Casa en Tavira con cocina equipada, 2 habitaciones dobles, una con aire acondicionado, la otra con ventilador, dos baños, uno con ducha completa y una magnifica terraza de 20m2 con barbacoa, mesa, sillas y tumbonas.

Está cerca de las tiendas locales, el Jardín Municipal donde podrá relajarse por la noche, ya sea en las magníficas explanadas junto al río Gilão, así como en los numerosos espectáculos y ferias con productos regionales (miel, higos, aguardiente, pan casero y apetitosos dulces de la región.
La casa también está cerca de restaurantes con pescado fresco, mariscos y platos típicos de la región.
Tavira, además de ser una ciudad limpia y tranquila, es histórica y se remonta a la época de los fenicios y los romanos. Tiene maravillosas playas de arena blanca.

La villa está en el centro de esta hermosa ciudad histórica de Tavira, con su río Gilão, castillo de la Edad Media, galerías de arte, restaurantes, bares y supermercados. Las playas más cercanas son Barril, Fuzeta, Ilha de Tavira y Cabanas. El acceso a la isla de Tavira está a 200 m, las otras playas están a 10 minutos. ¡Ilha de Tavira fue elegida una de las 10 mejores playas del mundo para familias! Todas las playas se encuentran en la Reserva Natural 'Ria Formosa' y, por lo tanto, están muy limpias y cuentan con excelentes instalaciones.

Los lugares de interés incluyen pueblos locales al este del Algarve y pequeños pueblos como São Brás, Vila Real de Sto António, Castro Marim y, más lejos, Mertola, Alzejur, Serpa y Beja en el Alentejo.

Benamor y las 2 Quintas (Ría y Cima) son las más populares y se puede llegar en pocos minutos. El nuevo y prestigioso campo de Monte Rei diseñado por Jack Nicklaus ya tiene abiertos sus primeros 18 hoyos. A solo 10 km más hacia España, se recomienda encarecidamente el desafiante campo de Castro Marim junto con su famoso club de campo y justo al otro lado de la frontera se encuentran los campos de Esuri Costa y Quinta do Vale que ahora están creciendo en popularidad.

Perfectly placed

Great central position to all the restaurants, the castle and the ferry to the beach. Excellent air-con in the bedroom. Large terrace, with plenty of sun and shade. Maria and Paul were excellent hosts.

City town house

Maria is an excellent host she met us at the property and showed us round, the house is exactly as listed and convenient for shopping and restaurants. No car needed taxi rank just round the corner plus supermarket bus station 15min walk train station 20min walk. As you are in the centre you must expect some noise but there was no noise from bars or restaurants. You have a great roof terrace where we spent most nights having drinks also WiFi is excellent all over the house. I would like to thank Maria for her help and concern when my wife had an accident.

Lovely Traditional Portuguese House

I leased Maria’s house for three weeks for my son’s graduation trip to Portugal. It’s a lovely traditional Portuguese house, kitchen on the first floor, bedrooms on the second floor and a nice outdoor patio on the roof. Everything is exactly as listed in the information. Very clean. The location in old town is perfect, there’s a market across the street and lots of cafes, everything in Tevira is within walking distance. Maria was very communicative before and during stay ensuring everything was going well. She is very kind, she even arranged airport pickup for my son (her and her husband!) Obrigada Maria!

Great location but don't pay extras

The location of the house in Tavira is great. It is close to the historical centre, river and good restaurants. Even a free parking is only 5 minutes away. The place was clean and as described, except for 2 issues: extra payment of 60 Euro each for "linens and final cleaning", which we refused to pay before booking. These should be included in the overall price of the rental. The host agreed, so we rented. The second miss in the description was the host request, when we arrived, not to flash the toilet paper into the toilet and instead, put it into the garbage can. This request was bizarre from the hygiene point of view, but also because the host claimed it was to help the environment (!). Needless to say that the bathroom was stinking through our stay. If we knew about the toilet paper request, we wouldn't have rented the place. Otherwise, we greatly enjoyed Tavira and Algarve.

