Best stay.

We had the most fantastic stay, the cottage was amazing. The area is fantastic. Linda is a brilliant host so generous in every way. We were sad to leave. Wished we lived nearer so we could go every year.

Absolutely wonderful stay. Linda and David were amazing hosts. The cottage was perfect. Very clean. Very comfortable. All of the amenities, including two beautiful black labs.

The ploughman’s poet cottage was the perfect spot for our time in Scotland. It was a cute cottage out in the country centrally located with everything we needed for our stay. The hosts were super kind and helpful for our first time in Scotland and made us the best cheesecake! We were so thankful for all of the helpful advice. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit!

Lovely location

Lovely cottage with everything and more, to make your holiday away from home as easy and comfortable as possible. Five star service from Linda the host. Nothing was too much trouble.

First trip to Scotland

Super property in a great location. Perfect for touring central belt. Property was well equipped with everything we could need and more. Host was fantastic, welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We will recommend to our friends and family and return ourselves.

Our stay was magnificent! The cottage was perfectly appointed, clean, and quiet. Extra thoughtfulness and generosity was provided with abundance. The kitchen was even set up with spices, condiments, milk, eggs, bread, butter, etc. This is clearly not an expectation for a host. But expect to be treated with superior care and attention from this host. Linda was a fantastic communicator from the very first time we connected six months ago when we initially booked it.

Scotland 2022

We stayed at this lovely cottage for 13 days and have made new friends! Linda was an absolute gem of a hostess. Issues with our phone plan and she worked it out so we could communicate with her at any time. The basics were stocked in the cottage and the place was perfect for the 2 of us. The neighbours (of the canine persuasion) were the friendliest and most welcoming each evening as we returned from our forays into your lovely country. It was our first trip to Scotland and we were able to explore easily with help and guidance from Linda regarding train and bus schedules, as well as wonderful advice on what not to miss seeing while in Scotland. We were treated to lovely and tasty desserts on several evenings and well as supper the last night as we were attempting to empty out the fridge of leftovers!! Linda went above and beyond and we hope to meet up again in the future! The cottage is a bit off of the beaten track but the ambiance and scenery make up for that in spades!!! Thanks you Linda!

Secluded spot

Heating system was fixed midway through stay during wintry conditions. Far too many scent plugs in rooms. Long road access has deep potholes. Property manager attentive & offered a refund if we wished to go somewhere else.

Being your second visit to the Ploughmans Poet I’m sure you were well aware of the property and entry road. This is part of being rural. The plugs are easily turned off, no problem. Unfortunately there was a heating issue that was rectified the same day. Maybe future visits to family in the area you’d be better suited to a hotel? Kind regards

Scottish honeymoon

Wonderful experience from booking to departing, excellent communication from Linda even sending detailed directions to cottage, On arrival leaving kitchen really well stocked, Cottage is in a lovely, quiet tranquil setting, which is just what we wanted, Linda and her family could not have been friendlier or more helpful during our stay ,I can recommend this cottage for anyone wanting a relaxing stay with close rail links to the rest of Scotland

Absolutely brilliant from check in, to the understanding shown to enable me to have a later checkout time. Lovely, picturesque, spotlessly clean and comfy. I don’t know what else that I could possibly say!

STUNNING!

I stayed at this cottage for a week (October 9 to16 2019) and it was nothing short of perfect. It's situated on a gorgeous property with great views. The cottage is so spotless clean, comfortable, warm, cozy and just lovely. Linda, the owner, is a wonderful host and is there close by, to assist with anything you might need. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend this rental, it's truly spectacular! Thanks to Linda Kerr, I had a wonderful stay in Scotland.
