It was challenging finding the apartments at first, being new to Auckland and with ongoing roadworks. Although a map was provided by the hotel , it was not very detailed with no landmarks and our GPS could not direct us due to roadworks that meant some roads were closed. Hence we drove around in circles a few times in peak hour traffic until we found the correct road to turn into. Nonetheless once we checked in we were pleased with the hotel and amenities. The room had everything we needed and was clean. We are also grateful to have been given a larger room than we had booked! The hotel is also well located near shops. I think once roadworks have completed the surroundings will be even better.

Extremely bad engineering in terms of plumbing. One of my cosmetic creams exploded in my toiletries bag during the flight so we had to clean up the bag between the shower cubicle and the sink. As a result the bathroom floor started getting a little sticky and we gave the floor a quick hose-down. To our extreme horror, the water started gushing out of the bathroom towards our living room for 2 reasons: 1. Bathroom floor was ELEVATED compared to the rest of the apartment. 2. Bathroom floor trap was ELEVATED compared to the rest of the bathroom. We have already lodged a complaint with the reception, who said that they will feedback the matter to the facilities manager. The reception staff and housekeeper were thankfully very apologetic and helpful regarding the affair; the receptionist took photos as records while the housekeeper helped us to clear up the mess.

Excellent location and the staff were awesome and easy to deal with, unfortunately the room was not to the standard shown in the photos. There were holes in the wall which hadn’t been adequately fixed, carpet had numerous stains, as did the duvet on the bed. The room condition was well below the standard you would expect for the price.

Then location was perfect, but the map described it as Epsom location so when we discovered it was in the middle of Newmarket we were thrilled. The bathrooms were not clean and needed a good scrub. Nice people on the front desk who were helpful and pleasant.
