Classic Cotswolds Home near Littleworth

Flower Barn is a light and spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self catering cottage near Faringdon which is arranged over one level. Offering luxurious and comfortable accommodation, it has been lovingly converted and retains much of the character and charm of the original stone barn. The barn is part of the Goodlake Barns, so multiple barns can be booked to accommodate a larger group if required. The market town of Faringdon is just 3 miles away and caters for most everyday shopping needs and there is a wide range of places to visit nearby.

LIVING
Open-plan kitchen/living area featuring original beams plus underfloor heating. Large glass doors open out in to the courtyard and allows light to flood in.
Kitchen is fully equipped with gas hob and oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cooking utensils and dining table for 6 guests.
Two comfortable sofas are arranged around the Smart TV (with DVD player) and wooden coffee table. WiFi can be found throughout the property.

BEDROOMS
Bedroom 1: Double bed with bedside tables, chest of drawers and mirror. The bedroom has a en-suite shower room, with enclosed shower, loo, sink and heated towel rail.
Bedroom 2: Twin with wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables and mirror.
Family bathroom with bath (no shower), wc, sink, large mirror and heated towel rail.

OUTSIDE
Huge enclosed communal courtyard with outdoor seating available for guests to use, plus a large garden to the back of The Barn.
There is plenty of parking on site but we do ask that you car share where ever possible.

Set between two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Goodlake Barns offers guests the best of the Cotswolds and the best of the North Wessex Downs as well as the Uffington White Horse practically on your doorstep!

The maximum occupancy for this property is 4 guests. Infants do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions the occupancy can only be exceeded by 2 additional infants (aged 2 or under)

we found the accommodation very well equipped, in a quiet location within easy drive of various Cotswold's locations we had the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage ideal as a base for day trips around the Cotswold's and Oxford Our cottage is one of 5 or 6 around a courtyard so could suit a large family group renting them all

Great stay as always

This was our third visit - the second this year. I think that speaks volumes by itself. If we want to be really picky, there were one or two minor shortcomings this time - some dirt underneath the settee, noticeable when we moved it, some cobwebs and dead flies on the windowsills, and a vacuum cleaner half full of dust in a wardrobe. Having spoken to the manager, I was sure that these would have been put right before the next guests arrived. This did nothing to spoil our enjoyment of Flower Barn, which was as comfortable and well laid out as usual, and only a short drive to Faringdon with Waitrose, Asda and Tesco to choose from. It is a gem of a place to stay: quiet and peaceful. Will we be back for our fourth visit? Undoubtedly!

A half term break in a tranquil location

We absolutely had the best time staying at Flower Barn. The communication from Stay Cotswolds before the break was excellent which made the destination easy to find and settling in to the cottage easy. The accommodation was second to none and perfect for a family of 3 or 4. Everything was spotless, there were washing up items included and a lovely cake and pint of milk and teabags were waiting for us. The cottage is situated in a small village and was just what we needed to get away from it all. There is a lovely 11th C church which is visible from the cottage and nice to visit. It is easy to drive to Faringdon and Cirencester from Shellingford for days out. We felt so well looked after staying with Stay Cotswolds. On the final day there was a minor issue with one of the toilets, we contacted the manager from Stay Cotswolds who was extremely helpful and apologetic. We would definitely stay at this cottage again and most definitely use Stay Cotswolds again.

Flower barn

It was a pleasure staying here the barn was immaculate. Spotlessly clean. Beds very comfortable. Decorated very tastefully. The location was an easy to get to other places in the vicinity. You do need a car. No pubs or places to eat nearby without using the car. I would certainly stay here again.

Perfect for our short stay.

This was a wonderful place to take a short break with friends. Plenty of space to relax and well equipped to share meals together. (One small thing some of the pans did not work on the induction hob).

Excellent accommodation, good base for the Cotswolds, Oxford and Cirencester

The property was spacious, clean, comfortable, tastefully furnished and well equipped, with plenty of storage. It was a nice touch to provide a barbecue, but unfortunately the weather prevented us from using it. Shops at nearby Faringdon were very good: Waitrose, Tesco and Aldi were all there. The property is well placed for trips out into the Cotswolds and is not too far from Oxford and Cirencester. We would definitely stay there again.

Delightful 2 bed, 2 bathroom cottage.

