Unique and Bespoke Stunning Thatched Dorset Shepherds Huts with Private Hot Tub

A pair of handcrafted shepherds huts which host bedroom and living space with a French enamel log burner, dining area for 2 and t.v, which leads through to a fully equipped galley kitchen which then leads on to the other hut which is the bathroom which has an amazing steam shower for two ! Equipped with lights, bench, foot massage, steam maker, rainfall shower plus another shower head and various massage jets, bluetooth and fm radio. This shower unit also transfers into a steam room.

Outside there is your own private garden area, which has a Hot Tub with masses of jets and fountains - great fun, an enclosed fire pit with BBQ and garden furniture. The garden area is partially lawned and partially gravel and fully fenced. There is also a fishpond with fountain in the garden and a secret hidden deck that beckons for an evening aperatif while gazing over the countryside. A wonderful spot for early morning sunrises or stunning evening sunsets.

Cant say enough about our host Ruth,lovely chilled out lady kind and very helpful.Lovely welcome basket which was a lovely surprise.The property was everything and more we were so chilled out and relaxed.Slept so well gardens and views awsome.Had a fire pit on and had bbq on it .Hot tub is so clean and warm and so relaxing.

Shepherds hut

Private and secluded shepherds hut. Lovely property has all you need for an enjoyable break in Dorset. Local to all the great beaches including durdle door. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely peaceful stay

We stayed for our anniversary weekend and had the most peaceful, tranquil stay. Watching the sun set over the field in the evening and going to sleep listening to the owls was perfect and really took us back to nature. The welcome basket was a really nice touch, they really have thought of everything!

Dorset hideaway

Nice getaway place, easy reach of various top spots. Shower was a little confusing but nice pressure and hot. Really appreciated the arrival basket of fresh homemade bread, scones, milk and jam. Friendly hosts who let you be but in easy reach if needed.

We had our mini-moon here this weekend and the whole place was unbelievable! The most cosey, comfortable and chilled weekend. The hut was lovely and fully private. Hot tub was a lovely touch. Everything was clean and tidy upon arrival! One very minor downfall was no WiFi. We wanted to come and lock our phones away anyway, but we had no reception and being parents of young children we were just worried about people contacting us in case of emergency. Overall seriously satisfied with our stay Ruth was very welcoming and there if we needed anything!

Great little gem on the South Coast

We had a wonderful stay at Ruth's Shepherd's Hut. The property was just as listed (in fact it was even better!) and Ruth was the most welcoming host. It is set in a beautiful and peaceful location, with an amazing garden with some wonderful views and even a log fire. The hot tub was quite large (easily fits 4 adults) and very easy to operate. The interior was well decorated and comfortable, with a very large bathroom which includes the steam room. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept quite well. There's a pub just down the road, as well as some wonderful gardens where you can have breakfast, and a shop (and more pubs) in Wool, all no more than 10mins drive. And if you're going to tankfest, through the back roads took us about 12mins to get to the gates. A few things to bear in mind (for us not an issue but if you live in a city may be a surprise): it is in a rural setting, so things like mobile reception is a challenge (not just at the property) - we actually enjoyed not using our phones for 2 days! The property is perfect for a couple but more than that may be a bit overcrowded. And whilst the kitchen has all the facilities (2-plate hob and oven microwave) cooking large or complex meals may be a challenge. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Location is great with lots to do nearby with a shop and good pub locally.The property was ok but needs some updating. The shower wasn't working properly when we arrived and was either boiling hot or scalding hot so didnt get much use. It was waiting for a part apparently which we were told as we were leaving. The drain was also blocked so the water didn't drain away which meant you couldn't be in there for long even if you wanted to as the bottom tray filled with water. It constantly had a big light on too so we had to keep the blinds closed. Don't lean on the bathroom sink as it moves. The bed was comfy but is high so might be an issue if you have low mobility. Sofa was nice and cosy and the blankets were a nice touch. The whole place is uneven (being at sea) and you can very much tell it was "homemade". The floor creaks everywhere so no sneaking for a quiet wee in the night. Lots of utensils and crockery in the kitchen and the small oven and hot plates worked for cooking. However the fridge is wonky and has a piece of wood above it so doesn't always shut. There is a lovely pond in the garden but it has a fountain in it that doesn't switch off so you can hear it all night. There is a rooster at the farm/house next door which woke us up at 5am every day and continued to make noise for well over an hour. The hot tub was great but noise restrictions from 9pm. Decking around the tub is loose as are the front steps. We were really disappointed in our stay. We wouldn't return.