Friendly host

Maria was very friendly and helpful but the apartment was way overpriced for what it offers, and nothing near the standard one would expect for that price. And on arrival we had to pay cash for cleaning and linen! On departure we were charged for electricity and water, and would only accept cash. There is no comfortable relaxation area in the apartment. There is small couch in the kitchen which is small and cold, and it was not possible to heat to any extent as the electricity trips if you turn the heater up. There were no smoke or carbon monoxide alarms in the apartment, despite the gas cooker, and LPG gas cylinder being under the kitchen units. The apartment door leads directly onto a small tarmac lane along which traffic can travel at speed. You must check that there are no cars coming before stepping out into the lane, but there is no warning sign on the door. There supposed to be two bathrooms, but in fact there was only one. There is no hot water to the kitchen sink so you have to boil a kettle to wash the dishes. The toilet seat was laminated MDF which was cracked, and was quite unhygienic. The wi-fi was low data and very poor. Once we had used up our allowance (which didn’t take long), we were charged an additional fee for more. The bbq had not been cleaned. It was full of ash and the grill was rusty and unusable. Good points were that the sun terrace was a nice place to hang out when the weather was good (although it hadn’t been cleaned), and the bedrooms are comfortable (but no quilts, only blankets). It’s worth adding that we have stayed in Tavira and the Algarve several times and have never felt so exploited.

Très bon accueil. Petite maison avec terrasse agréable au 2eme étage. Le seul inconvénient, le dernier escalier n'est pas adapté aux personnes ayant un problème de hanche, de genou. En revanche, maison bien située, proche du centre historique, de bons restaurants.... Bateaux à proximité pour les plages

Herrlich zentral!

Das Haus eignet sich hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt zur Erkundung der Stadt. Auch die Anlegestelle des Bootes das einen zur Strandinsel bringt ist in nur 5 Minuten fußläufig zu erreichen. Wer allerdings Probleme mit Treppen hat für den ist das Haus nichts. Rundherum ein gelungener Urlaub!

Always a great stay at this property

We visited the property again in late summer and as before, had a great time. The owner, Maria, makes the whole process from start to finish very straightforward and we saw her during our stay, of course it helped that we had been there before. The location is quiet at night and only mildly busy during the day, the surrounding streets are very narrow, so the traffic is minimal. It is just a short level walk to many bars and restaurants and the river is 2 minutes away. There is a well-stocked supermarket just around the corner. Inside the property, you have two double bedrooms and plenty of extras (pillows etc.) are provided. Good wifi is a bonus. Maybe not totally suitable for younger children, given the layout of the property but ideal for a couple or even two couples.

Maison Tavira

Nous avons passé un bon séjour. La maison est bien situé à proximité du centre ville, petits commerces et du ferry pour aller sur les îles de Tavira. Par contre, la maison étant sur 2 étages, elle n'est pas très pratique pour les personnes à mobilité réduite. La terrasse est vraiment un plus. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Maria qui est très disponible et facilement joignable. Nous recommandons ce logement !

A fantastic stay at this lovely property

This was not our first stay at this house in a quiet corner of the historical centre of Tavira and it will not be our last. Maria made the whole process from booking to check-out very friendly and we had no problems during our stay, although she was in regular contact to ensure we did not need anything. That was kind. The description in the listing of the property is very accurate and the facilities do give you the choice of eating in, dining out at any of the many restaurants within 5 minutes walk or even having a barbeque on the wonderful private roof terrace. Especially recommend Tasquinha da Paula nearby, which is a truly Portuguese dining experience. There is a well stocked supermarket just around the corner, 2 minutes walk, that sells everything you would need. Very nice house and property host, worthy of a 5* rating in our opinion.

Im Winter zu kalt, wenig Komfort, ungemütlich. Aber sauber.

Hatten die Wohnung für eine Woche über den Jahreswechsel gebucht, zum vierten Mal in Tavira. Sind nach einer Nacht ins Hotel umgezogen. Ist im Winter zu kalt. Zusatzheizung in der Küche und Klimaanlage. Bad kalt (wenn man Heizung nicht immer hin- und hertragen möchte). Insgesamt einfache, lieblose und ungemütliche Einrichtung. Haus hätte Potenzial. Dafür passt Preis-Leistung dann nicht. Schade!

Was ich zu Ihrem Kommentar zu sagen habe, ist Folgendes. Portugal hat praktisch 10 Monate Sonnenschein und die Temperatur kann zwischen positiven 19 Grad im Winter und 40 Grad im Sommer schwanken.Die meisten Häuser in Portugal sind nicht mit einer Heizung ausgestattet, wie in den nordischen Ländern Nordeuropas, wo die Temperatur im Winter negativ ist. Das Haus verfügt über eine Heizung im Schlafzimmer, in der Küche und eine Heizung, die im Badezimmer aufgestellt werden kann. Es tut mir leid, dass Ihnen das Haus aufgrund der Kälte nicht gefallen hat, ich werde versuchen, das Haus in Bezug auf dieses Problem jedes Jahr weiter zu verbessern. danke und alles gute für dich. Great location, apartment needs a few upgrades

