We are just so happy you enjoyed the house, pool and more importantly the little gem of French countryside with all its medieval villages and gorges in this little unknown part of France. We have no words to describe our disappointment with this review and urge prospective guests to read the 5* reviews both before and directly after the this stay. We can only draw from this that our house was not for these guest and we cannot be responsible for personal taste and expectation. We appreciate there was a complication with the pool at the beginning of the stay, which the guests were advised of and in turn was rectified as quickly as possible. We feel that this possibly lead to the series of negative and over exaggerated issues. After making enquires with our changeover colleagues we were made aware of the guests unreasonable expectations, the house is a clean, tidy, well equipped traditional rural self catering property not an all inclusive 5* hotel which may have been a better choice. The smell ??? Seemed to disappear after the guests departed, it did not affect the next guests stay nor ours (and was certainly not sewage)neither was it there when we returned to our property. We replaced the washing machine as the guests made us aware this was really important to them , it would have taken longer to get it repaired so replaced it was. Ants, mosquitoes, bees in the lavender are what you would expect to find in rural France in the middle of an unprecedented heat wave . Ant pods are in place for that reason, plug in repellers are provided , keeping the windows and doors shut in the evenings is also a very good idea. We have never had the need to install mosquito nets before and do not advertise this. We do not keep chickens so do not have chicken wire on the property. Our front entrance has a secure surround as seen in our photographs and has never been an issue raised before . We would like to add, we made a trip to France to visit the property during this stay and at no time was any of the points (excluding the washing machine) raised with us directly whilst we were there , if indeed they had been we would of endeavoured to have addressed them there and then.
