Beautiful thatched barn . Rural and peaceful , glorious grounds.

Barn End Cottage is a beautiful peaceful retreat in an Area of Outstanding natural beauty . It is stunningly located with picture windows looking out onto a gorgeous garden with uninterrupted views of the countryside. It is only 3 miles from Canterbury and a short distance from the coastal towns of Whitstable , Deal etc . For active holidaymakers walking , running and cycling are literally on the doorstep as we are in the North downs.

The cottage is a self contained part of a large Barn complex set in 3 acres . It is tastefully decorated and welcoming with lots of beams and character . Guests have their own large patio but are welcome to enjoy the garden.

Musicians are particularly welcome. There is an annex which contains an excellent Yamaha electronic piano and practice facilities for other instrument players. For those of a sufficient standard the owners grand piano may be available. The annex is also a perfect place to read a book or play table football . It has floor to ceiling windows looking out over the garden.

Beautiful Garden

A very pleasant and relaxing place to stay, especially sitting out looking at the beautiful surroundings. Wendy was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Wonderful stay

The house is located on a vast perfectly green lawn. Our host was very nice and helped us out with Tipps for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. We had a wonderful time!

Peace and charm in a thatched cottage in Kent

My family enjoyed our stay in Wendy’s cottage. The beds were comfortable, the cottage is peaceful and charming, and Wendy is a delightful and responsive host. We stayed during November; it must be fantastic to be there when you can enjoy the garden. We lived the views and the sense of space. The cottage is well-equipped and relaxing.

Our first time visiting the UK.

We had a pleasant stay and the owner is welcoming and friendly. She even gave us great tips for visiting London. The holiday home is in a very beautiful setting with a magnificent garden. I can definitely recommend this holiday home. It was our first time visiting the UK with our family and it was a pleasant introduction.

Beautifully tranquil and a perfect place to relax

Wendy's Barn was homely, clean and welcoming, just perfect. Everything you could need was provided with some extras. Prior to our booking Wendy was extremely accommodating to our extra needs. Wendy was welcoming and attentive but also left us to our selves,the grounds are beautifully maintained and full of wildlife, you can walk freely and enjoy the gardens. There are local walkable rural paths close by. A short drive from Canterbury and the coast you can have the best of both worlds.We will definitely be recommending it to friends and returning. Thank you Wendy for a lovely stay.

Lovely place

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Barn End Cottage sehr genossen. Der Garten mit unterschiedlichen Bereichen, z. B. einem idyllischen Teich mit Seerosen lädt sehr zum Genießen ein. Und das Haus ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Kleines Highlight für unsere Söhne war der Tischkicker in einem Nebengebäude und für die Abende gab es eine beeidruckende Auswahl an DVD's.Vielen Dank, liebe Wendy, dass wir das Cottage eine Woche bewohnen durften.We really enjoyed our stay in Barn End Cottage. The garden is lovely wirh different areas for example a small lake. Our sons loved playing table soccer und watching interesting movies on dvd.

A true pastoral paradise

This property is stunning— both in its structure and in its grounds. A thatched roof converted barn—complete with original exposed beams and timbers—is attached to the main house where the owner lives. The cottage is charming, clean, cozy, and very well-maintained. The host, Wendy, is delightful—helpful and obliging—and so thoughtful to leave some provisions so I had something to eat after my long flight. What truly makes this property so special is its location in the most beautiful, lush English countryside Kent has to offer. And the grounds themselves are a botanical wonderland that both Wendy and her gardener scrupulously cultivate. Location is excellent—only minutes from Canterbury which makes a perfect combination of town and country. If you’re looking for tranquility, quiet, and a lovely, pastoral retreat, you couldn’t do better than the Barn End Cottage. Highly recommend!

Perfect place to discover Kent

Very quiet and peaceful place. Owner Wendy just let you be and let you enjoy the place. Within easy reach of various resorts. Nice circular walk from and back to property, kids loved the garden, we really like Canterbury, Dover castle, broadstrairs, Margate…. I recommend 😀

I have lived here for 20 years and never tire of the views ,the birdsong and the beauty of the building.

I live next door so am available to sort out issues or lend things and make sure you have what you need .
