Great house and great hosts!

My family and I stayed here and enjoyed our stay. It is very close to a gorgeous beach and close to other great spots. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this beautiful home!

Great Spot!

This was a great property. It had plenty of room and was very comfortable. The location cant be beat with beaches and other amenities nearby. Tom was a great host and we really appreciated his recommendations for restaurants and activities. We hope to come back and stay again in the future!

Excellent place to stay

Island Breeze is in a great location on Okinawa: we felt centered around the activities we had planned to do. The private beach is nearby and has amazing sea life in the tide pools at low tide. The house provides towels, a parking spot, and island information such as nearby restaurants, beaches, and tours. The host is excellent at communicating and will answer any questions you have about the property or the island. We had a wonderful time on the island and enjoyed the break from hotels that Island Breeze gave us.

Perfect!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! Our stay was comfortable, plenty of room, location is great! Tom (the owner) is extremely hospitable, our flight was very late and Tom had food and drinks waiting for us. We are so grateful. I highly recommend this place if you want a clean, peaceful, comfortable place to stay.

The real Okinawa

This property is in a regular Okinawa neighborhood, and the hosts are long-time residents, speaking both English and Japanese. We loved staying here with many options available for things to do and places to eat as well as experiencing regular Okinawa life. The space was comfortable and well-furnished. Hosts are welcoming, helpful and friendly.

January Vacation

This clean, well appointed rental is a spacious 3 bedroom bottom floor of a large, modern American style home. Our stay was quiet, comfortable and idyllic, with a beautiful beach within five minutes walk, as well as quick access to the coastal road. The neighborhood is semi-rural, so the vibe is quiet and low key. There was plenty of space for two kids and three adults to spread out and relax. The manager and his wife are upstairs, but unobtrusive and considerate. I rate this rental as an excellent value.

Peaceful quietness that I haven't felt in a long time

This trip to Okinawa has been a long time for me and my family. I stayed around Naha on the first day and planned to enjoy a leisurely beachfront feel and relaxing there the next day. And one day at Island Breeze provided me with an incredibly satisfying rest. The accommodation was very well organized and provided enough space for 4 people to stay. Quite beach was walking distance and was easily accessible by car for all the necessary supplies. Most importantly, it was nice to have a pleasant chat with Tom, the host of Island Breeze, with a glass of beer. The experiences and stories he shared in life were very pleasant for me. And we were able to tour some wonderful rare spaces together. I think my family and I will probably visit again next time. If you are looking for a place to stay with your family in Okinawa, make sure to consider Island Breeze

Our Island Breeze experience

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing, peaceful place to stay in the central Okinawa area in between our stays in the Naha area. Island Breeze was the perfect place for my wife and our two adult children. The home is clean, spacious, nicely designed with regards to bathrooms and bedrooms. The Island Breeze home (the first floor of a two story circular house with the owners's living above) was perfect in every regards. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is your place to stay in Okinawa. Our only negative was the parking situation. We had a large Noah style rental van and we had to use every means available to maneuver our car, especially when backing out. We managed to avoid scratches but only with the with the most intense driving experience I have ever gone through. Otherwise, the Island Breeze experience was perfect for my family. Beautiful small beaches a few minutes' walk away. Not much in the way of restaurants, convenience stores, etc. nearby but that is why you stay here. Peace and quiet. I would stay here again but with a smaller rental car. Tom is a gracious host, and we loved our stay in his home. No typhoons during our stay in October 2023 so that was a huge factor. Great experience for my family. I highly recommend staying at Island Breeze for all of the reasons described above plus so many more that I will leave to your imagination. Have a wondaful trip as we did in October 2023. The Hyder family.

Home away from home

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful "American" home for ten days during our stay in Okinawa. Our party included 3 adults and 2 children. The property was very spacious, clean and beautifully maintained. The home was warm and inviting--fresh flowers to greet us and a mid-week delivery of fresh flowers from the garden. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was a washing machine available for doing laundry. The 3 bedrooms were large and comfortable. The 2 bathrooms were equipped with "American" fixtures and uncomplicated. Items such as garbage/recycling, AC, lights, TV were well explained on laminated cards. We were able to access American TV shows via Netflix (other streaming services available if you have your own account). The home was decorated in a casual style and was certainly family friendly. The hosts, Tom & Christine, were very hospitable and welcoming. They would check in on us from time to time and were more than happy to assist with any house-related concerns/requests or dining recommendations. A relatively private park and beach was a 2-minute walk from the house. A bakery that makes cookies daily, was a minute's walk from the house. The house is located about an hour from the Naha airport. American Village/Chatan is about a 40-45 minute drive. A nice grocery store is about a 15 minute drive away. Family Marts/Lawson convenience stores are minutes away. Numerous eating establishments within 10-15 minute drive of the house. We were able to enjoy a canoe ride on Tom's handmade Hawaiian-style outrigger canoe. Christine offered us use of her inner tube and water shoes (as we forget some for our son). Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay here again should we return to Okinawa. Tom & Christine are very friendly and gracious hosts.

We are both second generation TCKs (Third Culture Kids), though no longer kids. Between the two of us we've lived in Japan, New Zealand, Pakistan, Hong Kong, India and the USA. So how do we answer the question, "Where are you from?" We generally smile back at the person asking this question and say, "Well,....."

We're fluent in English and Japanese and Christine picks up on some Urdu and Hindi if it's spoken around her.

We live on the second floor of Island Breeze and love sharing our round house with others. We look forward to chance to help you explore Okinawa.

Our house is located in a quiet Okinawan village of just a couple dozen houses surrounded by lush green hills on one side and the ocean on the other. The quiet surroundings make it easy to hear a variety birds singing.

But if you're looking to unwind, relax, have fun with your family and have a spacious place to base yourself while exploring the island, Island Breeze is definitely for you.


3 minute walk to a small beach park.
5 minute drive to Maeda point and the Blue Cave snorkel and dive spot.
5 minute drive to supermarkets, convenience stores and places to eat.
Many water sport tour companies are close by (diving, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), parasailing and more).

Island tours with a car and driver can be arranged if booked in advance.
