Gite de Vulcain, en Gites des Papillons, en Correze, se completó en 2014.
Aunque tiene características de carácter como vigas expuestas, está equipado con todas las instalaciones modernas que necesita, como TV de pantalla plana de alta definición, reproductor de Blu-Ray y conexión inalámbrica a internet gratuita.
Se ubican en 2 acres de terreno, principalmente con césped, con una hermosa piscina que cuenta con una terraza con tumbonas y sombrillas y un mirador para cuando quiera escapar del sol por completo.
Es un área aislada con mucho espacio para que los niños pateen una pelota y corran. Aquí también encontrarás 2 columpios.

Hay una piscina de 9mx4mx1. 2m con alarma. Esto se limpia todos los días. Es compartido por 2 gites. Hay una ducha y baño de pies.

Alrededor de la piscina hay tumbonas, sombrillas y ¡tenemos fideos para que jueguen los niños en la piscina! A un lado de la piscina hay un mirador para sombra adicional. Una piscina para niños está disponible para niños muy pequeños.

Hay áreas de comedor al aire libre para el uso exclusivo de esta casa rural que tiene mesa y sillas, sombrillas y barbacoas.

Great gite in a beautiful part of France

We had a wonderful stay in Saint-Julien. The gite had everything we needed inside and out and we made great use of the pool and the outside space for playing games. So much to see near here, we enjoyed trips to Lascaux, the night market at Segur-Le-Chateaux, a walk along the Auvezere at Saint Mesmin and chateau at Popadour. Martin and Michelle were great hosts and all communication was excellent.

Great place to relax, really peaceful spot

A great Gite, with everything needed for a relaxing self catering break. The pool area is lovely as are the grounds and surrounds. Plenty of outdoor dining space, both with barbecue and parasol. Martin and Michelle are great hosts and on hand whenever you need. Two bathrooms with shower a real plus for us, as we were four adults. Would highly recommend. Would definitely return with a larger group and rent both Gites. it’s a great setup. Plenty of little towns and villages nearby to visit, a great part of France away from all the crowds.

A week definitely wasn't long enough!

A truly beautiful location - fabulous countryside, charming medieval villages, excellent roads - although cycling would be for the more energetic (very hilly!) The Gite is beautifully decorated and has everything that you could possibly want and having Simone and family nearby was a great reassurance (good advice about where to go & what to do & how to avoid traffic when travelling back as well as good playtimes for my son) The only very tiny fly in the ointment was the very large family group with dogs in the adjacent Gite who did dominate the pool and surround but it wasn't really too bad and we did settle into an unofficial sharing regime regarding the pool!

Comfortable, spacious and lovely place to stay

We took a 3 month long lease over winter at Gite Vulcain and it was a great decision. The gite is very comfortable with quality fixtures and fittings making the stay very enjoyable. With an efficient wood burner which heated the whole gite, we were snug even during the frosty and snowy days. The open plan layout and the large bedrooms add to the feel of spaciousness and the large well equipped kitchen was a delight to prepare food in. Martin and Michelle have clearly thought about how to offer quality accommodation and this shows; this is the nicest gite we have stayed in during all our French trips. We didn't get to enjoy the large garden and the pool but imagined that come the summer, these would be well used facilities. We were lucky to meet our hosts while there, as well as having a lot of communication with them and they are clearly customer focused and easy to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble. If we are back that way sometime, we would love to stay at this gite again.

