Esta casa fue pintada recientemente, el baño del primer piso completamente renovado, ¡y está lleno de encanto! Ubicada a solo 60 minutos de Chicago ya 50 minutos de South Bend, esta casa es perfecta para vacaciones de verano, recorridos de bodegas de fin de semana y fines de semana deportivos de Notre Dame. ¡Un patio trasero gigante te separa de la hermosa playa Sheridan de Lake Michigan! Relájese en la gran terraza trasera, disfrute de los juegos en el patio trasero o siéntese alrededor de la fogata en el patio de piedra. No hay calles de 90 pies, para que pueda disfrutar de la paz y la tranquilidad.

The broken up sidewalk made it difficult move in all of our stuff. The sump pump kept kicking on every few minutes and was disruptive for our sleep. The host was responsive to my text message. The location was good. The back yard and deck was very nice.

Hello Donna, I am sorry that your stay was disrupted by the severe weather in Indiana. Due to severe storms there was a abnormally excessive amount of ground water that required the pump to run consistently for two days of your stay. We monitored this via a camera in the basement. This is not the norm and a refund was sent for the disruption to compensate, I do realize this does not make up for a good night of sleep on holiday. We were truly sorry, there was excessive flooding in the area and the house had to do it's job to keep the water out. We have since had sound proofing walls installed around the subpumps to mitigate noise should this happen again. I do apologize for the sidewalks, that is not part of our property and we have contacted Michigan City for repair. I regret it rained during your stay and you were not able to enjoy the beach and town as hoped. A giant bummer and hope you try to come back to MC another time to enjoy the sun and beach.

This is a great beach house. It's not huge but you can't beat the location and it's in great shape and well appointed. We hosted 3 generations (grandparents, parents, and teens) and we had enough room to make meals and dine together. The beach is right over the dunes but just sitting in the backyard is enjoyable and relaxing. Also in walking distance of Washington Park. I recommend staying here for a good beach stay.

What a great location for a young family vacation!! We walked over one dune and in 3 minutes we were directly on the lake. The backyard play set was great for our 4 and 6 year old. As it is an adorable, renovated older home, there was a minor issue that we found when we arrived. I reached out and it was quickly resolved.We would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a great beach vacation!!

This house is the perfect location to enjoy the beach! We have stayed multiple times and keep returning due to the proximity of the beach! This house also has everything you could need when traveling with kids, so packing is a breeze. We stayed over the 4th and enjoyed fireworks over the lake.

Great beachfront stay

Proximity to beach is the best feature of this place. The yard and swingset are also great for small kids. Beds are comfortable, upstairs loft is very spacious. Kitchen was well equipped and overall everything was very good

Great house for girls trip!

Stayed here for a girls trip! Right on the beach with great outdoor area. Close to New Buffalo wineries. The hosts were great to communicate with. Would definitely stay again

Quiet retreat

Needed to be close to Chicago but with COVID times prevalent, we needed a great place to celebrate and get off the hectic grid. On the beach. Outdoor spaces are ideal.

Perfect for family with young children

We love this house! The location is the best we can ask for for a beach vacation, the grass yard and play set is great for younger kids and the adults enjoyed the deck with plenty of seating to chill. House is clean with everything we need. Host is communicative and replies fast to any question we have.

Great beachfront home

This place has all the comforts of home. Very clean and cozy with a well stocked kitchen. Loved the large backyard and fire pit. So many extras for kids including many toys and the jungle gym. We contacted the host a couple of times and our questions were quickly answered. It’s a very short walk to the beach. We would love to stay here again.

Very cute place! Lots of pros and a few cons. Pros include: excellent location, outside area and patio is gorgeous! Great yard, lots of toys and seating, Even had a playground set!! Just a short walk over the dune to the beach. Lots of supplies throughout the house make it very nice. Air conditioning was outstanding and kept us very cool on those hotter days. Very comfortable beds with extra sheets and blankets! Great propane grill ( big and clean). Kitchen was well stocked and has everything! Beautiful sunsets and lots of nature! Highly recommend for a small group. Cons include: no beach view, parking is away from house so you need a wagon or cart to haul stuff from car to house. Path from car to house is a bit uneven and had no lights ( very dark) and tricky for elderly folks. In fact there wasn’t much exterior lighting outside ( the front door or on the back porch where the grill is. There are no railings for the steps from porch to yard- was difficult for my father to go up and down. Internet/wifi isn’t great. Bunk room is great for small kids, but no so much for teens. Small space with nowhere to put clothes/suitcases- made for a very crowded stay with 4 boys age 13-16. Stairs going up to second floor bedroom had a rope instead of a railing which wasn’t very sturdy and came out of the wall, making it very tricky to go down the stairs ( they were kind of steep). Kitchen is well stocked and has a dishwasher, but the stove was super small.