Lovely cottage in the corner of a courtyard development of 6 properties. Quiet village but easily accessible to services in Faringdon by car. Convenient for visiting the Vale of the White Horse and the Southern Cotswolds. Easy access to property via a keysafe. We had a few issues with failed bulbs and missing bits of kitchen equipment, but these were easily resolved via the owner and housekeeper who were both very helpful. Double bedroom with ensuite shower room. Larger twin room at the other end of the property with space for a cot. Separate bathroom with a bath adjacent to 2nd bedroom. Spacious lounge/kitchen/diner. Outside seating area with a bbq. The property was well equipped, clean and fitted out to a high standard. The outdoor areas are well maintained and attractively planted. All as in the photos. Would be a bit more pleasant if parking were in the car park just down the track rather than in the courtyard. We would recommend and hope to stay again soon with family.

Perfect for our holiday

We wanted somewhere with all of the home comforts in a peaceful location and Flower Barn was ideal. Important to us were kitchen facilities, a dining and lounge area plus a walk-in shower; this place provided all of that and more. Almost everything we wanted was included or available (the only exception was a dryer, although there is a washing machine). The property was well maintained and a delight to stay at - we will certainly return if ever holidaying in the area again. Highly recommended.

A little disappointed

This was our 2nd time staying at Good Lake Barns, but this time we was in the flower barn. The moment we walked in we was hit with a hideous smell, like horse poo. I opened all windows and doors to try and get rid, I had thankfully brought some air freshener but nothing helped. The first night the smell coming from the head board was so overpowering I kept waking up from it. I always inspect certain areas when staying somewhere new so I checked the en suite toilet which I found poo splattered under the lid and on the inside of the loo. Went to use the kettle and could hear limescale moving around so I emptied it and lumps fell out. The sofas I didn’t even want to sit on, they smelt and had weird marks/stains all over. I really hate doing reviews like this, but I felt as if I had to be honest. All of the other cottages were completely fine, but every time someone else would walk in ours they would instantly mention the smell. Moving on to more positive feedback, I found the chocolate cake and milk in the fridge a wonderful touch and a lovely little treat. Well equipped with brand new sponges, clean tea towels etc. the location is beautiful and not to far from some pubs and supermarkets. Overall I had a lovely stay but the cleanliness of our cottage was a massive let down, house keeping could do 1000% better as I felt like the general up keep wasn’t up to normal standards

Great Family Get Together

Flower Barn was perfect for our family get together whilst attending a wedding nearby. We hired Prince Barn too and both accommodations were perfect. Very clean, fresh crisp linen and towels and plenty of space in large airy rooms. We sat outside at the table and chairs provided and although we didn’t use the bbq, commented that it was a top quality one. Would definitely consider staying in these barns again.

Comfortable and quiet

A comfortable property for 4 adults, well presented and in a quiet location. However, it could be improved by fitting an over-bath shower in the bathroom and by increasing the holding of the number of cups and glasses as with 6 of each it requires either increased washing up or dishwasher cycles.

Great accommodation

We had a lovely stay in the delightful Flower Barn. A welcome pack was provided which was much appreciated. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and in a peaceful location. I would highly recommend Goodlake Barns.

A nice holiday let

We enjoyed our stay. All very clean, pleasant surroundings, quiet. Our suggestion to dishwash a selection of crockery and cutlery in advance of our arrival was taken up, for which we were grateful, as one of us is in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable category for Covid. Just a few niggles - - The fridge needs adjusting - our lettuce froze in the salad drawer! Some utensils, e.g. vegetable peelers, were almost useless. Some instruction leaflets were present, but they were not for the equipment fitted! In these Covid times, we feel that landlords should expect that hirers will really wish to self-cater, i.e. cook meals from scratch.

short break

Excellent 5 day break catching up with friends, great indoor and outdoor spaces to enable us to do this without being on top of one and other , we enjoyed doing a bbq one night with the trout we got from Bibury trout farm again another great afternoon out, every thing we needed was there, home from home ,the beds are so comfortable like sleeping on a cloud ,we all slept well. quality beds and bed linen and lovely white fluffy towels. good to know there is onsite help if required with helpful hints and tips in and around the area, fantastic location nice and quiet but with plenty to do and see on the doorstep, fully recommend the Folly hill nearby, lots of information on local things to do inside the barn and in the reception area .The barns far out weighed our expectations and much bigger than the beautiful photos on the websites .we all would recommend Goodlake barns to all family and friends and to you reading this review .we could not fault our stay, quality for the money.

A Long Weekend at Goodlake Barns

We rented the whole property to entertain family and friends for our daughter's wedding. A perfect venue for this sort of gathering, with cooking facilities to make catering for 28 as easy as it could be, and a communal room big enough to seat us all for meals in comfort. A very well-run group of properties
