Escápese a esta encantadora casa de campo recién reformada, orientada al sur, que forma parte de una antigua granja de Devon en la cima de la colina con vistas de gran alcance sobre el ondulado campo de Devon. Está lejos de las carreteras transitadas y del estrés de la vida cotidiana, pero la costa atlántica está a solo 15 minutos.

La cabaña es encantadora y cálida y tiene un jardín aislado con orientación sur y uso gratuito de una cancha de tenis privada a solo 30 pasos de distancia. ¡Puedes recorrer los campos en los que se encuentra la cabaña, aunque podrías encontrarte con ovejas ocasionales!

La ciudad comercial de Torrington está a solo 3 millas de distancia y tiene todas las comodidades que necesitará, incluyendo carnicerías familiares, panaderías, tiendas de abarrotes, tiendas de regalos, teterías, centro de arte / música (The Plough) e incluso su propio pequeño mercado.
R. H.S. Rosemoor Garden está a 6,4 km de distancia y tiene 65 acres magníficos de jardines para explorar.

La cabaña es encantadora y cálida y tiene radiadores ajustables en cada una de las habitaciones.

La cabaña es privada y tranquila y tiene un ambiente totalmente "alejado de todo". Cerca (pero bastante separada) se encuentra la cabaña tradicional de pastores, que también se puede alquilar (número de apoyo 1163020 / E14229). La granja principal se encuentra al final del camino.

On our arrival there was tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the fridge for us. We had a very relaxing break at the cottage. It is in a very rural quiet spot, we had sheep in the field around the cottage but there is an enclosed garden for the dog to exercise and some seating to admire the view if the weather is kind. If the weather is not good, it wasn't for us, there are plenty of books to cater for most interests and plenty of board games for the children. We wouldn't recommend the cottage if you have a physical disability as unloading the luggage from the car to the cottage door is tricky due to steps down to the garden and long path.

Beautiful cottage in peaceful location

We have just spent a lovely stay at the shepherds Cottage which is set in a peaceful location but only a short drive to Torrington and local beaches are only a 20 minute drive away. It is a beautiful cottage, very cosy and well equipped with lovely views of the countryside from all the windows.The garden was secure for our dog. Jenny and Alistair were great hosts who left us to it but were friendly and helpful when we saw them. The bed was really comfortable, the shower hot and powerful and also nice to have 2 bathrooms. Also great to have the opportunity to have a game of tennis too. The only downside was that we weren’t there for longer!

A perfect relaxing break

Jenny and Alistair were perfect hosts and made us and our dog feel very welcome. We weren’t subject to loads of dos and don’t from the moment we arrived to when we left. The cottage was spotless on arrival and we appreciated the welcoming note and refreshments. The property itself was isolated enough to be peaceful but close to the coast, shops and various activities. It is bounded on two sides by fields, which were full of sheep and lambs at the time we stayed. The tennis court was a lovely addition and we really enjoyed using it. Overall we had a busy but very relaxing stay and would highly recommend the property.

Perfect peaceful weekend

The cottage was lovely and bright & had everything you need - but no microwave which didn't bother us as we didn't need one.Jenny & Alistair were lovely and left us to get on with enjoying their cottage whilst were on hand should we need them.The enclosed garden was a bonus with the puppy and she enjoyed watching the sheep & lambs playing.Would definitely recommend this cottage & would love to stay there again.

Gorgeous location, lovely people.

This gem of a find was such a welcome home from home. Jenny and Alastair had thought of everything and this meant that the kids were well entertained even on the rainiest day. We loved exploring the stream, playing tennis and meeting our lovely hosts.The local area is brilliant and we followed some of the recommendations for the local bakery and take aways. Our dog was made very welcome everywhere, we would love to return some time.

