Truly an excellent place, the owners didnt hesistate to put the best building materials into the villa. There are at least 5 to 6 towel hangers in bathroom. No stinginess there. The architect did an amazing job making a 2 BR villa look big, and on our first entry we said "wow". The swimming pool was special with lots of little spa like sections, all connected to main section, people can sit around and chat with separate privacy. An 11 am check out time gave us a lovely relaxed last morning. We still checked out at 930 am as habit, but knowing it's 11 am, we didn't feel any rush packing up. An 11am check out time for such a large 2 storey 2BR villa to clean before next customers'check-in at 2 pm, this really gives all the other hotels/motels a tough act to follow.

Reef Villas for the price was perfect for us. Quiet, not too far from town. Villa was clean and nicely presented, bed comfy area surrounding villa clean. It is an old resort that could do with more $$ spent on entry and the back villas. The pool area was Fabulous, We enjoyed relaxing each afternoon in the warm waters.

One of the worst experiences we have ever had as a family. No hot water for the first day. The manager didn’t believe us. Finally sent a plumber the next day. Fixed the hot water service. We asked to change villas which we did on the 3rd day as the original villa was disgusting. But when we moved to the next villa we found this wasn’t any better!!! Heavy mould throughout the property. - Fire blanket and fire extinguishers that have not been inspected since 2017 (legally must be inspected every 6 months). - Smoke alarms not inspected since 2021. - No test and tag on any electrical appliances throughout the property. - Rodent droppings throughout Villa. - Dead frog found within the Villa (not recent as it was heavily decomposed) - Bed bugs through bedding. - Inadequate bedding for weather conditions to which they refused to give us extra blankets and to use the air con, which only had a cold setting and was told by the worker that they only have a few cold nights like this. So deal with it or go buy your own. - Rising damp on buildings due to encroachment of damp proof course. - Rusted outdoor settings. - Plumber also mentioned some items not to code in the original Coral Villa. - Room cleanliness overall was poor. And one of the RUDEST managers we have ever come across. DO NOT STAY HERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The accommodation was great and the staff at reception were fabulous, accommodating, helpful and knowledge on the local area and all thing touristy. Nothing was a problem. The only little issue was my travelling partner was unable to access SBS On Demand or iview (but that may have been due to our "technology IQ"

Pool was great. Accommodation was spacious but in need of an update. Bathroom not in very good state, mould in grouting, water from shower went all over the floor, water from bathroom tap sprayed everywhere.

Not really a 4 star hotel but clean

The front office is hardly open and has very basic amenities and food options. The apartments are quite dated and could do with a touch up. Overall quite clean though. The pool is lots of fun for kids. They request that you empty your bins and do your dishes prior to leaving.

Port Douglas is absolutely stunning. The local area - bars, beaches, reefs and rainforest are incredible. Like lots of other reviewers have commented, the villas at Reef resort are privately owned - so it's a bit of a lottery re whether you have a well maintained or run down villa. What I liked: The pool at Reef Resort is awesome and the staff were fabulous too. I would give these elements 4 stars. What I didn't like: Our villa was quite run down, lounges were quite dirty and furnishing were very basic. No exhaust fans in the bathrooms, no oven, no basic supplies like a cutting board! I would give our villa 2 stars. So overall 3 stars for a mixed experience.

We had an awesome stay here. The girls lace was spotless. The surroundings were clean and quiet. We had some maintenance issue with one of the light switch, which when mentioned to the receptionist, was tended to very promptly. My only qualm is that the restaurant on the premises had absolutely no vegetarian options on the menu except for chips. Not even a Margherita pizza, in their pizza menu.

Nice family friendly location

Great location in Port Douglas. I think some of the villas can be hit or miss, but our Coral villa was nice for a family of four. I did miss an instruction on how to use the microwave/oven/airfryer... but details. Great to have the option to wash and dry clothes. Pool was really great!

Perfectly relaxing

Reef Resort Villas is an excellent place to stay in Port Douglas. The Villas are large (two bedroom), clean, self-contained (including two bathrooms and a well equipped laundry) and have a 'wow factor'. Everything required was provided in a fully equipped kitchen; the lounge was comfortably furnished and included a large screen smart TV and excellent Audio system; and the beds were comfortable with good linen. Staff at reception were most helpful. The grounds were pleasant and included a beautiful pool. An on-call shuttle (5-7 minute delay between calling and arrival) service was cost effective to travel to- and from- town, where all necessary shops, cafes and restaurants were available. Tour operators pick you up from your door. That the Villa was not serviced daily was not an issue, and the 'Restaurant' on site is more a limited-range cafe. Food was available by delivery, but with the excellent kitchen, buying groceries and cooking for yourself works well. For excellent dining options, two restaurants in Port Douglas stand out: Salsa and Melaleuca, both on Wharf Street. Both these offer fine food and service, but while prices were at the top end, they were not excessive. The best coffee in Part Douglas is from Origin Espresso on Grant Street. You will really enjoy Port Douglas and a stay with Reef Villas Resort.

We stayed for 1 night and enjoyed ourselves. The pool area was great, and the restaurant produced nice food. I thought the rooms were a great set up, and was nice to have seperate rooms for the kids. That being said, the lounges are tiny and not comfortable. The gym is sub par and felt the reception could be more friendly. When we arrived, the staff continued their personal conversation instead of greeting us. We stood there for an uncomfortable time before we were acknowledged. The same happened again the next morning when we went to reception to get a gym pass. The lady spent far too long talking to staff about a document. Surely, if they were customer service orientated, she would have told her staff to hold on for a second while she asked us what we needed... I actually had to jump in after a few minutes, and say "I dont mean to be rude, but we are just chasing a gym pass...". I then felt she hesitated to give it to is, considering we were checking out later that day. The wifi is also unreasonable. 2gb a day. And its slow. I turned it off and found normal reception faster. Overall, its nice enough, and we'd stay there again if the price stays competitive.

We stayed for just one night. Pool was amazing loved it. Our apartment could have done with a makeover. Very old inside, broken things, not working, very little hot water, door missing. But the beds where comfy and the upstairs bathroom had been done up.
