Homely stay and central location
Booked a 2-bedroom service apartment, just right for 4 people. Great for visitors to Canberra and ANU, who want to explore the city with ease and feel at home (be able to cook, and clean their clothes).
Pros:
(1) Convenient. 10min walk to Canberra Centre/ Coles Supermarket and ANU; lots of food options around. <5min walk to tram system. Many travel brochures at the lobby for your reference.
(2) Comfortable beds, extra blankets and pillows, spacious living area. Heaters are working great. Just note that only the living room and one of the bedrooms has a heater. If your room is facing the road, expect a little noise from the traffic.
(3) Well stocked kitchen, great for cooking.
Cons:
(1) Some old faulty appliances, like the washing machine and microwave. However, inconvenience was minimized as staff made alternative arrangements and I was already checking out. The refrigerator was alright, but it had a dial-type cold setting which was set to the coldest and we hadn’t noticed, causing some of the groceries we put inside to literally freeze. After realizing, we changed the setting and it was fine
(2) Only 1 complimentary packet of detergent (sufficient for one heavy wash), had to pay for extra (AUD$1) even though I’d booked 3 nights
(3) One of the bathrooms had a bathtub which you had to climb in, no grab bars, challenging for if you have mobility issues
(4) Low quality dishwashing soap