As you know, although we have owned the place since 2013, last year was the first time we ran it ourselves. Our ambition is to ensure everyone has the best possible stay by means of facilities, amenities and good attentive, but unobtrusive service, from myself and Michelle. We understand guests have a lot of choice in where they stay and we want to try and ensure, wherever possible, we are the best option. It sounds like from your review we achieved much of that, which makes the hard work all worthwhile. Nos hôtes sont charmants et très gentils Une bouteille de vin nous attendait dans le frigo à notre arrivée Le gîte était très propre et pourvu de tout le nécessaire La piscine était très bien entretenue et il y avait des chaises longues confortables ainsi que des parasols La maison est fraîche ce qui est vraiment agréable quand il fait chaud le logement est pourvu d’une table de jardin avec des chaises pour pouvoir manger dehors Un BBQ est mis à disposition La maison est située au calme tout en n’étant pas loin d’un supermarché La campagne est jolie et il fait bon se balader à pied ou en vélo Nous avons passé d’excellentes vacances et nous remercions encore Michèle et Martin pour leur excellent accueil !

Pour ces vacances sous le signe du Covid, nous souhaitions nous retrouver au calme dans la campagne. Le gite de Martin et Michelle était parfait pour nous. Les vieilles pierres protègent de la chaleur et gardent les pièces fraîches. Le gite est parfaitement fourni, électroménager, ustensiles, draps et serviettes, wifi et chaines satellites. La piscine est vraiment très agréable, grande et bien aménagée. Martin l'entretient tous les matins. Martin et Michelle sont des hôtes charmants et disponibles, mais il faut qu'ils travaillent encore leur français :) Ils nous ont renseigné sur tous les bons endroits de la région et conseillé des restaurants. Bref, c'était un séjour parfait, loin du monde, mais avec de la chaleur humaine. Nous vous recommandons vivement le Gite de Martin et Michelle.

Un gîte agréable.

Perdu au milieu de la campagne nous étions au calme. Le gîte est néanmoins situé à proximité de communes telle Lubersac (10 mn) où on trouve des supermarché bien achalandés. Le gîte offre un grand espace avec deux chambres et un séjour spacieux où il est également possible d'y dormir. La climatisation naturelle du bâtiment à forte inertie nous a permis de rester au frais (23°) pendant la canicule (40° dehors). La piscine très agréable (nombreuses chaises et parasols de qualité) et très propre est idéale pour les enfants car peu profonde et suffisamment grande pour quelques brasses (des jeux sont de plus à disposition). On peut également jouer dans le grand pré qui entoure l'espace piscine. Martin le gérant devrait réaménager prochainement l'espace "terrasse" situé devant le gîte où l'on peut prendre son petit dej, déjeuner ou dîner (donne directement sur la fenêtre de la cuisine du gîte très bien équipée du reste). Cet espace est un peu petit et installé sur des graviers... c'est un peu dommage. Le gîte dispose aussi d'un second espace également avec table, parasol, chaises et barbecue du côté piscine mais c'est aussi sur graviers. Martin soucieux du bien être de ses hôtes, nous a promis de régler ce problème rapidement et aussi d'améliorer l'éclairage intérieur qui manque un peu de luminosité. Notons que le gîte est parfaitement équipé. Seul bémol: la télévision n’offre que des chaînes satellites anglaises mais le wifi fonctionne bien et permet de surfer sans problème. On peut par exemple lire des vidéos Youtube sans coupure. Aucun problème d'eau chaude non plus qui est en continu sans limite. Enfin, précisons que l'on peut stationner son véhicule devant le gîte. La cour est de plus placée sous surveillance vidéo. Nous avons passé un très agréable moment dans ce gîte. Attention néanmoins vous serez au pays des vaches alors il faut accepter la présence de mouches... ceci étant dit nous n'avons par contre pas vu un seul moustique! Pour conclure ce n'est certes pas un douze étoiles mais c'est propre, tout y est et les propriétaires sont très sympas.

