This is a very basic budget hotel, only thing that was a challenge was the small staircase getting to the room on the 3rd floor, apart from that nice staff, clean rooms

Perfect for purpose.

Perfect for purpose, friendly receptionist. Clean and comfortable. Could do with black out blinds on sky window and staircase window. Fan was a saviour in the heat.

Lovely place walking distance to the town centre. Clean and confortable. GBP5 for street parking nearby. Parking ont eh road was easy to find. If you are staying only for the night, there is free parking between 6pm and 8am

Disturbed sleep

The location is great. The insulation is very poor, i could hear the neighbours room the noise from the TV. The mattress is terrible, needs replacing as it was a little lumpy and bump so I couldn't get a good night's sleep for 3 days. The room was ok, the bathroom was very small just enough room for a shower and a toilet. It is walkable distance to the main historical area, the defence walls, the beautifu houses and the pubs on Spice Island so that was a bonus.

Good location

Great location and clean hotel. We stayed in the ground floor room of the cottage and unfortunately we're kept awake by every movement of the people above. Very creaky old building.

Good location and clean, but noisy floorboards

The hotel was easy to find, and we had no problems parking on the street nearby and using the parking pass at £5 a day. We stayed in a recently built annexe (2002?) behind the main hotel, which was a house divided into 4 rooms, 2 on the ground and 2 above. It was clean, with a comfortable bed and the area was quiet, so no problems getting to sleep. The issue we had was that the floor above was very creaky, and they did a lot of walking around starting from 7am. We didn't hear any other noise e.g. talking or TV, so just a specific issue with the floorboards. If you are staying in the annexe, I would recommend that you ask for the upper floor. It is a short walk to Spice Island and Gunwharf Quays, and there were some excellent pubs and restaurants nearby. I can especially recommend the French restaurant "Chambers", where we had an evening meal and breakfast.

Perfect location for shopping 10min walk to G.quey. Quiet area. Everything you need plus some suprising extras (hair dryer, iron fan next door to Italian resturant and opposite Chinese take away.)Very friendly staff nothing to much trouble. Would happily stay again.