The apartment is ideally situated downtown, a 5 minutes walk to the river and another 2 minutes across either of the picturesque bridges to explore the other bank. There are a many nice places to eat on both sides of the river and it is lovely to stroll back and forth. There is a nice rooftop terrace where one can relax, enjoy the warm weather, and have a glass of wine or a meal. The bedrooms are large and the bathroom is functional and a good size. Maria was a responsive host, answering questions and helping with restaurant suggestions. Prior to booking we asked if the kitchen had an oven. She said it would and purchased a portable oven for the apartment that worked very well. Thank you! There are a few negatives that must be noted. The listing states that there is on-site parking and this is simply not true. Free street parking was a 7 minute walk away. Although we found a parking space each time, it was a constant worry on our return after each outing; I can’t imagine doing that in high season. It was also difficult loading and unloading the car at the apartment because the street was too narrow to allow anyone to pass while you unloaded. The mattresses and pillows on both beds need replacing—they are very uncomfortable. There is no indoor “living area” in the apartment. First floor has a kitchen and second floor has bedrooms and bathroom. There is nowhere to sit comfortably and relax. The only options are upright “kitchen” chairs or sun-bathing loungers on the terrace . There is a very old futon sofa in the kitchen which is low to the ground and not very conducive to sit and read. This could be remedied by a putting a couple of small armchairs on the under-utilized space on the top floor that houses the washing machine, or converting the 2nd bedroom into a den and renting it as a much more functional 1 bedroom apt. We did enjoy our time there in spite of this but I can’t imagine sharing with another couple, or staying more than a weekend as a family of four. Things that should be added to the kitchen: wine glasses, oven mitts, can opener, vegetable peeler, measuring cups/spoons.

Very enjoyable stay

This is a very traditional detached town house in a quiet residential area of Tavira, very narrow roads around the property, so not much traffic. The house is exactly as described, we found it had all we needed, including a washing machine. We did eat out most of the time but everything was there in the kitchen if we needed it. Very comfortable bed and very nice bathroom, everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived. The location is great, only a few minutes to the best bits of Tavira, including the boats to the beach. There is a very well stocked supermarket 2 minutes away, you could probably buy anything you needed for the holiday in there; a bigger supermarket is still within walking distance, over the bridge if you want to buy local produce to cook in the house. The roof terrace was very welcoming and private with lots of sunshine all day with shade also if you needed it, including a dining area under cover. Maria was wonderful to meet and communicated very well with us throughout the entire booking to checkout process.

Excellent location, wonderful flat

Our stay at Maria’s place was marvelous, the house was extremely clean when we arrived, the checkin procedure professional. The neighborhood is the best in Tavira, it is very close to the city center, but still quiet. The house is well furnished and has everything you need. The roof top terrace with the BBQ is a highlight, we used it almost every night. We will definitely come back!

Great location

The property is located on the edge of the main tourist area of Tavira and a short walk to the river and numerous restaurants and bars. Maria, the owner, is very helpful and accommodating (thank you for the welcome bottle of wine). I would recommend this property.

As fotos transmitem uma noção real da casa. A D. Maria foi muito prestável com tudo, e recebeu-nos muito bem. A casa está situada numa rua calma, mas muito central.

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung mit Dachterrasse

Der Aufenthalt in Tavira war wirklich sehr schön. Das Appartment hatte alles was man braucht. Das Bad ist sehr groß und man hatte viel Platz. Es war alles sauber. Aber am besten war die tolle Dachterrasse. Wir haben jeden morgen da gefrühstückt und hatten eine tolle Aussicht. Wir konnten jeden Abend zu Fuß zum essen gehen, das war auch ein großer Vorteil. Wir würden jederzeit gerne wieder kommen.

Perfect for our stay

A traditional apartment ideally located in the heart of Tavira. Maria was there to meet us on our arrival and made us feel very welcome with a nice bottle of wine. Took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure we could contact her should we need anything although this wasn’t necessary. The apartments shining light is a great roof terrace where the sun can be enjoyed all day. Would definitely return.

Great traditional spot in the heart of Tavira

This is our second visit to this property. It’s a traditional house with modern amenities. It’s close to everything you want to do in the old section of Tavira, but it’s still quiet at night. The roof top deck gets all day sun and it is our favourite feature. Thank you Maria, for a wonderful stay!

Sehr zentral gelegene, typisch portugiesische Wohnung mit sonniger Dachterrasse. Wer Treppen mag( mit Frühstückstablett schon etwas schwierig) und zentral in Tavira wohnen möchte ist hier genau richtig, alles da was man braucht und sehr sauber. Sehr nette und zuvorkommende Vermieterin. Danke Maria für die schöne Zeit....
