so that helped, but they speak English there too.) Someone recommended it to me and I'm so glad I chose it. I highly recommend it too.

This was a peaceful oasis in a busy place. The rooms were beautiful and spacious with polished concrete floors, a little kitchenette with a full sized fridge, a comfortable couch and bed. The location was excellent to the centre square of the town (less than 5 minute walk). The staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic in the beautiful courtyard. The gym is spacious, has relatively new equipment, and is air conditioned. There is also a great view from the gym!

The small hotel was absolutely perfect. Martin was incredibly sweet. No noise in the evenings which was so nice. Calm, private, clean & super relaxing. The included breakfast & lattes were delicious too! I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a serene/chill vibe.

Loved this hotel! Martin and his staff treat their guests like family. The property was well kept, in great condition, and very comfortable. Downtown is a short walk and it was nice to be a little outside the busy area. The neighborhood felt safe and the itself was a little oasis. Also, the daily breakfast offered a variety of options and was delicious. I would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed the beautiful property, whether lounging at the pool or sitting in the dining area. The hard-working staff was very pleasant and it was a joy to walk into our lovely super-clean room at the end of a busy day. Martin, the manager, was helpful, no matter the request. The room was spacious and the little kitchen had everything necessary to prepare a meal. Only 5 minutes walk or less, to the beach and the town! If I had to come up with one suggestion, it would be to add grab bars in the shower. Otherwise, it’s a lovely oasis!

Hotel of silence

The property is beautiful. Room was nice except no TV. Was not allowed to make any noise. Was our first vacation and last one for that hotel. They take all day to clean the rooms. Even though there was only four rooms with guest in them. After a long couple days on the beach you want to relax in ur room by watching some TV and couldn’t. They told us they had TV by pool but when we asked it wasn’t connected. So this was not a good stay.

Amazing hotel

We stayed at Casa de la Ballena during our recent 10 day Sayulita trip and absolutely loved it. The location of the property is less then a five minute walk into town, so no need for a golf cart unless you plan to explore further out. For as much noise as there sometimes is around the town, our experience while in the hotel was always extremely peaceful and quiet. The entire property always felt clean, safe and really secure. The pool was a perfect place to lounge on the days we didn’t want to hangout at the beach and kept us cool in the heat. From 8-11am you’re also welcome to join on the patio for breakfast and coffee, which was included in your stay and really delicious. You’re provided a small menu of options, spanning from pancakes and bacon to chilaquiles, and everything was super yummy. Martin and his staff are incredibly polite, accommodating and take a lot of pride in the property. The place was even more beautiful then the photos led on. I highly recommend staying here and plan to make it our regular spot from now on.

Amazing stay at Casa de la Ballena. Martin and the hotel staff are very warm, welcoming and kind. The property and the casitas were stunning, full of everything you need. Amenities (breakfasts + filtered water) were greatly appreciated. The garden is pristine and the pool was incredible. We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay here (and away from the busy town center). We are looking forward to returning again in the future. Thank you!

Beautiful and secure property. Amazing breakfast in the morning, anything you’d want. Gracious host. All amenities were available. We stayed here because it was close to town, but yet not enough to have the noise. However, the first night the owners and a couple guests had a late night party (2am) in the hot tub, which was right next to our room. It was constant talking and laughing, we could hear every word. I’m cool with something til 10 or even 11. But 2am was disrespectful. It’s a very small property and I’m sure we weren’t the only ones bothered by this. I’d go back, but hesitant because of that event.

My husband and I absolutely loved the peace and tranquility of this modern boutique hotel. It’s an adult only hotel which was lovely and felt like a spa. It had good amenities and if we needed anything at all the staff went above and beyond to get it to us immediately! The staff at this hotel were all incredibly kind, helpful and very friendly and we would highly recommend and stay at this property again. Thank you Casa de la Bellena for a wonderful stay!
