An ultra-modern barn conversion with the whole front wall in glass, giving stunning views across the vineyards. The bedroom, on the mezzanine level is accessed by spiral stairs topped off with a frameless glass balustrade. From the bed the window looks like a cinema screen! There is a full width automatic blind to give privacy to the bedroom at night. Beautifully appointed, with local stone floor, furniture by BoConcept, imported German kitchen and very modern wetroom, the barn is a place to relax and enjoy your holiday. The super king sized bed has a full Tempur mattress and all our linen is from the White Company in London. Downstairs is a stylish lounge with double doors open directly onto a generous decking. Designer Royal Botania table and chairs are provided for outdoor dining. There is a Mac computer for DVD's and music complemented by a built in Bose sound system.

Relax and Rejuvenate

Superb Switch off

Blois Blanc is lovely, superb attention to detail & fantastic facilities. We visited Cognac specifically for a wedding approx 6 miles away & did not know the area at all. Mandie & Badger are lovely & could not have been more helpful in recommending places to visit, providing starter kit of food & wine for our arrival, daily baguettes delivery, providing irons for wrinkled shirts & even fashion advice.....they are the perfect hosts & we will definitely return to explore the area & coast further.

A superb set-up

The barn conversion at Bois Blanc is excellent, a spacious, comfortable space with the most relaxing surroundings and views. The pool is magnificent and as hosts Mandie and Badger are first class. Excellent local and day trips and a wealth of local area knowledge means there is a lot to pack in. Local Voyer cognac, a must, as well as the astonishing virtual reality experience within the Hennessy Tour in Cognac.

Five Star Stay

Barn Bois Blanc is not your average holiday let, from the moment we arrived with a lovely message of welcome to the attention to detail in the Barn, everything was high quality and nothing was overlook. Pool was super clean and sun beds comfortable. Our hosts Badger and Mandie went above and beyond to make our stay memorable from the daily bread delivery to the delish cocktails . We will definitely be returning to this oasis

Everything about Bois Blanc Barn met or exceeded our expectations. Lovely space to stay, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, great hosts. Stairs may be tricky for some.

Wonderfull ! Une expérience unique au milieu des vignes.

Un accueil attentionné et chaleureux. On se sent directement comme chez soi. Le logement est de qualité et très bien équipé. Les petits +++ sont appréciés et notamment le pain frais apporté chaque matin. Les propriétaires sont discrets et mettent tout en œuvre pour que votre séjour se déroule parfaitement. Merci ! Serene relaxing holiday spot

Bois Blanc is a perfect place to relax... quiet, beautifully appointed accommodation away from it all and generous hosts. Fresh bread every morning was a treat and plenty of good advice about visiting local cognac producers.

Nice and cosy place to relax

We had a very nice stay at Bois Blanc! The house is surrounded by vineyards which are perfect for early morning walks. The pool is clean and has a very nice temperature. It is a very quite place. We did several day trips to Cognac, Bordeaux and the beach which was also very nice. Badger his wife are lovely hosts. They will help you with anything and know great spots to visit. All in all it was the perfect stay for our holidays.

Perfect stay

We booked quite last minute when we found out we would be able to travel to some countries for our honeymoon. Badger and Mandie were great hosts, the house is beautifully done up with very good quality fittings. I was concerned at the lack of air con, but even with 39 degree heat sleeping at night in there was cool enough as the whole building is north facing. Very well designed! Badger and Mandie gave us loads of recommendations of things to do and restaurants to eat at, there is an endless list! We loved our time here, particularly as we weren’t sure we’d even be able to have a honeymoon. Very relaxing and would highly recommend. Oh and also they bring fresh delicious baguette every morning 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Calme et tranquillité au milieu des vignes

1 semaine de calme et de tranquillité au bord de la piscine (grande) au milieu des vignes. La "grange" est magnifique et les prestations sont à la hauteur. L'accueil et la gentillesse de Mandie et Badger sont tout autant appréciables. Bref, un séjour au top !!!

Absolutely Stunning

Just returned from a week staying at this impeccable property, from the minute we arrived everything was catered for starting with the fantastic peaceful location surrounded by vineyards but still less than an hour from the coast. To the superb renovation of the barn, the most comfortable bed ever and even man sized towels. Badger is a most attentive and helpful host whilst still remaining unobtrusive, his suggestions for places to visit very helpful. If you want peace and total immediate relaxation you won't find anywhere better. Than you for a brilliant holiday, we will definitely return soon.

Fabulous luxury in a peaceful setting!

A beautifully presented, modernised barn in the heart of the Cognac region. Immaculately presented, we had a wonderful week here with many excellent suggestions for activities and excursions from the owner. Badger is a great and enthusiastic host who is there whenever needed, but never intrusive. Looking forward to returning...

Fantastic 5 star star

Mandie and Badger were brilliant hosts as we booked at one days notice and they could not do enough for us. From the excursion recommendations, the wine choices, the food on arrival so you didn't need to shop, through to the comfy bed, the heated pool and the fantastic music collection. We were spoilt rotten and we will definitely go back.

