The owner of this wonderful apartment/villa in Santa Marina Salina is an equally wonderful lady named Beatrice Gallai, who also manages the lovely place. Beatrice could not be kinder or more welcoming or more helpful. My wife and I have been fortunate to have stayed in many beautiful places all over the world, but our time on Salina was notable because of the beauty of the villa and Beatrice's attentiveness. She truly made us feel welcome and at home and happy.The location of the villa is also unbeatable, a few steps from the seaside promenade and many fine restaurants on the village's lovely main street, Via Risorgimento.

Highly recommended

This was our second two-week family stay (five adults) at Villa Maria Terzita (first was in 2015) -- and we'd happily return. We love Salina's low-key, laid-back atmosphere; and Beatrice has created a really chic apartment which is a great combination of comfort, practicality and style, with a view you can't stop gazing at. The flat feels more like a well-appointed house (you can really cook here) and, space-wise, with its huge terrace and neat rear annex, it offers three couples plenty of room and privacy too. For those who worry about this sort of thing, it is also SPOTLESSLY clean! As well as Beatrice's many thoughtful touches (wine in the fridge; coffee in the kitchen; girly goodies in the bathrooms, etc), since our last stay she has added some ceiling fans which, around the time of Heatwave Lucifer, were appreciated, along with the air-con in the master bedroom. Generally though the breeze from the sea wafting over the terrace is all you need. What hasn't changed is the helpful attentiveness of Beatrice herself (a taxi to meet our hydrofoil; lots of good advice); and she remains the dream landlady who really does go the extra mile. Need a Ventolin inhaler and antibiotics in a hurry (which one of us did for reasons that had nothing to do with being on Salina)? Just ask... Trying (very) hard to think of any downsides, it's worth remembering that on Salina the local council may well wait until summer to do jobs they could have done in winter, so someone might turn up on a Saturday night with a chainsaw to attack the umbrella pine outside the house (2017) or even dig up the road outside (2015). But this is the southern Mediterranean, not northern Europe, and both events made us smile rather than scowl. The most serious inconvenience would have to be... that the line on the reel of one of the two fishing rods in the flat was a bit tangled up and took a while to sort out before we could fish from the back of our rental boat. But then as they probably don't say in Italy: "In ogni vita una piccola pioggia deve cadere..."

Highly recommended this beautiful house and helpful host

Bea not only had a great house but also a great host to help you from booking best restaurants to provide tips to surrounding islands. Her house is very tastefully furnished and decorated and a wonderful view. You just crossed the road from the house and swim in beautiful sea. We loved it and highly recommended! Many thanks Bea

Great location, beautiful villa, gracious hostess

Our group of four (two couples) enjoyed an amazing 1 week stay in this well appointed villa by the sea.. We booked the primo piano which had a beautiful terrace for dining and relaxing. The photos really show how well appointed it is. We enjoyed swimming, hiking, shopping and dining all within the convenient location of this villa. No car needed. We were greeted by Caterina, the mother of the hostess. She welcomed us with a gift of local wine and tasty pizza. She came back the next day to take us in her car for a tour of the island! It was an exceptional personal tour from a very proud local. Beatrice was always very prompt and attentive to our emails when we were booking. She had recommended restaurants and arranged a boat tour of the island for us. We always felt like we were chatting with a friend. Incredible experience on the beautiful island of Salina.

Bellissima casa a Salina

Villa Maria Terzita è una bellissima casa sul mare, molto ben arredata, dotata di ogni comfort, spaziosa. La terrazza (patio) sul mare ha una splendida vista ed è molto gradevole starci. Vicinissima al centro e ai servizi, oltre che al porto, cosa utile per le escursioni alle isole vicine. Cordiale e disponibile la proprietaria.

Magical stay at Villa Maria Terzita!

We had a magical stay at Villa Maria Terzita. I must start by saying that Beatrice the host is a star who was in constant contact with us reassuring us that everything was in order and helping us with the transportation from Catania airport to the port of Milazzo for the hydrofoil to Salina with such precision then from the moment we arrived in Salina we were welcomed by a driver who accompanied us to the location, this we did not expect and was a bonus with all the bags we had and a pleasant surprise and the fact that the apartment was only 1 minute drive from the port! Then a warmer welcome from Maria the housekeeper who showed us around etc! We were surprised with a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine in the fridge waiting! What a start of a great vacation. The apartment had everything we needed and more it felt like we were at home rather than staying at a holiday rental! Clean and hospitable. Location perfect just across from the sea and 1 minute walk from the shops, restaurant etc. Beatrice was so helpful making sure we were fine and available for any questions we had she even had a booklet with all the information needed for us to hire a boat, best places to eat where to shop etc. I would highly recommend staying here! And we most definitely in the not too distant future go again in a heart beat! Beatrice thank you so so much for making this holiday special to us!

