Friendly & Comfortable Mountain Get-Away

Detrás de la entrada y el garaje planos de la calle (ideal para el invierno), se ingresa a la casa luminosa desde la cubierta delantera occidental (hay otra cubierta en la parte trasera de la casa que recibe una luz excelente). La estufa de pellets ecológica y el calor central de gas te calientan en los meses fríos, mientras que la casa se mantiene fresca naturalmente durante todo el verano.

El loft cubre más de la mitad del plano de planta, lo que permite un buen flujo de aire y una sensación de amplitud. En la planta baja, la sala de estar, el comedor y la cocina están abiertos el uno para el otro. Las 2 habitaciones de nivel de entrada dan al sur y tienen capacidad para hasta 6 personas. Hay un dormitorio principal (oeste) con una cama queen y un dormitorio familiar (este) con una cama doble y una litera doble. Puede ampliarse arriba en el Loft, que también puede acomodar hasta 7 con una litera doble, futón doble, futón reina (en el piso) y colchón extra gemelo (en el piso).

Te sentirás conectado con tus amigos y familiares en la cálida y social atmósfera del diseño de la casa. Ya sea que esté cocinando, descansando en el sofá, viendo una película (muchos videos antiguos de VHS están disponibles en la casa, o traiga sus propios DVD), leyendo (muchos libros están disponibles para leer detenidamente durante su estadía), comiendo o estirando después un largo día en la montaña, tendrás el espacio para hacerlo. Si lo que buscas es tranquilidad silenciosa, simplemente escóndete.

La casa es fácil de alcanzar incluso en mal tiempo: está en Northwoods BLVD, la carretera principal de Tahoe Donner, que se puede arar bien, y como está al final del camino, hay poco tráfico. Además, el camino de entrada se usa para los días de mucha nevada, por lo que puede entrar y salir (aunque es posible que tenga que palear una berma o una pasarela durante o después de una tormenta).

Bien surtido pero no excesivo, encontrará lo que necesita para sentirse cómodo, relajarse y disfrutar de sus vacaciones sin importar la temporada. Estamos deseando trabajar con usted.

Peaceful mountain home

Great stay. Cozy home with the cutest loft. It was the kiddo's favorite spot in the house! Neighborhood was quiet, house was very easy to get to and a to-go dinner from The Lodge was an awesome, yummy way to celebrate our wonderful family ski trip weekend!

Home away from home, friendly host

For a rental, this is the best lit home we stayed in. And it has everything that we need for a comfortable stay. When we had a problem, Ama the host was very responsive, and she also checked on us. Having a garage was a must for us, especially with the snow storm. I was concerned a little about getting the sheets and towels laundered before we leave for 7 people, but it was totally doable, because the washer and dryers were so large. We did have to shovel a little to get to the front entrance due to snow, but they had ice for us to keep it not being slick throughout our stay in January.

Birthday trip

The house was very clean , and the kitchen was excellent. Had everything a family needs . Ama was very informative and had answered my phone calls and text . My questions were immediately answered. We loved the cabin and the privacy in the woods . Ty for being a great host . We would definitely come back , hopefully in the near future .

We enjoyed our stay at Ama's homey and cozy cabin. It was a little dark inside and the cabin was dated, but that added to the comfy feel. We had a blast watching Top Gun on the VHS. The cabin was well located near Tahoe Donner and Northstar. Ama was very communicative and thoughtful.

Great home

Overall the house was great. Having to do the laundry before leaving was a little much. Usually most places have you leave it for the clean up crew. The kitchen needed a few more oven items. But other than that the bathrooms were great, the amount of beds was great. The living room/dining area was great for everyone to hangout in.

Great location

My family appreciated having a place to stay for a couple of nights in beautiful Tahoe Donner. The kitchen was so well-stocked, it was fortunate we didn't bring much! It felt more like visiting a relative than renting a home, which was perfect for what we were looking for. We didn't have the time to run multiple loads of bedding laundry as requested, but we were able to get one load going before we left. There were plenty of cleaning supplies, and we were able to vacuum up some crumbs we spilled on the carpet in the kitchen area. The owner was very responsive and thoughtful. Overall, a good experience.

Summer bike trip.

Had a great time staying in this house for our annual Truckee bike trip. The house was well supplied and the available garage was nice and large, capable of holding all our bikes.

