Basic accommodations but clean. No AC but they have portable fan in the room. Very close to ferry and train depot which was important. Nothing fancy but it was clean.

Will do in a pinch

Pricey, dated and lacks some amenities - but not horrific. Water quality in Prince Rupert is terrible - yellow water with wood organics (water mains in the city are wooden and over 100 yrs old - didn't know that was a thing!). However, owners and staff were exceptionally nice and friendly.

Plain but comfortable.

Was not there for long- Was a reasonably spacious room. The hotel obviously deals with a lot of workers, indicated by the "remove muddy workboots" signs throughout. I found them entertaining. Best location if you plan on walking to or from Via Rail, Alaska Marine Highway, or BC Ferries. Floors were not carpeted.

Convenient for ferry

This was on the main road between the ferry terminal and Prince Rupert Very basic room but OK for one night as the ferry didn't arrive till 10;30pm but would't want to stay there any longer

Over priced in Prince Rupert

We visited Prince Rupert in mid September. We were warned that finding accommodation in Prince Rupert might be difficult. After trying on line to find accommodation we found the Anchor Inn. Several other hotels were fully booked. This hotel was 50% more expensive than others we stayed in and was not up to an acceptable standard. Our booking was no refundable. If I could have had seen what I was getting prior to paying I would not have stayed there.

comfortable beds

Beds are fairly comfortable and the room was clean and the staff was friendly. There was no plug for the tub however and when you have a baby with you it helps if they can have a bath. It was quite expensive ($150/night) for what you get.

Not so great

It had no air conditioning and it was extremely worm! The beds also were not very comfortable.

Definitely a working person's hotel

It was clear that this hotel caters to the working class. A boot washing station, tile floors etc, signs everywhere requesting the removal of muddy boots. It worked but was nothing special. Would prefer to stay elsewhere if possible on the next trip.

Anchor Inn Prince Rupert-close to the ferry

This is a very nice hotel. The staff was helpful. The room was clean and large. It had an elevator which was nice for a 3 floor hotel. It is on the main road from the ferry to town which makes it convenient for those traveling that way. We would definately recommend this hotel to our friends.

served the purpose

No improvement since our last stay about 5 years ago. It's the closest motel to the BC Ferry. Except for the location we would never stay there. Kind of a mom-and-pop operation with a clueless staff. Scruffy interior, Breakfast room was the staff family room. Endearing tea cup collection in there though.

Anchor Inn & Prince Rupert /Port Hardy BC ferry

Convenient to BC Ferry terminal especially arriving late evening by train then early morning departure on almost empty, end of season BC ferry to Port Hardy; 13 hour trip. Adequate, comfortable but pricey restaurant and cafeteria on board ferry . Overall, hotel and ferry were good value for money especially the trip down the Inside Passage in almost ideal weather. We even saw one killer whale and a few dolphins. We have now traveled both directions on this ferry and recommend it highly for end-of-season travel.

We arrived at 5:15 am. on the Alaska Ferry. The manager who registered us let us go up to our room right away which we really appreciated. We ordered their appetizer platter that evening and it was excellent.

Anchor Inn Prince Rupert

This hotel does not know the meaning of service. We stayed two noghts on the second night when we told the front desk that the romm had not been made up we were advised house keeping did not come in today!!! The place is taaty and relies on its location relative to the ferry terminal for trade otherwise it would go out of business.

Was a nice spot 30 years ago

I am sure they have the original finish and furniture. The carpets were stainneed, the bathrom tub surround had mold (that we washed off). There is no internet, only a pay as you go station at the reception table. NO AC. The pub restaurent was decent. Overall the comfort you get from the cabin rooms on the BC Ferries is by far superior than this hotel.