Wondrous Sheperds Huts

Had a fabulous stay in these super Sheperds Huts, they had all the modern amenities that you would expect, very cosy, lovely setting. Great owner. Already planning our next trip down to see Ruth!

Just gorgeous

So relaxing and very secluded, it was like staying in a little perfectly formed hobbit house - we loved it! The hot tub put the extra wow into the stay along with the stunning views of the Dorchester countryside

Perfect for a honeymoon

Amazing little gateway it the most beautiful setting. Ruth was very welcoming and friendly on our arrival. Nice little touch with a welcome hamper perfect way to spend our honeymoon. We will definitely be going back.

Tranquility Personified

An amazing place to get away for a few days. Ruth is an amazing host and the little extras are a lovely touch. The huts are exactly as described and are very cosy. The hot tub was wonderful for relaxing as was the hidden patio. Just what we needed. I cannot recommend enough.

Superb stay in an excellent property

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay in this delightful luxury sheperhds hut. The hut is incredibly spacious and very well designed with the kitchen walk through and the large bathroom. The outside area is beautiful and secluded. The deck with table and chairs overlooking the fields was a lovely little breakfast spot. We enjoyed the hot tub, although not being able to use it after 9pm was a bit of a shame, however we appreciate the noise could have been an issue that late. The sun loungers arrived during our stay and were an added little bonus. The location was great; close to the fabulous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, we enjoyed a vineyard tour at the local Langham Wine Estate and had an evening meal at the Frampton Arms which is close by. Ruth was a great host, incredibly helpful and friendly. The basket of fresh bread, milk and crisps was a lovely touch, as was the afternoon tea board with scones, strawberries and little cakes - a lovely treat for our arrival. Thank you Ruth, we had such a great stay!

A lovely private retreat

Well equipped shepherds hut everything you need for a few days away. Amazing shower with the added bonus of a private hot tub. Everything explained well by the owner and on hand if anything needed. Well worth a visit.

Excellent stay

Absolutely brilliant stay, the host is great and couldn’t be more helpful, the cabin is fantastic and has everything you could need , loved sitting in the hot tub at night under the stars and we lucky with the weather so enjoyed the tub in the sunshine also You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here

A little about us - Mike and Ruth. Our home is Hedera Cottage which is attached to our other holiday let Godwin's Cottage. Mike has lived here for many years and has worked long and hard on updating the cottages and grounds. It was in need of a bit of TLC when he took it on. He is a digital marketeer by trade and can be found a lot of the time sat at the kitchen table drinking masses of coffee tapping away on his keyboard. Ruth joined Mike a while ago after moving back to the UK after working in France for 17 years running a large Chateau. Furry Friends - Lulu an elderly black Labrador that is the Head of the family, Gordie another black Lab who likes to think he is head of the family and Harley our soft and loving Irish Wolfhound and Percy & Mayzee, 2 black cats who look down in disdain at the silly dogs. The garden is partitioned off so the animals will not disturb you, but are more than happy to play with new friends if you would like that. Occasionally the 2 daughters of the family return, normally when in need of a roast dinner or a bank balance top up. At the moment they are working hard and travelling the world.


























Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The Huts in the Glade is a place where you can totally unwind and relax. The property is edged by Laurel hedges at the front & side, surrounded by it's own grounds, approximately 2 acres and edged by open fields at the back and a horse paddock at the bottom of the garden. It is totally secluded and peaceful. All you tend to hear is the night time hooting of the owls, the morning song of the birds, the occasional bark of a deer (or dog!) and the whirring of the pheasant as he and his partner like to feed from our bird table ! So although being able to get into the hustle and bustle of the towns and tourists down the road, it is a haven to come back to in the evening and relax.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Mike and I hand built our set of Shepherds Huts. They are totally unique and you won't find any others like them in the world. This means you get a lot of extra space than normal huts, including a full bathroom & kitchen. The glade is peaceful and calm. If you want to go to sleep listening to the hoot of owls or the nightly calls of the stags. To sit outside star gazing and then be woken up by birdsong, this is the place for you.
