"Glück Auf" is a reference to the region where both Bernadette and I are from—the mining region in Limburg. It’s an international miners’ greeting and roughly means “Come back up safely.”
The vacation home is part of a pair of two houses. We purchased two homes for our own use and for rental. Both homes can be rented separately or together. They are identical in size and amenities and are mirror images of each other. You can connect the terraces using a retractable screen. A unique feature is the extension of the balconies that adjoin each other; at that point, they are separated by a wooden partition to ensure privacy. When renting both houses to a single tenant, it is possible, if desired, to use a rotating section to access both balconies. This listing is for Vacation Home Glück Auf 1. See also the listing where you can book both houses at the same time. Note the affordable rates.
The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including a microwave, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, toaster, Nespresso machine, conventional coffee maker, refrigerator with freezer compartment, etc.
The living room features a sofa set with seating and relaxation options. The TV is a 4K Ultra HD set equipped with a SoundBar. Through Canal Digitaal, you can receive nearly all Dutch, Belgian, German, and Austrian channels in HD quality. Both the TV and the SoundBar are connected to the Internet. Netflix and audio streaming via Bluetooth or the Internet are available.
There is also a wood-burning stove for cozy warmth.
The washer-dryer combo is located in the bathroom on the first floor.
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms, each with a luxurious double box-spring bed (leather-look), equipped with reading lights on both sides. Each bedroom also features a large closet. The bedroom on the garden side has French doors leading to a spacious balcony that spans the entire width of the house. From here, you’ll enjoy a sweeping view of the mountain and the ski lift. The ski lift is open in both winter and summer and takes you from 700 meters to 1,560 meters. Each bedroom has its own bathroom; one is equipped with a shower, and the other has a bathtub with shower facilities. The bathtub is, of course, also ideal for small children.
A special staircase leads to the second floor, where two single box-spring beds can accommodate two more people. The staircase to the second floor is less suitable for people with limited mobility.
From the living room, French doors open onto the covered terrace that spans the full width of the house. The garden is 20 meters deep and terraced. At the end of the garden flows a small stream that is safe for children.