Great getaway

This is our second visit to this lovely and comfortable house in a great location for accessing the Sierras in any season. Ama is easy to communicate with, and is a thoughtful and responsive host.

Comfortable and Relaxing Cabin

My family and I enjoyed our 2-week stay here immensely. We loved the large garage that had plenty of space for our bikes, paddle boards, etc. We loved the front and back decks that allowed for shady outdoor seating any time of day. We loved the quiet neighborhood that had easy access to short biking/hiking trails around the surrounding green belts. We loved that the house had plenty of extra towels and things like pizza cutters, ice cream scoopers, tupperware, dishes for kids. We loved the large-capacity washing machine, soft sheets and variety of pillows. We loved the open living/dining/kitchen area and extra upstairs hang out areas. We loved that it had two full bathrooms and fast Wi-fi. It was so perfect that the only thing I missed from home was our King-sized bed. Ama has done a fantastic job setting up the place and is great at communicating as well. We are ready for another visit already!

We had a great stay! The home and the kitchen were great and the location and amenities of Tahoe Donner were perfect. Great Tahoe cabin!

Really enjoyed staying here. Lots of beds in a well designed fashion for everyone to be comfortable. Super well stocked kitchen. Strong enough Wifi for several people to WFH. Great location, close drive to lots of fun nature (although you definitely need a car).

Fabulous get-away!

The house was clean and incredibly comfortable, all the amenities we needed, and more! Quiet and serene neighborhood just minutes away from the ski resort, biking, hiking, golf, swimming, etc.. it was the perfect getaway for us. Ama was a great landlord: checked in via text to make sure we had everything we needed, and was very responsive When we booked the house. We will Definitely rent again!

Comfortable Stay

We reserved this home for members of our family to participate in a weekend sailing trip. Unfortunately, with increasing COVID cases, just 2 of us ended up staying here. The home is comfortable and fully outfitted. Ama was amazing with communication. We would definitely recommend as a place to stay while visiting Tahoe. Would be great for a family with children.

Great place

Clean with a nice layout. Ama was very communicative and check in, etc went off without a hitch. We had 4 of us staying there but it’s clear it can accommodate at least two or more additional people. Great location for getting out to the Tahoe / Truckee area. 25 minutes from Tahoe. 5 minutes from downtown Truckee.

What a great place! It was perfect for our needs and very spacious and close to town and skiing.!

The host was super organized and directions very clear on caring for the house. Everything was labeled inside as to make it easy to understand how everything worked! Loved the welcome packet as it was filled with everything you could possible need to know about the surrounding area. Thank you for a wonderful stay for my family!

Ama lives in Oakland, CA with her husband and daughters, and grew up downhill skiing on the east coast and in Europe. She took up cross-country to be easier on the knees. She loves to snow shoe and hike. Carol lives in New York and is an avid skier who has not missed a season for over 60 years. They bought this lovely vacation home to have a 'home base' in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, after Carol bought a condo in Park City, Utah before the Olympics. They love traveling to new areas around the country and world, but coming back to the same place year after year has it's advantages. Por qué escogió este alojamiento

I (Ama) found myself visiting Tahoe Donner year after year, renting different houses with groups of friends. When the idea struck our family to invest in a property, the answer to 'where?' was obvious. So I looked for a house that would accommodate a group of friends or a family (or two), that had 2 bathrooms, was easy to access even in bad weather, and felt comfortable to hang out in. I think we found just the right place!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I love taking advantage of the proximity to all of the ski areas. Decide everyday where the best snow and weather are, and go there. Remember to pack bathing suits in the car, so you can head to the jacuzzi on your way back home from the mountains or town... or maybe eat at one of the awesome restaurants at the ski areas or around Truckee, Tahoe City or Kings Beach.

As much as Winter in Tahoe is fabulous, Spring, Summer and Fall visits allow for hiking, biking, rock climbing, swimming, tennis, golf - there are several world class golf courses nearby, visiting the hot springs in Sierraville, exploring local history, boating and playing at the lakes (Donner and Tahoe). Also, check out nearby reservoirs.

There is always State Line or South Lake for a bit more excitement, and so much more it would take too long to add it all in here.

For my young family, we spend a lot of time hanging out and enjoying the house, the views out the window, and the Tahoe Donner amenities. We hope you will too!