Great little Beach Cottage

We stayed here as a family of 6 with grandma & grandpa included! So a total of 8! This was such a great location and so perfect running back and forth to the beach. It was sooooo nice to have all the beach essentials included. The outdoor space is amazing! We are outside so much! I had originally missed that there was no washer & dryer included but the host was so gracious and even offered to do some laundry for us as we were playing softball while we were there! We would love to come back!Any questions we had Aimee was super quick to reply and help out!

Great Beach Cottage

The cottage was very clean and had everything our family needed. The location is great -- EASY accessibility to the beach and plenty of available parking. The walk from the parking lot to the beach was not an issue for us as others have mentioned. Just a short walk down the sidewalk -- nothing more than you would experience walking to/from a condo. The host was very responsive when we reached out with questions. Loved the outdoor shower! Overall, we had a great week at the beach. Thank you!

Great Family Beach Getaway

Though the actual cottage is not straightforward to get to, the owners were very good at communicating where to park and how to get there. It is evident that the cottage is well taken care of and cared about by the owners. The path to the beach is technically a public path but that was never a disturbance. It is a 3 minute (brisk) to 5 minute (normal) walk to the actual beach but again, not a problem if you’re prepared for it. Our family’s experience was wonderful, and if we ever head this way again, we will surely stay here!

Upscale Charm on the Lakefront

Fantastic lakeside property with great interior design and the perfect amount of space for a family. The yard is INCREDIBLE and extremely rare in this area, and the porch that leads to it is equally excellent. The beach is just over the shallow crest of dunes at the end of the yard. Everything else about the house was excellent: cleanliness, communication, ease of use, instructions, and extra stuff like towels and bottle openers and things like that. The family room is a great hangout area and the A/C is running like a top. Fantastic sunsets also!

Amazing location

We absolutely loved the location and outdoor space of this property! The beach is so close and an easy walk over the dune, even the 22 month old could walk it. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms have been very nicely renovated. The upstairs bedroom is very large and has tons of stuff for kids and babies, however does not have a door or well fitting baby gate for the stairs. The downstairs bedroom was very small and something to be aware of when booking. We did not use the bunk room but it was very cute and was nice to have the extra space. We spent most of our time enjoying the back deck and yard and the play set was a huge hit with the kiddo!

Fairy Tale Vacation

My husband said this was the best place we've stayed in 42 years of going to beaches! We all loved it and hope to return. My youngest daughter is trying to figure out how to put together a conglomerate to buy Aimee & Adam out-that's how much she loved it. so many porch/deck options, big backyard and short walk over the dunes to the beach. You can faintly hear the sump pump but once we knew what the sound was it didn't bother us & didn't disturb anyone's sleep (& I am a VERY light sleeper). Only suggestion I'd have is if you don't like reusing a bath towel, might want to bring your own & bring napkins. Accommodations for the dog were great as well. Wally gave it two ruffs!

Charming beach house with everything you need for a beach vacation. Plenty of kids toys,beach equipment (umbrella and chairs). Short steep climb over dunes and your at the beach. Easier access down the road another very short walk. Plenty of sleeping rooms,crib high chair and a baby gate to block toddler from going upstairs. We used the outdoor grill for most meals. Indoor stove is old and small but worked for our needs. Bathrooms small,clean and tidy with plenty of towels. Outdoor shower with hot water amazing. We used it after our full days at the beach. We enjoyed ourselves every day. It was quiet,safe and cozy. Water pump never bothered me as some reviews mentioned. The house is small and old but we felt comfortable with my family of 4 adults and 2 children. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I love Lake Michigan

Adam and Aimee grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and currently reside in the City's Bucktown neighborhood with their rescue lab/ pointer and toddler son. Aimee is in management for a Genetic Cancer Testing Laboratory and Adam is an entrepreneur in the promotional products and real estate space. We both love the peace and quiet of this home in both summer and winter, although we prefer flip flops over boots.

We looked at one house and this was it! The charm of the home and close proximity to restaurants and Washington Park /Zoo/Marina were so wonderful but the cherry on top was the lakefront access and the beautiful grass back yard. We have worked to update the home while keeping the historic character in tact.

It has a wonderful green back yard if you just want to hang out there and enjoy the deck and a game of corn hole. The house interior is charming with archways and original fireplace and sconces. We hope you find it as restful of a haven as we do. (But we are known to dance on the lawn to loud music too).