Fantastic Cottage

We stayed 4 nights during Easter holidays. Had perfect weather, played tennis every day and explored north Devon. Cottage is in quiet location, with great views. We enjoyed watching and listening to the little lambs. Relaxing holiday all round. We are thinking about returning too. :-)

Short break at Shepherd's Cottage

We spent a lovely few days at the cottage. It is set in a beautiful location and was perfect for an 'away from it all' break.It was warm and homely and had everything you need for a very comfortable stay.We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and wouldn't hesitate to return.

Beautiful Cottage with everything you need for a relaxing stay

My wife and I stayed in the cottage for 5 nights with our dog and everything was perfect. The cottage was spacious, clean and the kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need. There were also loads of books and games and kids toys which was a nice touch. The garden area is lovely and very peaceful and the surrounding fields which you can venture into are beautiful. The location is also perfect for beach visits and walks with a huge selection of Devon and Somerset areas of beauty in short driving distance.

Sehr liebevoll gestaltetes Cottage, ruhig gelegen. Herzliche Vermieter.Toller Blick in die Landschaft. Küche gut ausgestattet. Erholung pur. 20 Minuten zum nächsten Stand. 30-40 Minuten zu den super Stränden. Zum Rosemoor Garden/ Einkaufen 10 Minuten.wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

Peaceful, scenic and cosy

The property was in a quiet, peaceful and idyllic location for a relaxing and cosy stay. It was well equipped and well located for visiting the surrounding area. The hosts were very kind and accommodating. I would definitely consider staying there again.

Shepherds Cottage in April

Had 6 nights at the Shepherds cottage, with 3 generations of the family. Despite the weather being mostly unkind we had a very relaxing time. Cosy and comfortable accommodation and great tips from the owners who were very helpful and friendly. Good location for exploring all north Devon has to offer. Had walks around the farm and enjoyed playing tennis with my 8 year old. Would definitely recommend for those looking to get away from it all.

Wonderful Hideaway

We had a wonderful stay in Shepherd’s Cottage. The property was well equipped with everything we needed for our 5 night stay. The beds were comfortable and overall the property had a cosy feel. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. Not a noise to be heard but the birds and sheep. Car essential to travel about to visit the sights. We would definitely stay here again if we came back to North Devon.

Nice quite location, Cottage not up to standard, Kitchen units over stocked with glasses plates etc. Oven poor, One fixed shelf at the bottom, fridge we had to clean and kitchen area in general including the bin very dirty. Bathroom and bedroom ok, furniture not comfy in lounge, tennis court unusable due to being full of weeds. We expected better all round.

Tranquil and lovely

A truly delightful place to stay and wonderful hosts. Quiet, idyllic and not too far from some lovely attractions. You will share the house with many spiders. It's the countryside, this is to be expected. Just a word of caution for genuine arachnophobes. The sheep in the fields are good fun and seem like decent neighbaaaahs to have. Garden is definitely dog proof assuming your dog is relatively well behaved and doesn't feel the need to jump the waist high fence. Our puppy is guilty of being quite the magician, disappearing from our garden & over much higher fences. But at this property she seemed less inclined, we think she was intimidated by the sheep. We thoroughly recommend staying at this house, it's brilliant. We had an amazing time and wish we could have stuck around longer.

We wanted to bring up our two children in the countryside. We love the sea and walking on the moors and were attracted to North Devon because of its away from it all feel. We like to support our local towns, Instow and Torrington which have all the shops we need and are very friendly. We all play music, Alastair -violin and flute, Jenny -cello and double bass , Cathy - piano and banjo and Jim - guitar and drums and have got to know lots of musicians locally.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The farm had been in the same family for many generations and when we discovered it nothing much had changed. We even found the old cooking pot which used to stand above the open fire! We fell in love straight away and the farm's renovation has given us a life long project ever since!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We love living on top of a hill , there's lots of light and big views. We are away from the coastal tourists yet close enough to decide to go for a quick swim in the evenings after work! Whenever we feel in need of culture our local lively art centre , The Plough, gives us live music/cinema/theatre etc so we have the best of both worlds. Also there are lots of cosy pubs serving real ale where we can go after our out door adventures!
