The surrounding area is bustling with shops and eateries. A lot of asian food choices. But the property is not soundproof enough. Noises from the streets still audible at night and affect sleep. Furnitures and carpetry are old and lightings are dim.

I would like to commend your staff when on the way to the airport in my booked cab i realise i must have dropped my wallet in the hotel room on 23rd April morning about 9.30am. My booked cab turned back and when i reach hotel about 20mins later, my wallet was returned to me. Thank you and highly recommended as it will be a real hassle to get replacement of identity card plus credit card, etc

Wonderful accommodation and location! Chinatown and CBD, and major attractions all within walking distance or accessible via public transport. This is our first time in Melbourne and we thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay here.

Nice hotel with friendly staff, in CBD Melbourne

Hotel was in the Chinatown of CBD Melbourne, near lots of restaurants and eateries. Hotel concierge staff were friendly and prompt in assisting us when our room keycards malfunctioned, and in extending checkout time when we requested for it. We love their idea of placing home-style fruits-infused water in their lift lobby for guests to hydrate themselves especially during the hot days of summer.

Best apartment in the city for family & friends...

We had a great time with our little one. He enjoyed the stay. With restaurants and supermarkets just 5 minutes walk away from the apartment, made it so much easy. The apartment also had a carpark for hassle free parking.

Still an ice place to stay.

Stayed at the Mantra in Russell before, always have enjoyed it. Still did. But noticed that it had a feeling of struggling to survive. Room waters were never refreshed once emptied, little things like that, and when talking about a late checkout, rather then see if possible, it was an instant yes with a $20 per hr charge added to the bill. Just got the feeling things were tight and that little things which once were just kinda done, no longer would be unless requested and charged for.

Melbourne getaway break

Checked on arrival prior to check-in time and was offered a room for immediate occupancy. Staff friendly and efficient at all times. Close to China Town's little Bourke Street with cooking smells coming into the room when the windows were open. This did not cause us a problem but may affect some.

Negatives: 1.) We booked 2 one- bdr. apartements with balconies, however, not one chair or outdoor table on these balconies. Totally empty. The idea was to sit in the sun sometimes abs get some fresh air. This is why you hook a balcony and ist more. 2.) no recycling bins in any of the 4 units in our group, though signs how much the hotel tries to recycle. 3.) breakfast was good, the coffee machine was the cause of much frustration with lots of guests. Positives: Very friendly staff, from the reception to the staff in the breakfast are, always helpful and service with a smile. Thank you!
