The ideal location of the Gite will truly impress you : from each window you can admire the beautiful views of the luxuriant forest, Ferrette’s castle and the main fountain.The Gite is immersed in nature but all the restaurants, shops and services are easily accessible at a walking distance (just a few minutes’ walk from the Gite).
Ferrette is very close to both Germany and Switzerland : Bâle / Basel is only within 30 minutes’ drive from Ferrette, Berne et Zurich only within one hour fifteen minutes’ drive.
On the french side of the border you can visit Altkirch, (within 15 minutes’ drive) Mulhouse and Belfort, (45 minutes), Colmar (one hour and a half) and Strasbourg (2 hours’ drive)The strategic location of la Maison des Fontaines will enable you to combine an Alsatian holiday in the country with many others outings : cultural visits, gastronomic experience (Antony’s cheese, Alsatian cooking such as fried carps) and sport-related activities.

Outside the high-season periods, in order to adapt our offer to your various needs (short or long stays) we offer either a rental formula on a nightly basis (which include breakfast served in the salle des fontaines or on the premises at the Maison des 5 Temps or a classical formula, on a weekly basis.

For those who like architecture, Design and art…the city of Basel is only thirty minutes away by car from Ferrette. Basel’s museums, the Beyerler Foundation, Tinguely Museum and numerous other museums offer exceptional exhibitions all year long. Don’t miss “ Art Basel “, the meeting point for the international art world. Vitra Design, located in the same area, is also a must.
For those who like the Christmas atmosphere in Alsace…The Christmas period in Southern Alsace will give you the opportunity to visit the enchanted forest of Altkirch and the Christmas markets of the region. During the winter period the Alsatian Jura area celebrates Christmas in a very special way and Ferrette is no exception : all the houses are decorated and all over the town you can smell the sweet flavour of Alsatian Christmas Spice Cakes.
