Newly renovated, Casinha Portuguesa offers two cosy bedrooms, each with its own small private bathroom and Juliette balcony boasting views of the historic city centre, situated on the 1st and 2nd floors, respectively.

Guests can also enjoy a cosy living room on the ground floor and a pleasant kitchen on the 3rd floor. However, the real gem awaits you on the rooftop terrace, offering stunning panoramic vistas of the Douro River! You'll find yourself wanting to spend most of your time soaking in the breathtaking views from up there!

While ideal for two couples or a small group, please note it may not be suitable for individuals with reduced mobility or young children. We really, really appreciate that you read the whole listing. Q: Can I do check-in earlier?
A: If no guests are checking out the same day as you arrive, we usually can allow for early check-in as long as we have advance notice. Likewise, if your arrival is on the same day as a check-out, we are unable to confirm in advance, as we might need every second we have to prepare the place. Either way, we will let you know as soon it is ready for check-in!

Q: How will I receive the key?

Sweet little spot in a charming town.

Great location for exploring the town. 10 minute walk from the train station - just beware the cobblestones if you're pulling luggage. Lots of good restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute walk. Loved the rooftop deck! Not suitable for larger or less mobile people, due to the many stairs and small showers.

Great visit to the Douro Valley

We had an excellent time in Regua staying at the "Hidden Gem". The apartment was clean and comfortable, and the rooftop terrace was an awesome spot to look over the city and the river with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Great location, great restaurant 2 doors up the street. Jose was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend!

Cute Home in Fantastic Location

Two couples stayed two nights at the property. We had a busy schedule so we didn't have as much time as we would have liked to enjoy the nice rooftop deck. Free public parking was available a couple of blocks away and restaurants were a short walk. The home was clean with comfortable beds. We would stay here again!

Best stay ever

Th apt is clean and pristine. Lovely 2 bedroom, each with a small bathroom. Peso da Regua is a beautiful town and the apt was lovely, a block off of the main street. There are stairs to get to each room and the kitchen. The rooftop terrace was wonderful and we enjoyed many hours there with lovely views of the city and river. This was a very be enjoyable stay and we would love to stay again. The host was easy to communicate with and very helpful. Lovely stay.

Fascinating property. Not for the overweight or shy about stairs. Nice rooftop but you have to be willing to climb. Very clean with well equip kitchen. Very tight bathrooms.

Unique House

This rental is beautiful but has many stairs and no living room. The kitchen is big enough to fit two people comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked and is well thought out. The rooftop views are spectacular, but you must use a ladder. If it’s raining, there’s no awning or cover for inclement weather. The entire house is an efficient use of space. The bathrooms are small, but user friendly. If you’re tall, watch your head going down the stairs. The location is stellar and quaint! Jose, our host, was very kind and accommodating.

Excellent stay from start to finish

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at José’s house. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. From the beginning, José was very communicative and welcoming. We were staying on a little honeymoon and José had taken the time to write us little notes around the property and leave us some wine which was delicious. José also sent through lots of helpful recommendations such as where to get pastries in the morning, where to get souvenirs, taxi numbers, and where to eat. We took him up on his recommendation of bakery which gave us delicious pastries to eat on the terrace, and on the tasting menu vineyard experience which didn’t disappoint. The house was in the centre of Regua which as a town is not too big or small. We’re planning on returning to Regua - which I hope will be very soon!

Beautiful apartment

Outstanding communication from the owner Jose. Beautiful apartment with a unique 3rd floor balcony that overlooks the city, river and vineyards. Great location in the city and easy access to the wineries in the Douro Valley. Unique 3 story apartment.

Mooi dakterras met uitzicht

Mooie verzorgde woning waar alles in zit. De slaapkamers en het dakterras zijn mooi. De badkamers zijn te klein. 1,5 m2 voor douche, toilet en wastafel! Ook de keuken is klein hoewel alles aanwezig is wat je nodig hebt. Maar als je bij slecht weer binnen moet zitten in plaats van op het dakterras kan dat niet met 4 mensen. Met 2 mensen is dat al erg krap! Het pas geven van informatie over parkeren en inchecken op de dag van aankomst is te laat. Je wilt weten waar je kan parkeren als je aankomt en niet als je al voor de deur staat. Ook het inchecken met een code voor het sleutelkastje welke je krijgt na 16:00 uur terwijl op de site staat dat je vanaf 16:00 uur kunt inchecken is wel erg kinderachtig.

The oldest demarcated wine region in the World (and probably the most beautiful), where some of the best wines in the world are produced, including the famous Port.
