Some hit and miss on my second visit to istay

My second visit at istay. This unit seems a bit old and poorer condition compared to my first visit. :( Kettle was a bit rusty inside; dryer couldn’t dry my clothes properly and hence I need to sun them at the balcony :( Front desk staff are nice and helpful :) Maybe istay should offer unlimited free WiFi, and this will certainly be an added bonus for my stay of 9 nights.

Residence in the CBD

No daily housekeeping (even trash have to be discard ourselves) No aircon unit in one of the room (only available in the common area and one of the room (not specified in the room details) Have aircon but no remote control. So what is the point of having a aircon unit. Hot beverage is only restocked if you stay for more than 8days continuously (not specified in the room details) Tried emailing them before booking but no reply. No choice have to proceed with booking due to graduation.

Selected hotel as it was near Bus Station

Stayed in this hotel for 6 days. Was told that there will be not room service unless we stayed for 7 days. Had to throw our own rubbish and clean our room. Had to use the same towels provided for 6 days. If you need more coffee/tea, change of towels, etc...there is additional charge.

Service apartment type hotel at good location

Room was spacious (had sit-out) and clean, though view towards the road and houses was a let down. Location is a plus but parking space for guests (extra) is dependent on availability as it is in a shared facility. I got stuck when my parked car was blocked by another guest that I could not drive to the airport. Hotel exterior photo on website gives impression of a new branded hotel but inside (especially lobby and lift) has a feel of a dorm type service apartment.

Airconditioner and wardrobe available in only one bedrm. The other rm had neither. Apartment is super tiny. Stains on carpet. Walls need a new coat of paint. Quite a distance fr rundle mall.

Decent service apartment hotel

The hotel is some distance away from shopping streets such as East End and Rundell Mall. It's not too much of a problem for us because we hire some nice bicycles from Bicycle South Australia, which is not too far away.

Beautiful place to stay in with very good view of the city. Bed and pillows are comfy. Sink in toilet is a little small and the tap in the kitchenette is a little hard to operate without splashing water around the tabletop. Overall am happy with the 1 night stay we had.

iStay Precinct - over-rated

The hotel is within walking distance of the Chinatown area and Central Market. If offers basement parking facilities, although parking spaces are limited. I booked a two bedroom apartment this hotel as the price appeared reasonable for the space my family needed. While our apartment was spacious and generally clean and bright, it had a worn-out feel about it - the carpets were stained and there were marks on the walls. One bedroom had a window that would not close and the bedroom was consequently rather cold, it being winter in Adelaide. The service staff took an hour before visiting my room only to tell me that servicing had to be done by the maintenance person the next day. He could not offer me another room as all the rooms were booked. No other remedy or compensation was offered. While my experience may well be an isolated incident, in my opinion it speaks poorly of the hotel management - the management was not fully aware of the maintenance issues in its hotel and it made little effort to alleviate the discomfort of its aggrieved customers. My recommendation is that experienced travellers who want the certainty of a trouble free experience, and are used to the standards of good hotels elsewhere should avoid this property.

9th floor apartment.

Stayed for two weeks, in 9th floor apartment , which was not as good as previously stayed on 14th floor which had a bigger and better situated balcony. Generally facilities and cleanliness were good although washing machine needed my wife’s attention (deep clean).

Unfortunately the property was dirty had bugs the corridor had a bad smell. One of the nights the lifts didnt work so we had to use stairs and then there was renovations on one day in the above level drilling started like 7 30am
