The cottage was clean and tidy with all we needed, bed was comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. Easy flat walk into town. Slight issue with accessing the app in order to get into the property, other downsides parking was tight and steps down to the back door were steep and uneven. Also stairs inside the cottage were steep too. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great place but be aware that there are 30 steps to parking spot . Parking spot also needs negotiating and could be improved by levelling to the road. Also be aware of the little top step into the bedroom.Excellent kitchen - everything you need.A nice lounge area.Very convenient to the town.Recommended to able bodied guests.

The property was well modernised and clean with all amenities for a stay in Bakewell. The things I was not happy with was the noise of the traffic on the main road outside which was not mentioned, the stone steps to the rear of the property where steep and uneven and to park your car in the allotted space was in danger of damaging your vehicle.

Stay at 2 Victoria Cottage

A lovely stay, loved the cottage, the garden steps were ok we used both the top and bottom gardens, perfect location, comfortable bed, great shower and well stocked kitchen, all in all we will rebook when we come back to Bakewell.

My stay at 2 Victoria Cottages was very nice. The pros were that the cottage is very well-appointed with a well-stocked kitchen, a nice bedroom and bathroom and a little private outdoor patio. There are also lots of maps and books for various trails and activities in the area to help with exploring. The cons were that it is on a very busy road. Thankfully it quiets down at night. If you are walking to town a lot, the main road can be a bit busy to walk on but there is a nice footpath along the canal, which is located across the main road past the old mill. The steps to get down to the cottage from the back would be challenging if you have any mobility issues. I don't recall the listing mentioning that the cottage didn't provide any toilettries apart from hand soap. Body wash or soap, shampoo and conditioner would have been greatly appreciated as I traveled from overseas and just assumed those would be provided, like they were in all the other places I stayed in during my UK trip. I stayed in a flat in Edinburgh after leaving Bakewell and it contained all the ammenities, plus dish soap and 4 laundry pods for my 4-day stay. It's those little touches that leave a lasting impression. I guess some VRBO properties don't provide toilettries, which is fine, it would have just been helpful if that had been mentioned so I could have been better prepared upon arrival. Other than that one minor detail, I very much enjoyed my stay in the cottage.

Birthday weekend

Fantastic little property, cosy, comfortable and so well equipped. Nice garden and close to Bakewell centre. Very clean, would book again. Cake was a lovely touch.

Great location and base for the walks and visits we wanted to do, parked the car and then walked or buses from Bakewell.Yes the parking is a bit awkward but managed OK even with an SUV. Steps down are steep but manageable with care and worth it for the top seating area views.Jenna the host provides loads of information, guide books, walks and OS maps so all very good and saves having to buy! Property very well equipped and thoroughly recommended this property.

It was as good as it could be. Clean, tidy and a nice cottage. We just found the road noise really bad and we had an accident in our car trying to park in the driveway as it wasn't an easy parking space. The steps down from the driveway was much steeper than I envisaged. Appreciate this is something the owner can't do much about. Being an older couple we should have found something a bit quieter and on the flat.

Excellent standard of property

Everything was as expected with a very clean and well resourced property. Well stocked kitchen and updated bathroom. Bedding of high quality and comfortable mattress. Stairs, both inside and outside are steep but clearly in the description. Close to town. Excellent value for money.

Cosy cottage

Lovely little cottage in bakewell. Check in was easy with jennas instructions and there was even milk in the fridge and a cake to welcome me. Only slight issue is the noise from the A6 that the cottage sits on. Also if you're tall like me the stairs can be slightly hazardous!

Ideal for self catering & good location

We particularly liked the well equipped kitchen which included a full size fridge. Every kitchen tool and appliance we needed was provided plus tea, coffee, sugar & a few spices. The apartment was comfortable and less than a 10 min walk along the canal into the town centre. We enjoyed the flowers and table on the terrace. The only negative was a little traffic noise during the day but not at night or early in the morning.

Visiting the Peak District

We enjoyed our stay in Victoria Cottage, a compact, yet perfectly formed Grade 2 listed cottage. The bathroom is modern and spacious, the couch and bed both comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to cook real food from the local farmers markets and farm shops! Jenna responded to questions quickly, directions for car parking we’re clear. As stated by other reviewers, the parking could be tricky, however we found that if we drove past and turned at the end of the lane and approached from that direction, it was easy in a Kia Ceed. We used both the upper and lower courtyards, a lovely decision to make!

Lo 5 minute walk into town to good selection of shops, grocery, restaurants/pubs/cafes/bakeries, The property itself is on a busy main road and has some traffic noise. Things to consider. There are steep narrow steps to navigate down from the parking space to the entry door to the property. Once inside the stairs to the first floor (bedroom annd bath up are steep and narrow also.

A lovely cosy cottage within easy walking distance to Bakewell. The private parking was a boon and we were able to enjoy the beauty of the Peak District on our daily excursions. Bakewell is well kitted for food and beverage. The cottage was marvellous and the thoughtful milk in the fridge on arrival was a nice touch. We both loved staying there.