A room with a view

We lived a 5 star experience in a rental house, never felt so pampered before. Beatrice, the owner monitored our arrival and coordinated with the cleaning lady and the taxi driver to manage our late arrival from Reggio Calabria by boat, the night of a European Cup soccer game of the national team. The place is cozy, furnished with taste and a selection of both Italian and ethnic items, creating a perfect ambience, together with the elegance of a typical Eolian house. The porch, facing Lipari, is perfect for dining outdoor or meditating with a glass of Malvasia afterwords. We stayed in the first floor apartments, the landlord quarters, with a fully equipped kitchen and we were able to play with the mouth washing local produce, to replicate some of the incredible local recepies. This was our sixth time in Salina and all together our best experience on the Island. Beatrice was always available to eventually solve any issues we might have. Grocery stores, boutiques and restaurants are all within 5 minutes walk. We wish many more years of health to that 90 years old gentleman who sells his produce out of his house on the Main Street. That magnificent emerald Eolian sea is just a dive away. We were advised by Beatrice that a tanker would anchor in front of the house to feed the thirsty Island with fresh water. To our party, a mixed bounch of Italians from Rome and Florence and a couple of pure breed Newyorkers, this was just the icing on a cake of an Eolian living experience.

Une semaine au paradis

Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve chez Beatrice. Nous avons été accueillis par sa maman, Caterina, dont la gentillesse, la courtoisie et les gentilles attentions nous ont profondément touchés. La villa est parfaitement située à deux pas du centre de Santa Marina et de la plage del Barone. Elle est parfaitement équipée, meublée avec beaucoup de goût et d'une propreté irréprochable (un grand bravo à Maria). Les nombreux échanges par email avec Beatrice ont été très agréables. Un grand merci pour un séjour sans fausse note. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir.

Une vue magique !

La mer pour horizon. Une terrasse magnifique. Un appartement de grand confort et décoré avec goût. Un accueil chaleureux et attentionné. Un emplacement idéal pour ceux qui veulent rester près du port et de son animation. On se sent bien Villa Maria Terzita et Salina est pleine de charme.

Splendida isola, splendida casa

La casa al primo piano di Villa Maria Terzita è proprio come la si vede nelle foto dell'inserzione, se non più bella. Arredata con gusto, comoda, fornita di ogni comfort, è in posizione strategica, a due passi dal mare e da negozi di ogni genere. E che dire dell'accoglienza dei proprietari...davvero speciale. L'isola di Salina e questa casa hanno reso la nostra vacanza indimenticabile! Last but not least: la vista da casa verso il mare e le isole è strepitosa!

Absolutely fabulous -- grazie mille!

Our family of four stayed in the first-floor apartment for the first two weeks of June 2015. We really, really didn't want to leave and already want to go back. If Salina is a gem of an island, Maria Terzita is a jewel of a villa. It's actually even better than the already very good photographs suggest: extremely comfortable and stylish, impeccably maintained and brilliantly kitted out -- with everything from fishing rods and a futuristic sound system we didn't dare touch, to a china cake stand with glass cloche we used most days to stop us eating all the cannoli at once. Nor do the photos really do justice to the mesmerising view of Lipari -- especially when its cliffs are lit orange by the setting sun -- or hint at the gentle breeze that wafts in across the huge terrace through those restful arches. The owner Beatrice and her representative on Earth, Maria, really make a huge effort to make guests feel welcome and at home... and we really did. A couple of minutes' walk one way, and you can be snorkelling with zebra fish and other multi-coloured wonders from the pebble beech; a couple of minutes' in the other direction and you're in the centre of the village buying your fish for supper. One minute's walk up the lane by the side of the house, and you're in Santa Marina's quaint 'main drag' -- a high street, but not as most people know them. So yes: definitely a find to be kept entirely secret so it isn't overrun with hordes of visitors. Oops! Tristan, Marie-Laure, Margot and Rob.

A beautiful pearl!

