A bit dated but perfectly OK. Lovely big room, clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful and a nice full English breakfast (included in the price). Would definitely stay again.
Quiet position near the town and park. The staff at breakfast was very friendly and remembered our individual orders from one day to the next. The facilities in the en-suite were adequate, although small in space.

The property was in need of refurbishment. Room and bedding clean but the shower cubicle was in need of a deep clean. Breakfast was very good but served from 8am which was too late to accommodate us on the first day of our stay
Beautiful period property with stunning rear garden and mature trees.
Perfect poached eggs on whole grain toast , which after my muselie was a great start to my day .
Thankyou John and your chef ✨️👌

The hotel was a quaint old British house with high ceilings and wide stairs. A little bit dated and possibly in need of some cosmetic improvements, but very nice, quiet and relaxed. The rooms were relatively spacious and clean, and the breakfast was very good. Staff were extremely friendly and polite, and the location was close enough to the town centre and the train station, without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle of a busy street. A park was nearby and some nice pubs within easy walking distance. The back garden would be great if it had a bit more seating as it was a nice size.
Oh dear, what a disappointment! This hotel has the air of a 1970s B&B Guest House. We had to ring a doorbell twice to be let in. A reviewer wrote in 2013 that its decor needed a revamp. It doesn't appear to have had one. The only rooms we saw were our bedroom and the breakfast room. The sign outside claims Bar and Restaurant - neither were in evidence. Our bedroom was cramped with a sloping ceiling that met the bedhead, and the en suite shower room was very small and in need of a complete refit. However, the room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was ok, but limited - full English (or a subset of that) and toast, fruit juice and tea/coffee.
If you just need a place to sleep for the night, this is ok, but if you want more pleasant experience, try a Premier Inn.
Rebuilt villa about 10 minutes walk from city. Nice and clean, good sized room even if standard. Nice staff and good breakfast. Unfortunately the bed was very hard.
It’s been over 6 weeks since I was supposed to stay at this hotel and I am still waiting for my refund from hotels.com / the hotel.
I had booked 2 rooms on 2 separate bookings and 1 of those did not get through to the hotel, despite the fact I had the confirmation from hotels.com and I booked 2 months in advance.
The lady at reception, while pleasant, was not the receptionist and had to call the manager John to deal with us, it transpired the hotel was full so we only had the 1 room. We had to make alternative arrangements. John agreed to refund the room we had there as we weren’t going to use it, however, said we had to do through hotels.com because he didn’t know how to work “internet things”. I immediately contacted hotels.com and they have been so unhelpful I am still waiting for my £85 back.
In the time we were at this hotel:
1) some paramedics barged in looking for someone who’d made a call and it was chaotic and no one at reception knew anything about it.
2) a lady carrying a 1/2 bottle of vodka stumbled in.
I felt like I was in an episode of faulty towers
It was pleasant quiet hotel . we were welcomed at reception very nicely. The breakfast was amazing and nice room and sheets. Everything good clean well displayed. No problem with it at all really.

B&B Not hotel
Not a hotel, only B and B available, wifi useless, clean but tired and could do with a freshen up, some of furniture again dated.
This is the second time we have stayed here. A little bit old fashioned but clean and well maintained. I had advised the hotel we would be late arriving, we were met at the door with a smile. Breakfast was excellent.
The staff were very accomodating and allowed me a very early checkin and to leave my car there all day. They gave me an early breakfast and were very very helpful
