Nice Environment for Countryside Stay

Nice countryside environment and We stayed in the 4-bed room Rose Cottage. We had a wonderful BBQ as the cottage comes with a gas BBQ pit. Some things are in need of servicing or cleaning. It would be great to provide toiletries like shampoo and shower gel. Lukey the owner was very responsive before and during the stay. We also had the company of 2 donkeys that our children enjoyed playing with. Overall a unique experience but slightly overpriced.

Country side style of stay :)

The host is very friendly and helpful and provide us with the additional information on cradle mountain. The house we got were great and there is heating mat under the bed. The facilities were great too and we enjoyed out stay there. We were able to see wild animals in the late evening around the hotel and its such a lovely scene. We will definitely stay here again when we came back to visit Tasmania and cradle mountain.

Peace and Tranquility

Great place with a view. My wife and I have enjoyed the tranquility of it, away from the hustle of city life, traffic, TV, etc…. Relatively close to Cradle Mountain, (about 40 minutes drive). Nice to see the "night stars" as we lay in bed. Appreciate the hospitality, and hope more people will be able to experience this for a long long time. Best wishes to all.

Great location with cradle mountain view

The great view and full kitchen facilities compensates for the dated feel and old mattresses.

Views were fantastic and drive to closest town to Sheffield was only 12 minutes for cafes & dinner. Perfect spot, drive to Cradle Mountain around 45 minutes. Everything about this place was perfect apart for the dusty accommodation. Could use a good clean & update to broken & dusty blinds, clean windows, loft space very dusty for sleeping in but got through it. There were other cabins on property, we were in the first loft cabin. Maybe the others were cleaner? There was a games room which we would have used (table tennis & pool) if it had not smelled of mould, it seemed it hadn’t been used or sired out in ages. Wouldn’t stay here again, might check out Sheffield stays next time.

Had a wonderful night stay. Beds are super comfy and everything was nice and clean. The huge kitchen with all facilities and a large window with incredible views was fantastic. It is like staying at an aunts house with books, games, dvds and pretty much anything you need. Short drive to Sheffield for food and not too far away from Cradle Mountain where we had been hiking. The only suggestion to make the accommodation top notch would be to get rid of some of the dilapidated outdoor furniture and fencing. Loved seeing the cows grazing and chooks wandering! Thanks for letting us stay.

The property was amazing due to its location, cleanliness and all that was provided within the cottage. The back of the property with horse, donkeys, highland cattle and chickens was surprisingly a amazing thing to see. The game center was a good add on perk but game center needs some update otherwise would be better to leave it closed. It had so many things but all of the things were not in good working order. Within the property, locks for bathrooms didn’t work but rest was all amazing. Overall I would give 4.2 starts out of 5.

Adequate but dated

Stayed in Gumnut cottage. It was adequate. Kitchen cupboards very dated but functional. Bathroom was fine but lacked towel rails. Blinds broken in main bedroom. General maintenance needed. Internet slow -property is in rural location which could account for internet slowness Good communication by owner prior to our stay

The interior was clean and comfortable but dated and a bit of a jumble. The exterior decks/verandahs and barbecue are shabby. The grounds and amenities are a disaster. The property is generally unmaintained and untidy with overgrown gardens, broken fences, broken and rusted outdoor furniture. There is a shabby games room with features like a sauna and spa that are not functioning. It describes itself as a resort and once was but the lack of upkeep means it no longer qualifies.

This property was far more ran down than what the promoted photos show. It was very old and appeared not cared for. The person who greeted us was lovely however I would not recommend this property, especially those travelling with children. The playground and games room was basically unusable.

I do love this place. Yes, it does need upgrading, the games room needs some love, would be nice if the spa was fixed/working. However, my love of the animals, especially the Highland cows, farm stay outweigh the above, and this is why i return whenever up that way. Great location
