Woodpecker, Bespoke holiday lodge in beautiful Suffolk conservation village

These purpose built Suffolk Lodge holiday homes are set within 4 acres of private grounds within the medieval village of Coddenham. The Lodges have their own entrance and private off road parking area with paved footpaths leading to a decking ramp for the front door or continuing to the paved patio area for alfresco dining.

The Lodges have an open plan lounge and kitchen/dining area, which over look the paddock towards the village, with a spacious double bedroom and shower room. The lounge offers a comfortable sofa and 32 inch smart tv . The kitchen benefits from having an oven with built in grill, 4 ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, built in fridge with freezer compartment, crockery, cutlery and all utensils.
Each Lodge has a paved patio, accessed through French windows, with table and chairs for you to enjoy the outdoors and lovely views along with a grassed garden area.
All linen and towels are provided.

The Lodges, and indeed Coddenham, are ideally situated for you to make the most of exploring Suffolk. We have numerous walks right on our doorstep, and wildlife galore visiting the property. Coddenham itself boasts the medieval St Mary's Church, Coddenham Food Store which provides fresh bakery, veg, deli, off license, gifts, outreach Post Office and cafe, then there's the Community Sports Hall with its tennis courts, badminton court and bowls green, the Country Club if you fancy a tipple . The heritage coast with the towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold are only a 45 minute drive, and Constable country with the towns of Flatford and Dedham are just a 30 minute drive. Don't forget to visit Lavenham and Long Melford, wonderful for an antiques hunt, again only a 30 minute drive.

It really is a great place to base yourself for exploring Suffolk, and choosing to stay in one of our Lodges offers you comfort and privacy with the security of having an owner on site should you need anything. Excellent quality property in a lovely area with lots to see and do. We enjoy walking and found loads of great walks in the area. Far more than we had time to do.

We have stayed in Woodpecker Lodge many times in recent years when visiting Suffolk. It ticks all the boxes for us including an excellent location near Ipswich but very rural. It represents excellent value for money for any couple looking for a compact lodge suited to a few nights stay in Suffolk. Coddenham has a lovely community shop/PO but sadly no pub now as the Dukes Head is now closed.All facilities are clean and as described by Vrbo.

Sunny Suffolk

What a fabulous few days we had in Suffolk. We were out and about during the day and it was a delight to travel back to the comfort of Woodpecker Lodge. The accommodation is spacious and is well equipped. The quiet outdoor area is a perfect place to sit in the sunshine.A short walk to the Community Shop is a must.Thank you for having us!

Hidden gem in the Suffolk countryside

We absolutely fell in Love with this property and area. It was to the perfect location for us to visit family in that area. And we loved our little holiday home base. It had everything we needed for our 25 day stay. We are so excited to have discovered this great lodge. And Graham was a great host. Was there if we needed him but also left us to our vacation too. We pinched ourselves every day to be staying in this great little lodge. Clenears came every week and it was emaculate. Honestly we will be back year after year and can't wait to be there again.The village was beautiful too. And we loved visiting the community run shop and cafe. And walking around the village.

Lovely Quiet Location

Enjoyed our stay at Woodpecker Lodge in Coddenham as always. Very homely and peaceful and were blessed with gorgeous weather Noticed the lodge was not as clean as usual, only little things like many spiders and cobwebs/dust in bathroom. Nothing to put us off and we will return for our 5th visit

Lovely Lodge

Beautifully appointed in quiet, pretty area in lovely village of Coddenham. Everything you need, plus we were lucky to enjoy some good weather and relax on the patio. So happy to be back and Graeme is such a friendly host.

Walks & Location

Good location for public footpath/field walks near accommodation. Lovely local village shop with coffee shop, and essential food/local produce. Travelled by short car distance to Needham Lake; walked around, and into Needham Market high street; few shops /eateries. Worth a visit. We were blessed with good weather and at night had the pleasure to enjoy a quiet drink on accommodation patio looking down on village.

This lodge has everything that you might require for a quiet break away. Suffolk is also a great county to visit with many different places to visit. What's not to like?

All through booking to communicating, our arrival and stay, the owner made sure that our accommodation was as clean, safe, convenient and comfortable as possible. The location is lovely, with easy access to footpaths and the village.

Peaceful location

Superbly situated for peace with lovely views, yet close to pretty and friendly village. Lodge is comfortable, clean and cosy. A tray would have been useful. An emergency contact number for owner also would be useful. So much to see in Suffolk, never disappoints and I love Portman Road

Wonderful cabin in the Suffolk countryside

I was in the UK on a working trip delivering three weeks of training. My original plans for accommodations with family and friends (I’m an expat Brit) were thrown into disarray by various sicknesses and this cabin was the perfect respite for my middle week. It was quiet, clean with excellent WiFi bandwidth and served as the perfect pied à terre so I could continue training. The village was picturesque and I enjoyed chatting with the staff in the local grocery store. Would recommend this strongly.
