Ilaria House, un hermoso apartamento en el corazón de Trastevere

El apartamento está situado en el corazón de Roma, en el distrito de Trastevere, a pocos metros del mercado de Piazza San Cosimato y de la famosa Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, en la base de la colina Gianicolo. Desde este lugar puede disfrutar caminando a lo largo de las pequeñas calles de adoquines para llegar al Panteón, la Piazza Navona y el Campo Dei Fiori, el Coliseo y la Piazza Venezia muy rápido (dentro de diez a veinte minutos); El piso es tranquilo y refinado y se encuentra en el primer piso de un hermoso edificio antiguo de principios del 900.

Se compone de entrada, una cocina totalmente equipada (lavavajillas, lavadora, frigorífico, horno térmico, ollas, sartenes, 2 cafeteras italianas, etc.), una bonita sala de estar con un sofá cama doble, un televisor, un reproductor de CD, radio, 1 baño con ducha, bidet y ventana, una habitación doble con un colchón ortopédico nuevo y una ventana. Hay algunos muebles antiguos. Incluso si el piso está cerca de una zona comercial que le ofrece supermercados, tiendas, mercado diario de frutas y verduras, restaurantes típicos romanos, la zona es muy tranquila y segura por la noche. El piso es luminoso, recién reformado y completamente amueblado. Ofrecemos café, té, sal, azúcar, pimienta, vinagre, aceite y chocolate. Jabón para lavavajillas y lavadora.

The apartment was in a great spot in Trastevere. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Great home base. We walked to all the big tourist attractions in Rome from there (granted, we walk quite often and a lot). The host was amazing and met us at the property for check in and even arranged pickup to go back to airport for us when we were leaving. We really enjoyed our stay! Thanks so much.

Brilliant - a very well kept apartment close to the centre of Rome, transport, restaurants etc. this apartment has everything you need for a very relaxing holiday. This is a great little apartment, with everything you need. The hosts were quick to communicate, and helpful. The street is perfect, quiet for a good night sleep. Very close to good restaurants, a little market, supermarkets and also bus stops. Trastevere is the perfect place to stay, interesting, a little quieter and still close to everything.

This was a great place for us to end our time in Italy, the apartment was everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and dark to sleep in. It was very handy to have a kitchen, washing machine and iron etc with products to use these things supplied. Perfect spot!

Great Location, Wonderful Stay

My stay was 6 weeks in length. The location is ideal. Situated in Trastevere, in a quiet location but only a 5 min walk to Santa Maria Basilica. The kitchen was stocked with essentials to prepare your own meals. Carmela was easy to communicate with and I would stay here again.

Fabulous location and apartment!

The apartment was in a really good location. The neighborhood had plenty of restaurants but you felt more like a local. Carmela was a dream to work with. Met us at the apartment, setup transportation for us and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend staying here.

Great location, wonderful place

We (my spouse and I) stayed here for a week in February to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. The location is the best - close to all of the fun the neighborhood has to offer. The beds are comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed. We visited just about all of central Rome during the days and used Trastevere and Testaccio as our 'home neighborhoods' for breakfasts and dinners. The owners we responsive and very helpful. Overall a very fun week in a lovely apartment.

A Glorious Stay...

I spent three weeks in this lovely apartment in Trastevere and within a couple of days after I arrived, it truly felt like home. A terrific location with an open air market, stores, and restaurants around the corner and just fifteen minutes from the Garibaldi Bridge that takes you across the river. If truth be told and I didn't have a return airplane reservation, I certainly would have enjoyed staying longer in Rome, a city that I am absolutely in love with. Carmela is a gem and I so appreciated her warmth and friendship. I truly look forward to my return visit!

Good location

The location was great after being in the very touristy Rome area right before our stay in Trastavere. The AC in the bedroom didn’t work as well as we needed. It was hot to sleep. The unit was well appointed.

Charming, helpful host

Host was so very helpful. Apartment nicely fitted out. Tea, coffee etc. The two private rooms were very nice. Small kitchen but workable. Our only concern was the noise till late hours. Great restaurants nearby. Wonderful market very close in the piazza.

Great apartment!

The apartment was in a great location. Trastevere is a charming area with a lot of a wide selection of great restaurants. There were 4 adults staying in the apartment and there was sufficient room. The shower is probably the best in Rome -- spacious and plenty of hot water! The apartment was equipped with everything you need. Even though it is on the first floor (second floor for Americans), it can only be accessed by the stairs.

Great location for visiting Rome.

The apartment was perfectly located in a quiet area of Trastavere near a piazza with local market and nice restaurants. We did not need public transportation as all the major sites were within walking distance (30-40 minutes). Carmella was a great host and helped us in delivering a package we sent from overseas and arranged a ride to the airport. It also came with some basic food staples (like coffee-grazie) which is more than I can say for other apartment rentals I have had. You cannot go wrong with this booking this.

Unit was wonderful, start to finish! Wonderful vacation!!

Carmella was a great host. We requested extra sheets and she brought them the same day. She even helped with transportation to and from the airport. Everything was flawless. Location was perfect, easy to compute anywhere in Rome via metro/bus. Walking distance to the center of Rome, and neighborhood felt safe. Beds were so comfortable. We had all the amenities of Home.

perfect for a short stay

Carmela met us at the apartment and was very lovely. The apartment was perfect for 3 of us for 2 nights; beds comfy, clean, clean, clean, well-equipped kitchen. she supplies basice food items; coffee, olive oil, sugar etc. which was a treat. Location was fab in the center of Trastevere. My only reservation is that it was dark - there is not really any natural light. otherwise, it was great.

