Our stay at the Coach House was truly exceptional. Colin, the host, welcomed us personally and showed us how everything works. The cottage is lovely, with a roomy living room with several comfortable sofas and a desk for those of us who couldn't leave work behind, 3 well-appointed bedrooms, a large eat-in kitchen, and a beautiful, secluded yard with lots of plant and bird life and a wood stove for cooking. The house is right in town, just off the main street. You can get to any of the amenities in a walk of less than 5 minutes. A marvelous place to enjoy all the delights of Aberfeldy.

Home from home

We enjoyed a great family holiday in this comfortable family home beautifully located in the middle of Aberfeldy. Although central, it was very quiet.

The coach house is in a really convenient location in a beautiful little town, which is central to many attractions in Scotland. Colin went the extra mile when we met him, in showing us the house and all the amenities. It proved to be an ideal fit for five of us travelling together. There were many extras available, which are not usually found in vacation rental properties, such as good China and many crystal glasses. It really felt like we were in home and not a rental property. I recommend the coach house and Colin as a vacation rental. Jim Grier Vancouver Island.

The Coach House felt very homey and comfortable. Like returning to your favorite holiday house. It was roomy and had a very well stocked kitchen. The towels were plentiful & water hot. The garden was a delight with lots of blooms & birds. Colin was a very proactive communicator & highly responsive. A great host. Aberfeldy is charming with plenty of walks, both easy & challenging. There are lots of restaurants & coffee shops, a Coop grocery, hardware store, lovely cinema and butcher shop. We cooked alot because the kitchen had everything & the butcher shop was great. Try to get to Iain Burnetts Chocolatier in Grantully (5 mi by car or walking trail along the river). A really great stay!

Fabulous Stay in Aberfeldy!

We enjoyed our stay in Aberfeldy immensely. The property was beautiful, clean, modern, and in the heart of the village. We could walk to everything, including the Co-Op for a few groceries. Excellent, friendly host met us upon arrival and gave us the grand tour. This was by far the best of the VRBOs we stayed in. Would definitely return.

Amazing stay! Highly recommend

I stayed at the Coach House for almost 2 months. During this time, my mother and sister visited, three girlfriends visited, and my husband stayed with me most of the visit. It worked perfectly for all of us. The Garden is truly delightful and the cottage is charming, comfortable, with modern amenities. Colin was a delight and went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. Aberfeldy is a lovely Highland town, great base for exploring. The best VRBO property I’ve encountered.

Gorgeously restful

Colin was so helpful, from an early check in after a long overseas journey to helping us find a garage mid week for our car . He was very prompt in replying and we all had the feeling that it was really important to Colin that we all felt at home, had everything we needed and would have a restful, fun time. The location in the village centre is very quiet , we enjoyed the ozpig and the bottle of wine in the fridge. Thank you Colin, we hope to return and wish you the very best. Only request - a lock on the downstairs bathroom door 😆

The entire house, especially the kitchen, could benefit from a thorough cleaning and removal of the owner’s personal items when rented. One of the reasons we had rented this property was that the listing stated that there was a washer and a dryer. At check-in we were informed that the dryer did not work. If you are not going to fix the dryer, best to not name it as an amenity. The living room is very cozy and comfortable and we enjoyed wine and cheese in the yard watching the birds.

Oh my goodness, we absolutely loved our stay in the Carriage House in Aberfeldy. Sometimes photos just can't accurately reflect the loveliness of a property, and this is one of those times. We LOVED everything about our stay in Aberfeldy, which turned out to be the perfect home base for exploring the stunning Scottish Highlands. From attending the Northern Meeting bagpipe competition in Inverness to Glencoe to Inveraray to the fabulous 3-star Michelin restaurant at Glenturret distillery, EVERYTHING was perfect. The Carriage House was a fabulous home for us, with a well-stocked and large kitchen (with a very cool potato "masher"), super comfortable beds, luxurious showers, and a garden that served as our morning coffee spot and welcomed us home every evening. And being right in town was the best! Colin was a gracious host - meeting us upon our arrival with tips and lots of great instructions as to how we might best enjoy our stay. This was one of our favorite vacations ever! We will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coach House. Aberfeldy was a charming village with quaint restaurants, the beautiful Birks walk and convenient to so many Perthshire villages. The cottage was bright, well equipped and oh so comfortable. We appreciated meeting Colin when we arrived to get the overview and would most definitely return!

Coach House Review

This house has a great location within the heart of the town making it very accessible for all the local amenities. As it is tucked away from the main road it was very quiet and relaxing. It’s a great family house to stay in with everything provided. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful house close the centre of Aberfeldy

The Coach House is a very spacious and well equipped holiday house which makes a great base for exploring the local area. We particulrly like the relatively large kitchen/diner which allowed our family to socialise and to eat together. The small private garden and covered area was great for the children to play in.

Wonderfully helpful host and fabulous cottage. The location is central but very private. The cottage has a lovely warm, welcoming feel and the amenities are truly excellent. A lot of thought and consideration has obviously been given. I really couldn’t recommend more.

Acerca de su propietario/a

Propietario/a: Colin Clark

Imagen de perfil del propietario o de la propietaria
I am a retired veterinary surgeon and spent much of my youth in and around Aberfeldy. When my parents were ailing, I bought the cottage, the better to be able to keep an eye on them as they neared the end of their lives. After they died, I kept the cottage and have used it as a holiday home for my family and friends and have occasionally let it out.
Now I want other visitors to enjoy the area and since I have retired, I am better able to run it as a HOMEAWAY project.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The cottage is stone built with thick walls which help to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It dates back to the late nineteenth century.
The property is in a quiet location in the centre of the town with easy access to all shops and local amenities. Having a gaited garden, it is very safe for young children and suitable for family holidays. There is a local recreation centre with swimming pool and gymnasium as well as a local cinema. There is also a park with a play area for small children.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Peace and quiet whilst being in the centre of town. As soon as you step out to the Main Street there are views of the near and distant hills. The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful and a short walk will take you to the banks of the mighty river Tay and the famous General Wade’s bridge, built in the early 18th century.
