The self check in was easy peasy. My room was like a proper apartment. The king bed was especially nice with super cozy pillows and linens. Would definitely stay here again. If you don’t mind not having a front desk person when you arrive in the evening, I don’t think you can beat the price for the area.

Property location is nice, located in an area that you can walk to the main dining options in downtown Detroit, as well as the three stadiums. Would stay here again.

Autorama Stay

The Sonder Gabriel Richard is a great place to stay in downtown Detroit. The apartment was spacious and had all the amenities you would need for a longer stay. Comfortable bed and very nice kitchen. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re coming to Detroit!

The unit was not fully clean upon arrival, no towels or sheets for the pullout. The “Essentials” room was literally just drywall - a construction site. Tv didn’t work (couldn’t connect). Initial appearance of the unit was ok but overall the experience was poor.

Perfect price for a night stay in town! I would definitely stay again. It does seem that the wall/entry door to the hallway doesn't block out noise that well, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world. There's a parking lot directly across the street from the front door that you can pay to park in for the duration of your stay.

Location was good for my intended stay. Recommended parking area was not well cleaned (winter visit) and there were too many vehicles for the space. The exterior of the building was very dirty and run-down in appearance. Room was okay, but the water pressure in the bathroom and kitchen was very week.

Hotel.com did not introduce the necessity to install the special hotel app “Sonder “ before the booking. It was confusing to me. Room was good with the wide window view.

Room was dirty upon check in with no towels or bedding. Took an hour to get both. Cleaned the room myself. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Poor communication.

Great place to stay

The location is outstanding. Was able to walk to a few places for drinks, meals, etc. Parking is close by and not too expensive. The room had a great view and was really quiet and comfortable.
