Fonda del Mar es una lujosa propiedad frente al mar en Tamarindo. Fonda se encuentra en un enclave cerrado de cuatro casas de lujo, a poca distancia de todo. No es necesario alquilar un coche para su estancia. Usted puede disfrutar viendo los barcos ir y venir mientras que en la playa o relajarse en la piscina con café por las mañanas. La naturaleza está justo a su puerta como los monos aulladores de vez en cuando pasar y puedes compartir tu fruta con "Julio", la iguana residente.

Fonda del Mar ofrece dos alojamientos: La suite de huéspedes inmaculada que se encuentra en el segundo piso con una entrada privada y la entrada de nivel planta baja Estudio. La suite de invitados tiene una gran cocina y comedor con una mesa con capacidad para 4 personas. Hay un refrigerador de tamaño completo, cocina superior con 4 quemadores y un contra horno. La sala de estar es grande y se combina con el área de dormir. Hay una cama de matrimonio y el salón tiene dos sillas cómodas, mesa de cóctel con un televisor de pantalla plana en el armario. Perfecto para parejas que disfrutan cocinando en.

El apartamento estudio tiene una cocina de eficiencia con mini nevera, microondas y placa de cocinar. Hay una cama de matrimonio y una mesa de bistro para dos y un pequeño televisor de pantalla plana. El apartamento estudio es perfecto para aquellos que quieren el lujo de estar en la playa a un precio económico y no les importa cocinar en sus vacaciones! Tanto la suite como el estudio cuentan con baños con duchas, aire acondicionado y conexión a internet. Usted puede alquilar tanto alojamiento para dos parejas o una familia con niños mayores.

This space was amazing lots of secured gates and so forth but that’s what made it feel safe . Host was very much involved with communication and keeping us informed. The villa and all its surroundings made this a great place to relax and enjoy. The highlights for me was the pool and right on the beach. All the decor and outside made it feel very welcoming. Definitely will be going back again . Thanks Maria !

Disappointing

Unfortunately, this property is not as listed on VRBO. Some of the pictures of the outside of this property are of and from the main home, not the suite. The listing indicates beach front, however, the main home is beach front and the suite is behind the main home. In my mind, beachfront is on the beach, not behind a home on the beach. The picture on the website from the beach is of the main home, which is not where you will be staying, you will be behind that home. The picture from the side patio is also from the main home, not the suite. The view from the side patio of the suite is of an open area filled with weeds and you can see a sliver of the beach through a fence covered with tarps. My husband and I only stayed one night of our six night stay. We were so disappointed that our view was of the back of the main home, not the beach and would not have chosen to stay here had we known that. The grounds themselves are very nice and seem to be well secured. My only request of the owners, please show honest pictures of the suite(where it's situated on the property), the view from the suite and advise in the description this isn't beach front it's behind the main home, so people can make an informed decision when they are choosing where to stay on their vacation.

We had the best vacation! The property, location and beach were fantastic. The apartment and property were very clean. Karen and Otonio maintain the property and kept everything beautiful. María was fantastic to communicate with. You can’t find a better location. Close enough to town but far enough away for quiet time. We will most definitely return

Our own paradise!

Such a beautiful place to stay - our own little paradise! Maria was very helpful with check-in and setting up surf lessons for us right outside the house on the beach. We planned on seeing so much more of Costa Rica but this property was just too beautiful and we didn't want to leave. Karen the housekeeper was also very friendly and helpful. Everything was as described and we can't wait to return! Pura Vida!

Great Location & Facilities

This is a perfect location. It's quiet in the yard with your own private pool and outside eating area, and yet it's walkable to town and all the action at the restaurants/bars. We loved our vacation and this place! Great communication with the property manager Maria. She arranged our transportation to/from the airport. Loved Costa Rica!!! We felt safe and enjoyed our vacation and will definitely return.

Pura Vida Perfection

If you are looking at this property right now, quick book it! First of all, the location is perfect- just far enough from the hustle and bustle but a short beach walk to all the restaurants. The one bedroom cottage is decorated well, comfortable bed and very clean. Costa Rica is hot but who cares when you have a great pool and palapa to cool down. Property is very secure and you are right on the beach for sunset every night. Thank you Maria and Karen for being so accommodating during our short stay. We hope to return. Mucho Gracias!

Perfect location

This was such an amazing property!! The manager, housekeeper and Gardner were fantastic!! The only thing I would say is perhaps they should charge $5 extra per night to have shampoo, q-tips, robes and coffee. A bit of a miss for guests traveling more than 10 hours to get to one of the best places on earth only to have the chore of finding a market to shop. That’s our only complaint. Would have paid a few dollars extra for that. And the keys- so many keys :). Overall would totally recommend- as long as the owners are not there. Because that would have just been weird. Thanks for an amazing stay in your gorgeous space!!!!

Quiet and close to everything in town

I'd recommend the suite to any couple or single person. It's comfortable, the property is literally 25 feet from the beach, and you can't be closer to town. The suite is behind the main house, and shares a private pool with a great shaded lounger. There's a beach club on one side, and the Ocho resort on the other. There's also a small outside deck which is always shaded, and is perfect for reading or sharing a glass of wine. The kitchen is perfect, and great closet space etc. (The outside deck in the listing is actually part of the main house, and is not accessible to the suite.). Highly recommended-- with thanks.

Fantastic Stay!