Dear Raphael, Thank you for your kind comments and 5 star rating we are glad you enjoyed Gite de Vulcain, pool, grounds, surrounding area and amenities. As you say we provide two areas for al fresco dinning. The one outside the kitchen by the gite was added recently following other guest suggestions. I agree it is a bit small but it was a compromise between offering sufficient parking and offering this dining area. We will endeavour to make it larger as we do have plenty of parking space. Both of these areas as you say are on gravel. This is the first comment about that and we will give it serious consideration to concrete them. The light in the living room is a bit low and the previous guests to you broke the standard light we bought to rectify this. I should have replaced it before your arrival and will do so now. As I previously explained we only have UK television and this year we have been pleased to have many more French guests. I have already spoken to our satellite people to come and install a new one for French TV as we can't use the exiting one. A wonderful week, lovely house and great area

Gite was exactly as described on the website, clean, spacious and with good facilities including useful extras like dishwasher, BBQ, Wifi. The pool was just the right size and a perfect temperature for the kids to cool off on what was a really hot, sunny week and garden was big and enclosed, great for the kids and the dog. Gite also stayed nice and cool. Local area was beautiful and loads to do, local markets, lovely horseracing, chateau's, quaint villages and a fantastic lake with beach, pedallos, Go-ape type thing and Wakeboarding centre. Simone and Dave (and their kids) who run the property where lovely and really helpful without being too intrusive. All in all a perfect family holiday.

Charming Gites in lovely countryside

Myself, two grown up daughters plus my brother and sister-in-law had a wonderful week in Gites de Papillon. Simone was a perfect host and gave us much useful local information. The village of Sugur le Chateaux is fabulous and one of the officially niominated most beautiful villages in France. Mondays in the village feature a local festival in season with long table seating and local producers selling great food and wine etc to eat at your outdoor table. The corner shop is where you order your croissants and pain au chocolat for the following day. Fabulous lake with beach and great restaurant 20 minutes away. Local kayaking down the Dronne river is great. Love this area.

A wonderfull place for a family holiday

We are family of 5 (kids 10,8 and 1) and we had the most wonderful holiday. Our 8 year old cried on the penultimate day as his holiday was coming to an end. The Gite and hosts were both amazing. Lots to do within an hours drive. We had a great variety of days out ranging from beautiful lakes, villages, swimming pools and plenty of long lunches. Can't recommend Papillion Gites enough.

Just an outstanding place to stay. I love it :)

I drove to the gite without the aid of Sat Nav and found it without any problems. Jasmin and myself were warmly welcomed upon our arrival by Dave and Simone. The Gite was so well equipped it was better than being at home. The grounds of the property were amazing, so much land to wander around and when it was warm and sunny, just laze around. Lubersac and Pompadour were both only a short drive away and the added bonus of the vets at pompadour being English speaking, infact 1 of the vets is Aussie, bonus! Although we stayed there in winter there was plenty for us to explore and tonnes of dog walks in the area. As to the Gite, well, loads of room, really, really well equipped and the log burner, to die for! Martin and Michelle really did think of everything!! I had the pleasure of meeting Martin and can honestly say he is a really great bloke, on that subject, Dave and Simone could not do enough for me, when my car gave up they sorted a mechanic for me, wood for the log burner, no probs, got that for me too, a vet, told me the best place to go. Was there a down side to my stay there? Yes, I was there 4 months and it was far to short a stay, over far too quickly, this is a place you will want to come back too again and again, I am already planning my next visit there if Martin and Michelle will have me back :)

We are Michelle and Martin. We bought Gîtes des Papillons end of 2013 after we visited our relatives nearby and we fell in love with it. Michelle is a retired beauty therapist and I am now retired after spending 40 years working in agriculture. We have two grown up daughters and a 7 year grandson.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

It is set in the beautiful area of Correze just 5 km from the more famously known Dordogne. It is a quiet rural setting but just 15 minutes away from 3 supermarkets. The area close by has many beautiful villages, Segur le Chateau just 10 minutes away where you can visit the local Marche every Monday. Here you can enjoy wine and food outdoors supplied by local farmers with music and dancing and meet other visitors and the locals. Although quiet and rural close by there are many things to do and see including fresh water lakes and water sports.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The gite is in a converted barn and retains many of the rustic features. However we have ensured we have all the modern facilities to make your visit very enjoyable. The pool is a great favourite with the children as well as the large area of grass to run around in, play football, badminton, boules or swings.