A beautiful apartment that is extremely well kept by the very nice owners and perfectly situated in Santa Marina on Salina. 30 meters for a quick dip in the beautiful ocean straight in front of the house or a 5 minutes walk to a beach with sun chairs for rent, bar, restaurant and a smaller playground in the shadow for the younger ones. 2 minutes walk to several grocery shops that will also take your bags to the house if you don't want to carry them in the sun or you're already fully equipped with your bags for the beach. 1 minute away from the main street with nice shops, bars and restaurants. The seaside promenade that will take you to the piazza in Santa Marina in 10 minutes is just in front of the house. The nearest boat rental is 5 minutes walk away if you want to visit the other vulcanic islands as well or just get your own lagoon to swim in for the day! Salina is also perfectly situated amongst the other island for day trips like this. The beautiful apartment situated so perectly in such a beautiful place was like paradise for us. We're coming back!

Very nice stay in Salina !

We had a very nice stay in Salina. We were 2 couples and the house was very convenient and well placed on the sea front. Bea was a delicious host and welcome very warmly. She gave us many advices on what to visit and which restaurant to go. I will recommend the house and the place, no doubt !

Dream Holiday

We were so impressed with this villa we cannot recommended enough, having rented other properties in other locations around the world and often be let down for one reason or the other, this house is so manicured and the owners are so caring and welcoming you wouldn't want to leave ever! We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Salina especially because of the choice we made to stay at Villa Maria Terzita.

Villa Terzita. Indubbiamente molto bella, confortevole, con il magnifico terrazzo abbracciato dal mare. Ore di autentico relax dopo essersi saturati dell'acqua delle Eolie. Il servizio oltre ogni aspettativa. Ci tornerò e non la segnalerò a nessuno perché ormai ne sono geloso. C'è un pezzo della mia magnifica estate 2014 li'.

An immaculate well appointed apartment.

My husband and I spent two glorious weeks on Salina in this amazing apartment. It was beautifully decorated in Aeolian tradition and very well equipped with modern conveniences.The hostess was very welcoming, and graciously met us at the marina to help us with our luggage and show us to the apartment. The welcoming gifts of oil, teas, biscuits etc were very much appreciated. The keep sake gift a Salina picture book was also a lovely surprise. The apartment is situated in an excellent location across the road from the beach and very close to the town centre. The front terrace, beautiful gardens and view all make this accommodation seem like a resort. We highly recommend this apartment to couples or small families and will certainly make this our first choice of accommodation next time we return to Salina. Catherine

Lovely Villa on Unique Island of Salina

We couldn't have asked for more from our stay on the island of Salina. The villa is perfectly located for access to the port and the and all the amenities of the village of Santa Maria Salina. A morning dip in the sea is on offer just feet away from the front door. The villa is also carefully appointed and super comfortable, with perfect view across to Lipari. Our hosts made every effort to make our stay as relaxing and simple as possible - from restaurant recommendations and transport to thoughtful touches of local treats. Thank you for a memorable vacation - we look forward to returning.

Fabulous Villa, Gorgeous view, Awesome owners!

I stayed at Villa Maria Terzita with my husband and my parents in-law for two weeks. We had an unforgettable vacation! The villa is absolutely beautiful and has all the commodities you might need; dishwasher, television, stereo, washer, dryer etc. The villa has a huge terrace over looking the ocean. We ate all our meals outside enjoying the cool healthy breeze coming from the ocean, and the stunning view. It was so peaceful and relaxing, I wish I was still there! The villa is also very conveniently located, just 5 minutes walk from the charming village of Santa-Maria and all its commodities. It was part of the charm to walk to the village everyday for an after-noon espresso, or to go buy some fresh farm organic produce at the small super-markets, or to go visit the butcher for some fresh homemade sausages. Everybody in Salina is extremely friendly, and we loved talking with them and try to learn some Italian. There are no words to describe how helpful, genuine and kind the owners of Villa Terzita are. They took us for a tour of the island, to eat at famous local restaurants, to visit the local winery, and they always made sure we had everything we needed at all times. We highly recommended Villa Terzita to anyone interested in vacationing in Salina. The Villa, the location, and the owners all contributed for a life time memorable vacation! It's a must go!

Wonderful vacation

It was a beatiful week we spend at Villa Maria Terzita, It"s just beatiful,the perfect place for those who seek a different vacation then the usual all inclusive crowded hotel. Salina is a quite and small island but it has everithing you need at a short walk distance,I loved going to buy fresh fish and sea food and cooking it in a very well equiped kitchen,going for a walk with my husband and son to get a granita. We went on a boat excursion to see the vulcano eruption at night and my son still talks about it. But the best thing about this vacation was that we had the good furtune to be there at the same time that the owners wore there; Beatrice and Enrico are just exquisite people,they made the vacation truly special.Thank you guys for everything!!!
