Great location and good value for money.

Really friendly and helpful staff from both receptionists and woman who serviced the room. Great location in Townsville and food at Metropole also good. Decided to extend for an extra night as so good. Great value for money

Property is in need of renovation. Good location but is looking tired. Bed was good. Room had a balcony if you want fresh air. Room was clean. Check in and out easy and efficient.

The room had a very musty smell that detracted from the night we stayed. Fixtures and fittings a bit dated and in need of work - and towel rails for 2 towels would be good! (but very minor point) Staff were lovely!

The door for room A or B was loud when shutting. My neighbour just let it close numerous times in the early morning. Maybe slow self closing or signs to be considerate to others?

The property itself is outdated,and it’s under construction.i booked 2rooms with dual keys,but the other room is so stink and smelly.when we arrived the hotel there’s no receptionist in the front.not worth the money.this is honest review.avoid this hotel if you can,the pool itself is very dirty.ooh on our last night here we need to evacuate in the midnight due to fire alarm went on.bad experience, and I’m disappointed .I won’t come here ever again!!!NEVER!!!

False advertising poor service

We didn't stay at this hotel as it was falsely advertised on the website The Oaks Metropole is nothing like the Oaks Gateway which is what we considered it would be.The reception were very unfriendly not welcoming and gave us a very poor service.

Couldn't use the balcony and enjoy the view with neighbours smoking us out with cigarette smoke. Suggest smoking in areas of motel with similar people. Smokers next-door to smokers not like what we experienced. Paid good money for a balcony with a great view just to not be able to use it.
