The Cottage is situated within the grounds of Cox Hill House. It has its own entrance & garden. Centrally located with the north coast 20 mins away, & 30mins to Falmouth on the south coast. We are very central in the county and perfectly positioned for day trips.

We are positioned within a world heritage mining site and are surrounded by beautiful footpaths and bridleways. Perfect for walking, exercising the dog and cycling.

The cottage is perfect for couples and up to 2 more guests that can be accommodated in a bunk bed.

The accommodation was lovely, very secure for the dogs and lovely large enclosed garden. It is a lovely location but is quite remote in the sense that nearest shop and pub are a drive away. That said there are wonderful walks from the property through Cornish Mining heritage.Check in an out was simple and the hosts are lovely.

It was quite central, lovely quiet place with enclosed garden, dog friendly, very clean with cereal, jams, biscuits, tea, coffee & milk provided. Received texts to welcome us. A great weekend experience.

Ideal chill pad quiet with nice grounds cosy living room lovely bathroom and comfy bed. This place is ideal in summer and I imagine would make a great winter retreat We needed to stay an additional night as the cottage wasn’t available the owners offered us the option of glamping next door which we tried they were very accommodating and the guy onsite was more than helpful I would recommend this to anyone with it’s central location it’s ideal for roaming about without to many long journeys

This property was in an ideal location for us. Rural , peaceful and outdoor secure space to let our dogs out. The interior balanced character such as the fire place with modern design like the under floor heating which made the rooms very cosy without direct heat. The finishes looked very modern and new and the property was very well equipped. Thanks for hosting 👌

The cottage was lit with fairy lights & a Christmas tree, a lovely touch. the welcome was amazing, with bread, milk, cereals, spreads, clotted cream, butter, tea, coffee, sugar & mince pies. There are TV's in the kitchen, bedroom & living room. The main bed was the comfiest I've been in. There's heating, but also the option of a log fire. The only small issue was it was hard to find in the dark. A beautiful place, dog friendly with a large enclosed garden.

Lovely stay

A quiet location with an enclosed garden, ideal for a dog. Very clean and well equipped, bed was so comfortable, plenty of coat hangers. Owners very knowledgeable about the area, gave us some really good advice. Lovely couple.

Highly recommended anyone staying here. Yet again another fantastic visit to a gem of a cottage and made all the more special by fantastic hosts Jools and Philip who go over and above to make sure your visit is memorable Welcome pack on arrival ..spotlessly clean..all the amenities you will need ..in a quiet location yet within minutes your close to shops beaches pubs takeaways Very dog friendly..Fresh free range eggs/Duck eggs end of drive Barbecue(with charcoal provided) and seating area outside where we entertained our local friends who also we amazed at the property Kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need Comfy lounge has a log burner and dining table very cozy and comfortable Utility room which was a god send with washer drying facilities /ironing board Bedroom one with a very comfy bed and fitted wardrobes/drawers plenty of storage Bedroom two cozy with bunk beds Most rooms have a TV Lovely garden area fenced off for dogs which gets the sun morning until night and sun loungers A fantastic gem of a find for a memorable holiday

This is a great property when hijacking with your dog as the garden is sole use and secure . Great base for exploring the region . The prosecco , scones ,jam ,cream,butter ,tea and milk was a lovely welcome

Absolutely amazing place to rest

The cottage is amazing, has everything you need. The garden beautiful and the area is breathtaking. The hosts Jools and Philip absolutely nice people, so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our dogs enjoyed they stay as well ☺️ We will return definitely.

Wow, the accommodation was lovely everything you need home from home, only downfall there was no freezer!! but that wasn’t an issue. Lovely big garden for the our dog to wonder around. Fresh eggs straight from the farm at the end of the drive. Very quite location, easy access to Truro, Redruth, and surrounding area’s. Only down fall we found was you had to travel to find a takeaway, so it’s best to have dinner out, and just something light in the evening. .

A great base for exploring the county

The cottage was great and a perfect base for exploring the region. Very clean, well stocked and Jules and Phil are on site to help with anything if needed. If anything the pictures don’t do it enough credit. A sunny garden with bbq and seating? The cottage itself was warm, modern and cozy but plenty of room for a family of 4 & the pooch In an 8 day stay, we took in st.Ives, Padstow, Fistral, Newquay, Perranporth, Crantock, Mevagissey, Falmouth and Treyarnon…All of which were within 15-60 minutes from the cottage Couldn’t fault it

Absolute heaven

We were totally blown away with the Cottage home from home So clean comfortable and the owners Jools and Philip were so welcoming and friendly nothing any trouble We loved it so much we booked for next year Just the ticket for a relaxing break in a perfect location for tourists visiting different parts of Cornwall Large garden for our small dog to wander and seating area/barbecue to chill after a day's sightseeing This property has everything you will need and we can't wait to visit again

Fantastic summer break

We had an excellent experience here from the generous and warm welcome through to the sunny departure Jools and Philip have been amazing hosts. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. The garden is a good size and felt secure and safe for our small children to run around in. The property is also really well located as a base to explore the county. I'd highly recommend staying here. Thanks again Jools and Philip!

Enjoyable Cornish summer vacation

Jools & Philip both provided a warm welcome and were always available should there have been any need. Communications to finalise arrangements and answer questions prior to arrival was excellent and always timely. The property was ideally located for our family holiday with travel times of 30-40 mins max to Newquay, St Ives or Falmouth, as well all our favourite beaches along the north coast, with closer facilities for shopping and food in Truro and Redruth. The property itself was clean, comfortable and had everything (and more) that we needed to make this our home from home. The garden was a good size, with ample space to play and relax, as well as enjoy a few BBQ’s. Would happily recommend and would definitely return in the future.

Our Names are Jools & Philip,

We live at Cox Hill House, Chacewater, Truro. We have been letting our large house to families for holidays for 4 years now and now add our cottage for people to holiday in.

We love the outdoors, we keep dogs and Jools likes to work them during the winter months. Philip loves his motorbikes.

We live on site and are always available for anything should you need us. We really are perfectly positioned for you to have day trips around the county.

We are within close distance to many golf clubs, Truro, Falmouth, Tehidy to name but a few. Even St Mellion is only an hour away.

The home and surrounding area is very quiet and rural, but on the edge of several villages. Perfect to come back to after a day on the beach or sightseeing.

We have virtually zero light pollution and the stars at night in our garden are stunning to see.
