Acapulco getaway
We spent a wonderful week in Acapulco with our family. The apartment was very spacious and it definitely accommodated our entire family of 12. This apartment could of easily been at 5+ start rental, however there were many things that were not functioning that were advertised in the listing as working. For the majority of the people it would of been a deal breaker it might of been for us too.
The whole AC in the common areas did not work as well as one of the master bedrooms. We were never informed about it prior to check in or even when inquiring about the place. It was a switch and bait. We would of looked for a other options with full AC. Especially in the tropical area that Acapulco is located in.
Another thing that was not functioning was the elevators, this could of been a disaster because we traveled with our parents that are between 65-70 (luckily they are in great shape) we asked maintenance how long the elevators hasn’t been in service and we were told they had stopped for 3 days however we had been there for 6 days and they never worked from the beginning of our stay. Again this wouldn’t be an issue but to access the pool from the apartment there were about 4 flights of stairs. And to access the beach was another 5 flights. Again we dealt with it and did what we had to in order to make it work.
Another thing that we were not informed of was that there were cameras “inside” the home, that’s right cameras! It was very uncomfortable. They had “working” cameras in the common areas which was all upstairs in the living rooms. And in the hallways leading to the bedrooms. Again it was a detail that was left out of the description of the home.
These were major details that should of been told up front so that as renters we could decide if it fit our needs.
Aside from the inaccuracies of those three things, the home was great. Norma was the housekeeper and she was fantastic as well as our cook Blanca. Both ladies made our stay as comfortable as they could.
The views from the common areas was amazing you could see the whole diamanté coast! The beds were comfortable each room had their own bathroom. It was clean and they gave us a vanity starter pack which was appreciated.
I would not write this place off, it needs some work and I would stay here again if those things were fixed and I would ask those questions prior to booking again.
