Very good location. Apartment is very clean and tidy with all the necessary amenities. However it may be difficult to get attention from reception as there were no one in sight at the reception desk nor a bell to ring for assistance during their working hours. Had to call multiple times also to the reception from the room line before someone picks up to assist. Nonetheless, customer support was great once I've managed to grab their attention.

conveniently located with nice staff. however, housekeeping kept forgetting to replenish the soap and shampoo. They even cleared the half used ones and didnt replace them with new ones. Not a big issue but I kept having to go down to the front desk to collect amenities which was a hassle.

Location is decent, but everything else....

While the location is pretty near to the central area of Melbourne, everything else requires improvement. The rooms are not sound proof hence we were able to hear noises in the middle of the night from the corridor, the streets outside.. I was kept awake the whole night. Room had a very musky and foul smell. Carpet does not look the cleanest and my husband's foot bled twice due to either some rough surface/glass pieces on the floor. The furniture look tired and requires a massive overhaul. There was also some food stain on the kettle in our room, which is really gross. Water heater is also slightly erratic. Not the best experience, so we will not stay here again...

Great stay at Punthill Little Bourke

Great location and very reasonable prices. Theatres and wide variety of food outlets are practically at your doorstep as the hotel-apartment is within Chinatown. Great and attentive service from the staff (especially Joseph). If you need retail therapy, malls are just a 5 minute walk away. I would definitely recommend this hotel-apartment to all and will stay there again on my next trip. :-) Just one request - why are the walls of the corridors done up in black? Perhaps it is for easy maintenance but I think a lighter colour will go a long way to make the corridors more appealing and "friendly".

Punthill Little Bourke 's location is excellent. It is near to restaurants and cafe and all major shopping centres. The rooms are spacious especially the spa bathroom. The pantry is pretty sufficient to prepare a simple meal or breakfast. I would stay here again when i visit Melbourne city.

A home away from home in an excellent location

Stayed overnight on business travel. The studio bedroom has a kitchenette, washer & dryer and lounge area which is perfect if you need a fully functioning home away from home. Great location (500m away from Emporium/Melbourne Central), easy to get around with lots of great food choices all around. Only thing that irked was the speakerphone function on the landline randomly switching itself on and emitting a high pitched squeal until it was manually turned off.

Would definitely stay here again

Location is quite central but it is on the quieter side of china town so it was a little scary walking back after 11pm with a few drunks around. Service is excellent and the place was clean though I did notice there was no vacuuming during the week I was there. Nevertheless it was excellent value and I would definitely stay there again if there was the autumn sale promo :)

The location of the property is great being right in the centre of China Town but it is next door to a TAB and Pokies venue that attracts undesirables smoking around the entry to the hotel. The room was in serious need of painting and a deep clean. Luckily the bedding and towels were clean, otherwise we would have vacated. Admittedly it was a very cheap rate but feel our room didn't meet my expectations and live up to the recent good reviews.

Room was dated and the AC didn't cool the room even on 18 and highest fan. No extra toilet rolls left by cleaning so if you run late at night, too bad. Toilet was running and fridge was loud.