Wonderful stay so much so we are returning

From the moment we arrived we were blown away with how lovely the barn and its surroundings were. It was incredibly peaceful in an idyllic setting made all the more perfect by the meal Badger had prepared on arrival, this was a fantastic touch. The barn was spotlessly clean, every single thing you could possibly need to enjoy a long holiday was catered for. The bed was so comfortable, there are many dvd's available to watch and the coffee pods were a welcomed treat. My husband and i spent two glorious weeks at the barn, our stay was made all the more special by the attention to detail. Nothing was too much trouble for Badger, he ensured we had an awesome time, so much so we are returning a second time in August. I cannot recommend our stay enough, not only did we have a wonderful time but came away having made a life long friend.

Stressbusters don't come better than this!

Couldn't believe the quality of the accommodation - made us feel like movie stars! Within an hour of arriving, we were already unwound and relaxed, and will definitely be booking two weeks next year, instead of one. To be honest, I could live there!!!

My mother and I visited Bois Blanc, in June of 2014, we rented the Barn for a week. We were impressed by the grounds the building, and especially the pool. My mother and I really liked the modern facilities in the barn and the Cottage. The Barn was very clean, and tidy, the kitchen was well stocked with glasses and kitchen wares. The beds were very comfortable, and the view out the front of the barn was incredible. The grill on the porch was well used. The grounds were well tended and beautiful. My favorite place at Bois Blanc was the pool. Very well maintained, and a lot of fun. The lounge chairs were very comfortable. Mr. Davis was an excellent host, his wife was not there while we visited, however Badger(Mr. Davis), gave us a tour around the area, to the Cognac distilleries , and even took us Cherry picking on a friends farm. Overall, my mother and I both enjoyed our visit very much, and will visit again in the future. I recommend Bois Blanc, and the owners Chris and Mandie Davis for a relaxing and education experience. A pleasant change from South Carolina.

Stunning holiday rental not to be missed

In all the years we have taken our holidays in France, we have never come across such a gorgeous place as this. We rented the cottage whilst our friends rented the barn conversion. The place is set in the middle of the vineyards, yet just a short drive away from Cognac. The properties were immaculate and finished to an extremely high standard. Chris and Mandie were there to welcome us and couldn't have been more helpful yet not at all intrusive. We had the pool to ourselves and it really is an idyllic setting. We have already booked our stay for 2016 and would seriously recommend this place to anyone wanting a break away from their hectic lives. Our holiday couldn't have been better this year!

Fantastic property - A stunning place!

My family and another couple rented the 2 properties available at Bois Blanc and were totally blown away by the quality of the accommodation, the views and the wonderful service offered by the hosts. The interiors are finished to a very high standard with modern designer touches everywhere and the outside areas with the huge pool are just as breath-taking. It's in a quiet area with views all around and not far from local towns of Cognac and Angouleme plus close to beaches too. The property exceeded our expectations and we will be back!

Brilliant!

Can definitely recommend this property. An impressive barn conversion done in style - with lots of modern features. The pool is superb. The property is set in the countryside but within a short drive of the usual shops and amenities. Cognac (with its obvious attractions) is nearby. The owners are friendly and welcoming.

We are Badger and Mandie Davis, 50 somethings who moved to France on 2005. Mandie runs an educational business that teaches languages to children (UK and France). Badger is a retired Army Major who now renovates old properties and is a self employed graphic designer. We have 2 grown up daughters living in the UK. We bought Bois Blanc to escape from the rat-race and enjoy the French relaxed and laid back way of life,. We are both very creative and love renovation and styling our properties.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

The 3 L's guided us to buy Bois Blanc. It is set on its own at the end of its own track amongst the vines of the Grand Champagne Cru of cognac. The countryside is magical and the vines protect the house from any outside encroachment. We don't have immediate neighbours and the house and gardens are peaceful. The weather is generally really good and we can spend a big chunk of the year outside and by the pool. When we bought Bois Blanc it was a complete ruin but over the years of renovation we have started to make a little haven amongst the vines.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We have an unusually large pool and carefully landscaped pool area. We have deliberately kept the number of guests small, because we want to keep the exclusivity and peace and quiet for all our visitors to enjoy. Its a unique peaceful and comfortable hideaway and in fact you can't even see if rom the end of our road!

Set on its own at the end of its own track, Bois Blanc offers a chance to get away from it all and relax in the countryside. The cottage is traditional on the outside and modern and comfortable inside! The whole area is a grownup playground with cognac, wine, fantastic markets for food and seafood, interesting towns and villages to explore. Then there is the west coast with Royan, the isles of Ré and Oleron, lovely beaches and La Rochelle. After that you can explore Bordeaux, St Emilion and the wine growing region. If you have time spare then go inland to visit Angouleme and the east of the Charente. There is so much to do you will have to come back again to see it all!