This property was a dream! The living/sleeping area is not a large area, however it is perfect for a couple looking for an ideal location. It is clean, modern, and has everything you need! The pool/garden area was amazing! Being steps from the beach was such a treat. We were also a short walk to town, and found ourselves walking to town on the beach often. You cannot beat this location!

Exceptional place!

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Fonda Del Mar. It is truly a sanctuary with every detail being taken care of. The apartment is spacious and lovely with a fully stocked kitchen. Great bed, beautifully decorated, light and bright. The pool area and proximity to the beach cannot be beat. While within easy walk to restaurants and shopping, it feels removed and peaceful. The owners Linda and Dave and property manager Maria are wonderful and so helpful. Can’t wait to go back!

Absolute gem

This property is everything it is described as and more. The location is ideal on the quieter section of the beach with direct, easy access to the water and a short walk into town. We were fortunate to meet the owners and so appreciate them making this property available for rent. We loved the artwork everywhere, especially the mosaics. This is definitely a 5 star property! Tamarindo Beach

Hi! I don't often write reviews, but felt I should for this property. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We loved Tamarindo, the beach, the shells, the nightlife and the restaurants. We TOTALLY recommend The Dragon Fly. We went there 3 of 5 nights. Their food, service, prices, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding. The grounds for the property itself were beautiful. The pool was such a treat and the host brought extra chairs to make sure we were all taken care of. The host also addressed the air conditioning not working promptly. My two significant complaints are that the bed in the rental with the blue bed spread pictured is two twins pushed together which makes cuddling very uncomfortable. The other complaint is the view from the actual unit is not represented in the pictures. The property has the views represented and a renter has access to the full property, but from the actual rented unit one can barely see the beach and the immediate sitting area was nothing to write home about. Overall we liked the property, but think the bed needs to be changed and the listing needs to be more fairly representative of what the renter actually gets.

Great Place to Stay

I reviewed all the reviews and don't have much more to add to all of the superlatives. It is a great place to stay and Maria was wonderful and responsive! We absolutely loved the pool area and had the place to ourselves. My brother stayed down the beach at the Coast Hotel and I have no doubt we had the better accommodation. That being said, there are a few personal observations I believe others may benefit from knowing prior to enjoying this property: 1. The shower pressure is, well, horrible. It pains me to say as the place is so great, but it was really bad. 2. The upstairs apartment is not oceanfront. It is not advertised as such, but from the pictures you may think it is. There are no real ocean views from the actual apartment. It is more of an "in-law" apartment in the back of the main house (which is ocean front and spectacular). 3. The mattress on the bed is comprised of two single/twin mattresses. Therefore, there is a noticeable crack down the middle where the two mattresses come together. 4. Keys. Maria provides one set of 5 keys and a separate remote (think car fob) for the alarm system at night. There is a key for the apartment, gate to beach, safe, gate to house, and one other. Having only one set of keys can be an issue (note: we never asked for a 2nd set and perhaps she can provide one). So, anytime you leave the property, you need to use at least two different keys to get both out and into the property. 5. Housekeeping. There is a tidying up service provided by Karen Tues, Thurs, and Sat. This was a nice surprise. Again...save maybe the shower pressure...absolutely none of these nits would prevent me from returning to this wonderful property.

Beautiful

Everything was spectacular, beautiful accommodation, great security, great location. The accommodation was first class. We even had beautiful monogrammed beach towels. The only negative was there was not a gas/propane barbecue or a microwave as we like to cook our own meals. Decently supplied for meals.

Gorgeous Tamarindo villa

Beautiful villa with easy beach access right out the door. Great accommodation with plenty of space and very clean. Lovely housekeeper and gardener, great place to getaway and read, relax, and enjoy Tamarindo. Maria super helpful and responsive, very appreciative of transport assistance/advice.

The perfect place to stay in Tamarindo

In Nov 2018 my wife and I stayed at this property. It was our first time in Costa Rica, and we could not have found a more perfect place to stay and experience Tamarindo! We had the whole property to ourselves and the pool area was so nice to cool down in. The beach access was awesome! The best spot on the beach was right at the end of the beach access path. One of the surfing breaks is right in front of the property. For only a short 3 minute walk away, we had access to all of the beach restaurants! The apartment itself was very nice, comfortable, and clean. We will be staying here again in the future and will be bringing friends and family with us. The only complaint I had is that the accuracy of the online listing does not do it justice. Also, the manager was very friendly and helpful! We can't wait to come back.

Pura Vida perfect

The suite was perfect and as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed very comfortable and the AC was great for sleeping. The pool was fantastic, including a cabana. We were the only ones there. You are just a few steps away from the beach. Restaurants within walking distance on the beach or in to town. Maria greeted us and there was info in the suite with local suggestions. I would highly recommend Casa Fonda del Mar.

What a fantastic stay at Fonda del Mar. Suite was perfect size and well appointed. The pool area was spectacular, pictures don’t do it justice. The location of the property is ideal with only a 20 yd walk to the beach and 5 mins from town. We feel lucky that the owners share their piece of paradise!

Heaven on Earth!

Fonda del Mar is a hidden gem....beautiful apartment and amazing grounds. We were here for 3 weeks and could not have had a more wonderful time. We have been in Tamarindo many times and love the area. Fonda del Mar had everything and more. The staff is incredible, taking care of every need. We will definitely stay here again!
