My stay was very good. The location was excellent. They have nice lockers for luggage storage. The people working the front desk are congenial and friendly. The rooms are quite comfortable, just like the pictures, and quiet. The only criticism I would have is that the hallways are rather creepy.

Roomy and comfortable

We had a great stay in Ghent!! The studio was roomy with comfortable furnishings. The staff was helpful and friendly. The only thing I’d say that was odd, is there is a fine if you don’t wash your dishes. Isn’t that part of cleaning the room? We’ve never seen that before.

Incredible location! Perfect for our first trip to Ghent. Plenty of space for two of us (adults). The bathroom glass makes privacy an issue if you are not a couple, and as noted on many other reviews, the shower gets water all over the glory. Those small bathroom issues would not sway us from staying here again though. We loved the property and the vibe of the place. They have done an incredible job with preserving it. I highly recommend this as a place to call home during a Ghent visit.

Lovely 3 night stay

Had a wonderful 3 night stay. Great location with fantastic rooms which were very clean and well presented Had an issue on night with noise due to either the guttering or building cladding knocking against the wall due to the high wind and rain. But reception moved us to a new room with no fuss and we had no further issues Would stay here again

Wonderful hotel and friendly staff. My real only complaint is that they have no air conditioning! Kind of a big deal and we were there in weather that was 80 to 95 degrees.

Wouldn't Stay Here Again

Our 2 night stay was just okay at Getaway Studios. The front desk staff weren't friendly or welcoming when we showed up a little bit early for check-in, they just shuffled us off to the locker room where we could store our bags. Wifi worked only sometimes and the rooms weren't very sound-proof.

Upon arriving we were told checking in before 3 was not possible, no problem as there were lockers available to leave luggage in. Came back later and checked in properly. Key card didn't work twice and a member of staff had to escort us up to the room the third time to make sure it worked. Not a great start but at least we're in. The studio itself was fine. A few things could have made the stay more enjoyable. Instant coffee provided but nothing else. Microwave but no toaster (probably a fire hazard issue though). Only one set of towels were in the room which meant another trip down to reception to get more. Next day we came back around 1pm and our key card had again stopped working. Reception was locked up and no member of staff to be found. As we didn't want to waste our time we came back later to get it sorted. I would suggest that physical keys, whilst bulkier, would probably suit this property more as these technical issues are incredibly frustrating when the reception is unmanned. Having paid for the room, guests want to be able to access them. Final morning housekeeping let themselves into our room before 10am, despite us checking out that day and the check out time being 11am. This may be seen as a polite "making sure guests are awake" thing on check out day, but comes across as more like a "please get out". Despite the cleaning fee, we had to do our own washing up and tidying before leaving. Overall a fine but frustrating stay.

I really enjoyed our three nights at Getaway. First, it was easy to get to from Gint Saint Peters and also from Gent Dampoort train stations. It was really quiet our whole stay and the kitchenette was helpful. The place is really close to downtown and we got a lot of walking in to all the sites in Ghent. There isn't AC but we didn't really notice there is a fan that we used and the room did not get any direct sun. lastly, the lockers were helpful because we arrived before our check in time and we didn't waste any time seeing Ghent. I would stay here again without question.
