Home away from home

We were thankful that our room was ready when we landed early and arrived at 7:30am. It was such a welcome and relief because we were not able to sleep on board the whole flight. We thought we could only check in at 3pm. The room was so clean and comfortable. It felt very homely.

We booked a 2 bedrooms apartment & the room was quite spacious, clean, nice & comfortable for our 4 nights stay, the location is not really convenient but still walkable, overall we all are quite enjoyed our stay at Adina Apartment Hotel in Sydney.

A disappointing visit for us overall. The initial studio room we were allocated smelled of damp, the temporary solution of putting in a dehumidifier in did not resolve this. No other studio room was available leading us to opt to upgrade and pay for a one bed apartment room. Out of 7 days we spent there our room was only cleaned twice, admittedly a couple of time we were in there later than cleaning time but this still does not account for the other days when we left early and the room still was not cleaned. Hence we found the cleaning was substandard, we found a rotting peach in one of the cupboards, washing powder that we accidentally spilled on the bathroom floor was never swept up and on one occasion when the room was cleaned the rubbish bag was left in the bathroom sink for us to find. The air conditioning in our room did not work efficiently, on complaining, the maintenance person sent was adamant that it was working fine and would not be corrected so we just had to drop the subject as it was not worth labouring. The apartments are located in an area with not much around in the way of cafes, restaurants or convenience stores, the small cafe on the corner had closed and the nearest convenience stores in the main road was grubby, so if you want amenities close (within 5 to 10 mins) this place does not deliver. On a positive note, the reception staff were very helpful and the rooms were a great size. Some attention to detail could make the stay much better.

Great Location and service

The Adina was perfect for our purpose of daily trips to Sydney Uni, walking distance. Also a short walk to a good selection of shops and to Newtown for trendy eating houses, and 3 train stops into Sydney central. The staff were fabulous on every occasion. The only drawback was it being a little too tucked away for the likes of a teenagers to catch the train without fear.. The local station has a stigma, admittedly it is fast changing, and we had absolutely no problems.

The hotel is very near Sydney University, which is a big plus. However, the one-bedroom apartment I stayed in was not up to standard in terms of cleaniness. The bathroom tiles were not scrubbed and the kitchen floor was sticky.

The duty manager the day of our arrival was most welcoming and explained the apartment features to us The pool was great for my grandson! He also carried our luggage upstairs for us The apartment was close to Redfern station for transfers to the CBD Will recommend and hopefully stay again on our next visit to Sydney

The staff at Adina were outstanding, incredibly friendly and accommodating. We booked our apartment last minute and our room was organised very quickly for our needs. The shared pool and lounging area is quite Baliesque. Very modern 50’s vibe, very clean, and again, the staff were amazing. Quiet area of Sydney, but close enough to shopping, restaurants, Victoria Park, all by foot. Definitely recommend, particularly for families.

Adina Chippendale was perfect for our family of three. Parking was easily organised. The room was spacious with a full kitchen and laundry in a tidy apartment. Modern furnishings and comfortable beds. Walkable to local pubs cafes etc. We didn't use it but there is an order in service with delivery from local restaurants available also.
