Absolutely beautiful. I Had a plumbing issue at check-in and the staff was incredibly helpful and attentive. This resort was more lush and slightly more rural than most of the Princeville condos/vacation rentals. Gorgeous grounds and views.

This property perhaps is best appreciated by thinking of it as a 'condo ' rather than a posh resort. Very well run, clean, close attention to detail, free parking, loaner beach gear etc. If you are expecting water slides and a lazy river...no. Medium sized pool w/ hot tub that we rarely shared w/ anyone. Do note that the upstairs neighbors were loud -- early (4 and 5 am) in spite of 'quiet time'. We complained once and then let it go... Great home base to Hanalei and local beaches.

Two towels. That's all I asked for. We arrived Sunday, and the instructions were that if we needed a change in towels we would have to request the day prior (which was Tuesday). OK fine. But really is it too much to ask for if we missed the request by a day? We stayed an entire week, and instead of ensuring guests were completely satisfied we were told there would be no towel change. The staff only communicated by text which seemed impersonal. We expected more from a top rated resort property. Instead, resort polices were used as barriers to enforce soft rules that could easily be solved through simple accommodation. We will take our business elsewhere next time we visit Kauai. So much for the Aloha experience.

I was only at the Makia Club resort for three days in a 1-bedroom condo and maintenance had to come in twice, once to fix the safe and the other because the washing machine did not work. The walls are also very thin, and you can really hear your neighbors. But the front desk people were very nice and informative when I asked them questions about the area, etc.. Overall, I had a pleasant three day stay.
