Beautiful modern 3 bed en-suite chalet apartment with balcony

A spacious apartment (over 100 sq meters) on 4 floors set in the centre of Les Houches village, only a short distance from Chamonix, offering modern living with 3 en-suite bedrooms which can all be made up as king sized beds or two singles. The views from the living area or from the balcony of the Mont Blanc massif are breath taking.

The property undertakes an extensive clean after each visit by professional cleaners.

Chalet du Bois which contains Grand Chalet Mont Blanc was built in 2006 and contains just 8 chalet style apartments. It is situated just behind the ever-popular Hotel Du Bois.

On the first floor the apartment consists of a spacious living area with HD (HDMI) TV, gas burning woodburner style fire, fully fitted kitchen, including integrated washing machine, dishwasher and electric hob and oven. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine and a raclette. There is fast, free internet throughout the 4 floors.

There is also a dining area which seats 6, plus WC on the first floor and a wooden staircase winding up to the closed top floor bedroom which has a private en-suite shower and basin. There is wardrobe space plus a TV.

The ground floor features an entrance lobby giving access to a double bedroom with a wardrobe, HD TV and modern en-suite bathroom consisting of bath with overhead shower, WC and basin.

Downstairs accessed from the entrance lobby is the large master bedroom, HD TV and modern en-suite bathroom consisting of full size bath with overhead shower and basin. There is also a separate WC. There is large dressing area with wardrobe space.

Floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors opening onto the private balcony and vaulted ceilings give our apartment a bright, spacious and open living space year-round. The fireplace and amazing insulation coupled with underfloor heating keep it wonderfully warm and cosy in winter.

There is ski and boot storage inside the entrance hall.

Outside, there is private parking for two vehicles available accessed from Route de la Griaz.

There is access to the garden which is shared with the Hotel Du Bois. We suggest you visit the Hotel restaurant and bar at least once during your stay, the staff and atmosphere are also warm and friendly and their homemade burgers are very good.

Neighbourhood description:

Les Houches is a lovely little village. There are two ski lifts, Bellvue and Le Prarion (which is also open in the summer). Bellvue is a 15 minute walk, Priarion a little further. There is a free bus at the bottom of the road that runs very frequently in winter and summer to both ski lifts and into Chamonix. There is also a nursery slope for beginners within a 5 minute walk of the property.

The village has a small shopping area including ski/outdoor shops, a Carrefour, a boulangerie, restaurants and bars, including a micro brewery. There's also the expected services of a library, banks, pharmacy, Mairie, post office etc.

Getting to Les Houches is easy from multiple airports, with Geneva being the closest, about 60 minutes drive away. The route is motorway all the way, so quick, easy and always open. There are also lots of bus services and trains that operate from airports to get to the valley and to Les Houches.

The Chalet is about 2 minutes drive from the main route through the valley, but situated perfectly on a very quiet road that heads up the valley - high enough to be quiet, close enough to be a very short walk to amenities.

The valley is world famous for its scenery, walks and extreme sports, the Tour Du Mont Blanc, UTMB and Marathon du Month Blanc to name a few of the well-known tours. There are plenty of websites that offer great advice on walks, and I am happy to talk through suitable options you can take from the front door.
