Town: The village of Swarland has Nelsons, which serves coffee and meals, a children’s play area and tennis courts. It is eight miles from Alnwick where there is a good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat as well as a castle, gardens, Europe's largest cascading water feature, a tree house, a rose garden and an ornamental walled garden. Nearby there are golden sandy beaches, numerous castles and boat trips to the famous Farne Islands, Brinkburn Priory and the National Trust’s Cragside House and Gardens.