The Perfect Trip and Perfect Location Stay

We had the most perfect trip to Rome this October and it was made even better by this awesome flat. It is cute and cozy and had all the amenities you could need as a traveler and a awesome shower! Carmella the host could not be more accommodating in helping us arrange a taxi and meeting us late at night to let us in. The flat is only a few blocks away from all of the restaurants in Trastevere, a 5 minute walk to the #8 Tram line to go into the center of Rome and is across the street from a number of places to get a morning coffee and pastry and a evening apertivo! I wish I could come visit here every month!

Rome for Ryder Cup

Excellent property in old style building. Near to buses and plenty of restaurants, small supermarket close by. Apartment had everything we needed. Kitchen had all the appliances and tableware. Good to have a washing machine after 2 weeks on the road. And a wardrobe with plenty of hangers, European hotels and rooms seem to have only 3 in a room !!! Host welcomed us and explained everything. Comfortable stay and would come back here again if in Rome.

Nice apartment

Our stay at Ilaria's apartment was generally good. The location was within walking distance of Santa Maria Piazza which was a fun place with lots going on. The apartment was adequate for 2 but too small for 4 people. It had everything we needed but be aware the bedroom air-conditioner does not cool the bedroom adequately, and if you are not able to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs, this is not the place for you. Overall the apartment was accommodating and the host Carmela was very informative.

Fun neighborhood

Stayed here six nights with my wife and two daughters. Off the beaten path in an old neighborhood, a lot of eating opprortunities and some street shopping. Carmela is a very gracious host. She organized a taxi to and from the airport for me that made the experience very simple and economical. The metro system is lacking from this area, but the buses worked great and it is also close enough to walk to the city center. Great gelato shop on the other side of the block, 1 euro per scoop! The property is fairly roomy with a great updated bath. Absolutely would stay there again. One of the best owners I have dealt with on VRBO!

Needs an update and deep clean

First, host was fine. She arranged airport pickup and met us at the property. The apartment was not very clean. Dated and uncomfortable furniture generally but mattress not too bad. We never hung out in the living room, not very inviting. As others have said it's greatest asset is location.

Good location, convenient to walking and busses to Rome, good restaurants nearby.

Apartment size was good. Nice shower in bathroom. The building has an interior courtyard that transmitted noises from inside the building. The bedroom and living room each had portable AC units. The bedroom AC unit is noisy and one of the pillows needs to be replaced. The pillow was lumpy and uncomfortable. The fitted sheet was too small for the bed and I had to safety pin to to keep it in place. The building and apartment were very secure and safe! Overall our stay was a good experience.

We loved Casa Ilaria and hated to leave it, and the neighbourhood..

Carmela is delightful and ready to help with any problems ( we didn’t have any). She arranged a taxi from Fiumicino on short notice because of impending rain and met us at the door to the building. It’s a lovely space, very soundproof if you were using the living room as a second bedroom, and the bathroom has just been renovated, with lots of hot water in the walk in shower. Because we were there in unusually cold weather, the heating system and insulation were important and rate a thumbs up. We turned it on in the late afternoon and off before morning and it was always comfortable when we came back in the afternoon. The bakeries around the corner are terrific and we became “regulars”. Piazza San Cosimati is lively all day, with the market in the morning and impromptu soccer games among local kids at night. If you want a “real neighbourhood” , this is it. You are also 5 minutes from the steps up the Gianicolo for great views over the city and 5 minutes from the Ponte Sisto and all the “pedonale” streets in the Centro Storico. We hope to be back next year.

Trastevere holiday

We spent a month at Carmela’s Ilaria House. It is a spacious and comfortable apartment in a wonderful location. It is on the first floor and is just what we wanted to stay in- an Italian apartment. This is not an IKEA rental but from the moment you open the massive doors into the building, you know you are living in Italy. Everything worked well and the apartment was fully outfitted. Wine and coffee were welcome gifts. We were met at the apartment and given a thorough tour. The apartment looked just like the photos. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the bathroom was newly remodeled and the shower was great. It was cold by the end of November but the heat worked well and the apartment was always cozy. Carmela as host was superb. She responded immediately and was eager to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She was considerate and charming. The location could not have been better. In the heart of Trastevere but in a quiet corner. A daily market was around the corner and bus stops very convenient to the apartment. A short walk across the river and you were at Argentina or Teatro di Marcello and buses to take you anywhere. Thank you Carmela for providing us with such a wonderful place to enjoy the most beautiful city in the world. We would happily stay there again.

Wonderful Roman Holiday

Together with my wife I have lived at the Ilaria House for forty days in August/September 2009. I highly recommend it to everybody! It has been an excellent Roman experience, and when I come back to Rome I will definitely try it again. This is a wonderful apartment with all the facilities mentioned on its website. There are two air-conditioning units (one in the living room and another one in the bedroom). Both of them were doing a very good job. In fact I have been using only one at a time. The WiFi connection was excellent (54 Mbps) and worked without any interruption all the time. The kitchen has all needed appliances including all sorts of staples (e.g., coffee, oil, salt, etc.). Moreover, when I came, as a welcome sign, there was an excellent bottle of white wine and mineral water. Davide and Ilaria have been very nice and helpful. The bed linen and all towels have been changed on a regular basis. David e went out of his way both to wait at the airport when we came, and to take us back to the airport when we left (at 05:30 AM !). Moreover, Davide helped me with a cellular phone.
